So this current BIOS is locked for Undervolting & Overclocking which makes no sense. I'm looking to unlock the bios to obtain these features. Alot of Gigabyte laptop owners are having the same problem and I want to help. Can someone help me with this?

BIOS backup problem with chinese CLEVO motherboard?

hi!, im new here, i have a friend's laptop from a "local" brand BANGHO that uses a CLEVO chinese motherboard, the thing is ultra slow to do POST and run=> turn on button - then gets on, but with black screen - 30 mins later (maybe) does POST and starts windows 8. I think  the problem might be related to the BIOS (tryed to unhook everything, hdd, optical, batt, change memory, disconected CMOS batt, changed from UEFI to Legacy with no luck. BUT

local manufacturer does not provide any BIOS (initial release or update) from the support page, and i didnt find any CLEVO BIOS, but even i don't know if it will work with that. 

then I downloaded AFUWIN for aptio 4 and made a backup of the BIOS, then I loaded into AMIBCP 4.53 but the only tab it shows is  "BIOS features" not the other tabs...
Then just for curiosity i tryed to reflash from the backup file and gave me error 7 checksum error...

I'm stuck.

In this BIOS mod, I'd like to gain control to more advanced features like SpeedStep control, and changing TDP power limit windows. In order for Andy's Phoenix Flash tool to be able to read the file, you need to extract the InsydeFlash tool and then run it, telling it to copy to a folder. I've attached a zip file in case the tool won't extract it on mismatching computer models.

The screenshots are in a separate zip as I was getting an error that the individual image files were too big to upload. I didn't include the Main bios tab as the only config options are date/time and it included some more personal information like serial number, asset number, and others that I feel are confidential. If needed I can attach it with some of the fields covered up.

EDIT: BIOS doesn't seem to be RSA signed as tool doesn't say "Decrypted" anywhere.

ASUS E203MA BIOS Reconstruction Help

Hello. Very new to the world of BIOS modding and using hex editors so please forgive me if I sound like I don't know what I am talking about because well...I kind of don't. Tongue 

That said, I have a ASUS E203MA that I suspect may have a corrupt BIOS. The computer powers on, but black screen. No external video either. Tried some initial troubleshooting and I am down to either corrupt BIOS or faulty motherboard. I want to try BIOS first.  I removed the motherboard from the laptop and then desoldered the Winbond BIOS chip. Using a Raspberry Pi 3 and some soldered-on wires, I used flashrom to take a dump of the original (possibly corrupt) BIOS and saved it as a .bin

I then downloaded the latest BIOS from ASUS's website. (https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ASUS-Lap...Desk_BIOS/) It is my understanding that ASUS BIOS updates are not complete BIOS ROMs, but rather, a partial ROM that ASUS EZ-Flash merges in with the existing BIOS during an update or something to that effect. I'm not really sure how that works, but that is my general understanding however wrong it may be.

I was reading about other users with a similar situation on ASUS's website (https://rog.asus.com/forum/archive/index...55497.html) and some users were creating "reconstructed BIOS" images by dumping the original ROM and then merging in the downloaded update using a hex editor by following this:

Reconstructed_Image 0x0 - 0x1FFFFF = Bricked_Image 0x0 - 0x1FFFFF ( 2 Mb).
Reconstructed_Image 0x200000 - 0x7FFFFF = Update image 0x800 - 0x6007FF ( 6 Mb)


I downloaded HxD and loaded both the original dump and the update file I downloaded from ASUS. I can see the files are indeed different, but here is where I become painfully lost. I have no idea what I am supposed to be doing at this point. I was hoping someone could help me.

Basically, I am trying to get an up-to-date ASUS BIOS ROM (as a .bin) by merging my dump with the latest ASUS update so I can then flash that image back to the Winbond chip, solder it back to the motherboard, and see if it fixes my problem.

[REQUEST] Bios unlock for Dell Inspiron 7375

This is my first time posting on this forum so let me know if I need to do anything differently.  Big Grin

I want to change the temperature target on my Dell Inspiron 7375 with the Ryzen 5 2500u. It performs well enough to play games with the igpu running at 700+ Mhz and 12w power draw, then after some cooling mods I did it runs at a comfortable 75 C, but after about a minute of gaming it throttles the gpu clock down to about 400 Mhz (even when the temps are below 80 C), then tries to keep the cpu/gpu temperature below 65 C. I have tried different power draw levels (15w, 25w, 35w, 45w) and it has the same issue which tells me its a thermal throttle issue.

I want to be able to set a custom temperature target so that it will only start to throttle after reaching 85 C.

Asus eeepc 1101HA vs 1101HA_GG

Hello all,
I ve been struggling to update an 1101HA (says the sticker under the laptop) and i always get a message at afudos "Error: ROM file ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS ROMID"...

I tried several afudos versions and finally i saw by luck that this motherboard was flashed by a 1101HA_GG bios (correct or not i dont know since i received this netbook second hand) I cant find any differences of them in hardware , so my question is can i flash it with 1101HA bios ? 1101HA_GG bios is only for XP , while 1101HA has several newer versions supporting 7,8,8.1 os

Any ideas ? I ve also uploaded same version bios of those models if somebody can check them both(compare). 

I also have a programmer so i can make a flash backup in case something goes wrong.
