Gigabyte Aorus 17X YB Bios Unlock request

Hello all,

First of all the weirdest thing about this situation is that my laptop arrived with a newer version bios than is available straight from gigabyte themselves. As I can't seem to find a changelog anywhere (Is there a way to find this?) I'm unsure if it's even possible to use the bios I am supplying as it may be rejected as being too old a version. Anyway, here is what is bugging me about my laptop, the AMI bios that is included is about the most barebones I have ever seen. There is zero scope for any teaking bios side and there is problems getting anything other than a mild undervolt to stick with XTU. More improtantly I'd like to be able to enable XMP to make use of the 3200 sticks the laptop ships with instead of being stuck with 2933.

MEGA for the BIOS FB02 & EC F002 downloaded from gigabytes website for this model. Installed is FB04 & EC F002. If this wouldn't work I can extract my current bios and post that.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I need help modding an ASUS BIOS.

I tried to flash the BIOS after modding it using AMIBCP but EzFlash refused to flash it as it said it was "not a proper BIOS".
I'm using an ASUS TUF X470-PLUS GAMING motherboard and all I'm trying to enable is the option for Above 4G Decoding.

Thanks.

G50-80 Bios Problem

Hello everybody, I have Lenovo G50-80, model name 80E5 with Core i5-5200u. I am searching for BIOS B0CN40WW. I upgraded the bios version from B0CN40WW to B0CNA0WW and my CPU stuck to 0.13Ghz and the CPU thinks that Uncore is using around 40W and its power throttling itself. I tried out few older version of BIOS, B0CN95WW - 0.13GHZ, B0CN75WW and B0CN79WW - 0.48Ghz. In versions B0CN75WW and B0CN79WW the CPU thinks that Uncore is using 30W so its throttling itself a bit less, still not at all how it must be. I am searching for my original BIOS version so I can get rid of this problem. I am using the original Ram but I also tried a different one, I tried reinstalling Windows, I tried Windows 7 and Windows 10 and nothing changes. Thank you!

Google query: atikmdag.sys Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Conclusion

2 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

atikmdag.sys (ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.)

If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination with the errors that have been reported for these drivers. Include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions on the web by users who have been experiencing similar problems.

Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information.

Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further.

I decided to upgrade bios from this site https://imgur.com/a/jlhhd4g (im hovering my mouse on the bios)  an unlocked one i heard that the bios fix this problem, but whenever i launch the Flash tool is says that https://imgur.com/a/8oL55MB

Do you think if i update the bios my problem is fixed? how do i update the bios? and how do i get rid of this problem

How to return to the UEFI BIOS interfaces

Hi everyone, I have a problem that everyone wants to help find a solution that is how to switch from Legacy BIOS to UEFI BIOS like when it came out.
Note: the term Legacy BIOS, UEFI BIOS are in my own words, may not be accurate, please understand and ignore.
 [Image: 4e20544dea16f95a9bb923f721b1f8e5cae8a911.png]
I have a Dell Inspiron 7559 laptop, from the time I came in to the BIOS, I had a new interface as shown in Figure 1. Later on, I learned some ways on the network to transfer Legacy -> UEFI and format HDD & convert MRB - > GPT to install Windows 10. From then on, every time I re-enter the BIOS I noticed that the interface was switched to the blue Legacy BIOS.
  [Image: proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fimg23.rajce...956c78ac9c]
I updated the BIOS to the latest version, Restore Default, [Enable] Secure Boot but still not feasible.

