MSI G63 7RE Stealth Bricked Bios Help

$

0
This isn't really an unlock request, it's an un-bricking assistance request. Out of the hundreds of bios updates I've gone through this is the first time I've had it go bad.
I picked up a CH341 programmer and am able to read the bios, spent an entire afternoon trying to understand the manual and compile others help on using this thing, I was finally able to get it working, but I also found out the hard way that you can't just use the stock rom that msi makes for a normal bios update.
From what I can gather I need to edit the bios within a hex editor first, but that's where I get lost, I like to imagine I'm no n00b but editing bios files is something I've never had to do before, externally flashing them is also something I've never had to do haha, anyways hopefully someone would be so kind as to lend a hand.
Thank you so much for any wisdom shed on this

[HELP] Toshiba L875d-S7232 AMD-V unlock

I have 2 Toshiba L875d-S7232 laptops and I am trying to enable AMD-V. The CPU supports it but the bios has it turned off. The bios is of the  Insydeh2o kind. I edited the bios using H20EZE (got it here), but virtualization is already enabled! In the information of the setting it says, "When VT is available, a VMM can utilize the additional hardware capabilities provided by Intel® Virtualization Technology." Is there another setting to enable virtualization? All help appreciated! Can-will post screenshots + debug info.

Asus P5V800-MX with SSD

Motherboard: Asus P5V800-MX
Bios: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/so...S-0901.zip

I'm not sure if it is the right forum, I have this situation:
The motherboard teorically support SATA2 but in practice is bugged and doesn't recognize the SSD (and SSD doesn't have the jumper to limit to SATA1 that fixed a similar problem in another pc).

As workaround I have bought Promise SATA300 TX2plus but although the BIOS apparently recognize it then Windows doesn't recognize it (after loading the correct driver in the Windows 7 32-bit setup).

When I start Windows 7 32-bit from an IDE HDD (for testing the problem), then Windows doesn't see the controller Promise SATA300 TX2plus (so I can't install the driver), but it is really strange because at startup:
- The BIOS of the controller appears and detect the SSD correctly
- In the BIOS of the motherboard the controller appears and it is even bootable

So I'm asking if it is possible one of these things:
1) Update the option ROM of the integrated controller of the motherboard to correctly negoziate with new SATA devices
2) Discover and fix the compatibility problem with Promise SATA300 TX2plus
3) Lockdown the internal SATA controller to SATA1 in the BIOS (possibly avoiding the problem)

I will be satisfied with just one option although having both 1 and 2 would be better and leaving option 3 only as last resort.
PS: I don't need RAID but I need AHCI if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Asus P6t VT-D support

I have a asus p6t motherboard (link to bios: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LG...S-1408.zip)
When I enable VT-D, windows refuses to boot and qubes warns that it wont install properly if I try. Apparently this is an issue with the DMAR table. My CPU is core i7-920. The wikipedia page for VT-D compatibility says that this CPU should support it. However that isnt the case so far. Can someone mod this BIOS to support VT-D in actuality instead of just in the manual?

Acer Aspire 5739G Won't boot, need BIOS help

Hi!

First post to this forum;

I have an Acer Aspire 5739g that had a dead motherboard, so when i swapped it out, it briefly shows the splash screen and goes to a blinking cursor forever.

I've followed countless bios recovery guides but the problem being a Phoenix BIOs is that:
--I don't know the precise recovery name for the bios file, phoenixtool refuses to tell me.
--Any attempt to flash it following the guide (i use MiniDOS.sys, phlash16, BIOS.wph (from the bios' ROM folder) and BIOS1.wph)
results in a blinking LED that goes on endlessly.
--Guides featuring floppy disks are useless, no floppy is big enough to hold everything
--Using google returns separate forums and guides that look like they were written by children.

Is there a proper way to do this where i'm not gonna be drinking heavily when I'm fed up with this?

I've enclosed a screencap of what I'm currently trying
Thank you!

[Request] Chinese mini pc

Hi all,

I have this chinese mini pc, it's a i7-7567U, it's marked Histton but I think it can also be found as Partaker or Histou.
It has 3x msata ports (2 long one short) with a preinstalled msata ssd (windows) and an msata wifi module.
1x sata port
1x M.2 port.