Ps: I come from Vietnam and apologize for my poor English

X58-PRO Chinese dont work with 130W CPU - Help-ME

Hello friends,

I'm having problems with Xeon W3565 CPU on a Chinese generic motherboard, currently I use Xeon E5620 on the said motherboard named by the seller as X58-PRO from the Kllisre brand but there are also other identical X58-PRO that are supposedly manufactured by other brands like Atermiter , JIAHUAYU, Machinist and others ... (X58-PRO Huananzhi is slightly different)

The fact is that the seller that I bought the motherboard from 1 year ago told me that it is compatible with W35XX, W36XX and X5680 / X5690, all CPUs with 130W-TDP, knowing this, 1 year after the purchase I decided to order a W3565 for increasing the clock from 2.4ghz to 3.2ghz, when receiving for my surprise it didn't work, i contacted with the seller he said that this card does not support 130W-TDP CPUs, only 95W or less.
I tried to find the motherboard vendor but I couldn't, so I looked for ads for this motherboard online and some vendors claim to be compatible and even selling kits Xeon X5680 with this same motherboard, but others say no, just 95W or less, the bridge north is 5500 and according to Intel it is compatible so I imagine that to increase the useful life of the motherboard they chose to limit the compatibility with these CPUs by removing the BIOS codes, which does not make much sense since the motherboard has 7 phases of VRM and would be able to power the CPU.

I have no experience in BiosMod but I am willing to learn, would it be possible to include these codes as is done in motherboards lga775 to support Xeons lga771?

Could someone teach me and guide me on where to get the codes and how to add in the BIOS? (if it’s less work and someone can do it for me too it would be good)

In addition to this main issue, there are also other limitations in the BIOS that should be dealt with in a separate topic, but to avoid reworking friends I will put here:
The motherboard does not enable the turbo boost, being always in stock.
The motherboard has no overclocking options.

If there are any hidden options about this, I would appreciate having them unlock,
Thankyou and I apologize about my English.

VPCCW25FG VAIO advanced bios

Hi
I wanted to upgrade my Bluetooth to version 4 so I bought a BCM943228HMB half mini board which has both wifi and bt. I replaced the original card which supports wifi only. But The Bluetooth part of BCM943228HMB does not appear in device manager.
I have Installed the the driver via updating the device driver in device manager and Disabled the original Bluetooth and restarted my laptop but nothing changed. So I thought I need to change something in BIOS to let the system use Bluetooth functionality of the BCM943228HMB card but the BIOS at the moment have few options and looks like I have to enter advanced menu.
Do any body have some clue about this problem?

Asus N73 - no boot from internal card-reader (bios/hw mod required?)

Hello, ppl

I have some trouble with asus nb (n73sm) - it doesn't boot from internal card reader. When the card sits inside during turn-on and entering bios - there's no "mass media" device detected, so no way to select it as first boot-entry.
I also have another nb - k50id - and is does boot from sd-card, placed in internal card-reader ok. When the card sits inside during turn-on and entering bios - there is a "mass media" device detected (smth. like "USB Multicard").

What i tried/know so far (no positive result reached yet):
- updated nb bios to latest stock 302
- modified original 302 bios (ami IV) so that all options are unlocked (there's "USB config" in Advanced, but nothing helpful there) and flashed it; tools used: amibcp_v4-55-0070, mmtool_v4-50-0023
- both nbs (n73sm and k50id) utilize Alcor Micro Usb2 card reader, sitting on usb (no pci/pci-e card-readers involved in this case)
- i noticed, that n73, upon booting to OS win7 with inserted card - there's no card discovered in "my computer" until i re-insert it - wtf? some weird hw solution? or alcor driver, loaded by os, somehow "enables" chip?

Any ideas what to do next?

p.s: if needed - i can get close pictures of motherboard near alcor chip

Hi folks!

First time here! So I've been looking around for a way to find a way to upgrade my Wifi card that's only getting a max of 47Mbps.(Thinking of buying this one)

Bios:
Insyde 2.40 09/11/2011
Version SMBIOS: 2.6
Mode: Legacy
Bios file from Toshiba: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-file...141325.zip
Name bios-20120207141325.zip(Extracted:BB10240.FD)

Original Card: PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&SUBSYS_7175144F

Also did the little test with Andy's phoenix tool and looks like It's unsigned.

Since I have a little knowledge of Assembly I originally I wanted to use the method a fellow poster did recently on a stickied post about Insyde bios Whitelist, seems easily achievable if everything goes right, but is there a way to find a way de VEN/DEV of the new card so that I can exchange it with one of the whitelisted cards?

If there is anything missing me a heads up!
Thanks!