Seems only one msata port can be used for ssd.
Problem is when installing an M.2 ssd it gets recognized in bios but it is nowhere to be seen once the device is booted into Windows or Linux installer from cd or usb.
Tried at least three different M.2 ssd I bought, same result, also tried installing the M.2 ssd alone and nothing else, same result.
I was wondering if this is a hardware issue or blacklist or maybe a wrong bios setting. The M.2 connector pins don't seem to be damaged, tried changing a lot of bios settings to no avail.
Also, when the M.2 is installed, booting from msata or external disk gets much slower, like if ther's some conflict.
Since the ssd gets recognized in bios I think it should not be a hardware problem.
I'd like to install 2 x msata and an M.2 since I don't need wifi.
I backed up bios with afuwin64 from aptio V and opened it with amibcp5 but I don't know what to look for and this bios has a lot of options.

Maybe someone could take a look and find some obvious (not to me) problem?

Thanks

Hey o/

at first i apologize in advance for my bad english.

Im try to explain my problem.

I was trying to found a new min for undervolting and it works greatly via prime and cinebench but after the next new restart they wouldn't be start because they reset the powermanagment and used my undervolt settings too....

The hardware is trying to boot but didnt has any access to the bios. (Chip is still alive)

I was search for the bios on the asus homepage and found it but it has ones archive that wouldn't be enough for a flash via a programmer.

So im used my programmer to read and safe my current bios that be to see in the picture.

.png   Screenshot (2).png (Size: 181.85 KB / Downloads: 6)
Also im be able to compare both versions.

But here ends my knowledge about this specific theme and starts my request.

Can someone help me to implement the bios data from the asus to file to my current bios file????

[REQUEST] Aorus 15G XB BIOS unlock

Hi, guys !

First of all, thx for your work. I'm learning a lot...

I had an unlocked MSI BIOS a time ago and now I'm considering to unlock my new Aorus 15G, mainly because I hate I can't tune undervolt, etc...

I've dumped my BIOS, and can edit it using AMIBCP 5.02.0031 (aptio V) but not sure if the edition is right and if I can successfully flash the tweaked bios...). I'm not brave enough atm, at least ultil I can be blessed with your wisdom. I've read differente info, but not sure if it's enough or I need additional steps to get it working.

Does the general procedure of chaning Default to USER in menu work for aptio V? I've tried also to find the pattern (01 01 01 .. 00 00 00...)  with no success... but anyway not working with aptio v... right ? I would need to be focused on the right path, please.

Big thx in advance !!!

Google drive link I have a Fujitsu esprimo D556 h110 that I am trying to unlock the admin menu.
I have opened the bios file up in AMIBCP And can see al the options there but cannot see how to unlock them.

I have disabled CFg lock in amibcp and saved the file.
I need this disabled for a hackintosh install.

I’m unable to flash the file due to Afudos error 18 secure verification failure.

So I need help unlocking the hidden menu.

Can this be done via efi shell / efivars?
If not I have a programmer I can use to remove the chip and dump the rom and program a modified bios.

Bios files are here on my google drive.

BIOS inaccessible on IBM

Hi,

I purchased a refurbished x240 (12.5, dual core, 4gb of memory) with preinstalled win10.
I wanted to access the BIOS/boot menu and here is where the problem is.

During the startup what I see is a black screen with white text "Press Enter to interrupt startup".
If I press one of the following: F2/F8/F10/F12 (any F)/ Enter/Delete the screen will freeze and
no matter how long I would wait for anything to happen - nothing will change. I have to turn it off.
BIOS/boot menu is inaccessible for me then which is very annoying - I want to boot other OS but I simply can not.

What I did so far was:
1. installing BIOS Update Utility (Windows)- it clearly did some
installation of BIOS during startup, but it didnt solve the problem.

People seemed to have similar issue but thats the only thing ever suggested - didnt work for me.
Id be grateful for some help.
Best Regards

Hello, I'm a complete noob in BIOS modding community, but I would like to ask for help with BIOS unlock on my fresh AMD-powered Asus laptop.

My main goal: unlock UMA Frame Buffer Size option to be able to assign more than 512MB of dedicated VRAM to iGPU.
My secondary goals:
  • unlock CPU TDP options if available
  • unlock fan control options
BIOS file linkhttps://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/X5...AAS301.zip

However ideally I would like to learn how to do it myself but there is an overwhelming amount of information and I'm kinda lost in all those different guides Google has provided me.
