Hello,
I am trying to overclock my old machine and successfully managed to overclock well only the RAM a bit and GPU

But the american megatrend bios on this motherboard only has the option to overclock the RAM frequency and SPID
It shows FSB but i cant change it as there is no option of overclocking anything else

Please can anyone of you be kind enough to unlock or mod the attached BIOS so i can increase FSB or overclock cpu or just more overclocking options

I would truly be thankful

Hi there good people and Happy New Year,

looking for a BIOS mod request of bios of Asus P5LD2 that will support Wolfdale C0, M0 Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor E8500. I am attaching the bios chip content.

The board actually starts with this CPU but I am getting error: Intel CPU ucode loading error Press f1 to resume. If You press f1 nothing happens, if You pressed dell before the error when you press f1 i can get into the bios and the CPU is recognized.
I tried to modify the bios using mmtool and upgraded all microcodes and added the microcode for cpu E8500 but the error remains. What i am doing wrong?

ive tried CMOS battery reset, unplug the ram, test all the hardware
- Mobo
- Ram 2x8 GB ddr4 sticks so+dimm
-cpu
-Hdd and ssd
are not faulty ...
i got good voltages on the pcb of the mobo and all the rest working perfectly on other laptop
so the trouble is a this bricked H20 insyde bios

Please help me, iam very pissed off, and laptop is 3 months old [Image: smile.gif]
thank you in advance people !

it is the first time i have a laptop (always tower pc before that)

i saw i can do an Insyde bios recovery via usb crisis key:
  1. ) Obtain the correct BIOS file for your system. The file extension will usually be one of the following: “.fd” “.rom” “.bin” “.wph”
2.) Please see to determine what you should rename the BIOS file to.
3.) Copy the renamed BIOS file to an EMPTY USB flashdrive. If the flashdrive is not empty or is incorrectly formatted, the recovery process may fail.
4.) Disconnect the AC power adapter and, in the case of a laptop, remove the battery as well.

5.) Insert the USB flashdrive into one of the USB ports on the computer. In most cases, the particular USB port that you use will not matter. That being said, some computers are finicky and will only accept a specific USB port for recovery.

6.) With all power sources disconnected from the computer, hold down the ‘Windows’ key and the ‘B’ key. Do not release these keys until instructed to do so.

7.) Connect the AC power adapter to the computer.

8.) Press the ‘Power’ button on the computer.

9.) When the LED’s illuminate, you may release the two keys from step #6. You may notice some of the LED’s illuminating differently from how they do in normal computer operation.

10.) After about 10 seconds, the computer should start reading the flashdrive. While searching for the file system, the computer may (should) beep for one second. The number of beeps can vary based on the capacity of the flashdrive as well as the number of files on it. If the BIOS file is not found, the computer will reboot and try again.

11.) If the file is found, the computer will load it. The particular computer used in this tutorial took 12 seconds to load the BIOS file, but times can vary based on the size of the BIOS image. No beeps will be heard during this process.

12.) After the computer is finished loading the BIOS file, it will start flashing the BIOS. During this process, the computer will beep every 2 seconds. The computer used in this tutorial took about 32 seconds. About 5 seconds after the flashing process has finished, the computer will shutdown. If the recovery process was successful, then the BIOS should work normally the next time you boot up the computer.

*NOTE: Not all devices will produce beeping sounds during the recovery process. The USB flashdrive LED should still blink on and off while the computer is loading the BIOS image. If the loading process is successful, the computer should shutdown within the next minute. For larger BIOS images, this may take longer."
My question will it work for me AND should i rename the fd file ?
i have download phoenixtool to have some info :

Extracted FD file from exe : Covini108.fd
brand : Acer
Bios : EFI/ insyde Bios

Removal of Error Reporting on HP 8200 Motherboards

Hello,

I am trying to get into modifying computers, and my HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT is giving me some trouble. I have put the HP 8200 motherboard into a new case since the connectors for a normal ATX power supply is different, I have to use an adapter. This adapter new case has caused some issues given the non-proprietary hardware. On boot up the BIOS alerts me that "Front USB-1 not connected" and "Power Supply fan not connected" these issues are from missing grounds in the ATX power supply cables, and can be resolved by jumping them with any wire. I do not wish to do this as it has proven inconsistent. So I pursued a more express method. I want to remove the error reporting from the BIOS and save that BIOS image to flash onto any other machines I may use the HP 8200 motherboard on as I have plenty to work with. I am currently using MMtool 4.50.0.23 to accomplish this and have deleted "ErrorDisplay" but I am now getting a corrupt image or missing signature error when I try to flash the image or a PC. If this is possible, is it possible on an HP 8300 BIOS as well? Thanks in advance for any assistance. I have attached a CAB with the .bin I am trying to modify for reference.

Should backup file be identical to the ROM flashed before?

I tried upgrading WIFI on an old Lenovo 3000 N200, by flashing this.
Now, in Windows 10 32bit, I get in Control Panel 2 unrecognized entries, but Windows would not find any drivers/updates. Installing the WiFi_21.60.2_Driver32_Win10 driver from intel, it gives no error, says done (very quickly), but nothing changes. I also tried removing, reinstalling and rebooting, but nothing changed. Also tried factory BIOS, no change.

Now, if I backup the BIOS, the backup file is different than the Whitelist rom that I installed, and also different than the backup of the original ROM.
Is it ok for it to be different, or is that the problem? Any other solution for my problem or where to look for one?

Hi

Does this file can be flashed to XW-4200 with P4 651 (was P4 551) with the same 1801 error?

Hey, I have an HP OMEN 15-dh0007nj, it's very recent so HP didn't upload any specific drivers for it on their website, but I found the driver for the dh-0000 series and it has 4 bios images, one of them must work on my laptop.
my laptop's hardware is i7-9750H and 1660-Ti, is there a way to know which bios image is mine? like reading them somehow? and could trying them one by one damage anything in my mobo?

Any help is appreciated!

[REQUEST] Asus ROG G53JW & i7-940XM

$

Hello together!

I actually have a problem with my ASUS G53Jw and I think (or hope?) that an unlocked BIOS might help, or that it might deliver more insight into the problem.

The laptop was originally equipped with an i7 720QM, 4GB of RAM and a GTX460M with 1,5GB VRAM.
When I purchased it, I upgraded the RAM to 16GB and everything worked fine, both Windows and the BIOS recognised the 16GB of RAM.

A few weeks ago, the graphics board failed and I ordered a new GTX460M (this time with 3GB VRAM).
My idea was, since I had to disassemble the whole laptop anyway to apply new thermal paste, clean the fans and so forth, I also wanted to upgrade to a faster CPU and thus bought an i7 940XM.

The repair went off without a hitch, Windows booted up, the new graphics was recognised right away, as well as the CPU.
I then checked the BIOS and, also here, CPU and graphics board are identified correctly.

But: The BIOS now says that only 8 GB of RAM are installed, so does Windows.

CPUID HWMonitor does not show the exact amount of RAM at all, only its utilisation.
CPUID CPU-Z, HWiNFO and AIDA64 show 16 GB of RAM and recognise each of the four slots correctly (4*4 GB, serial number, clockings, ...).

Maybe someone of you knows about this problem, or can help me with the unlocked BIOS.

Thanks in advance,
Daniel

Fix memory support on SM-3322

$

Hello there!
I've recently populated all memory slots on a Itautec SM3322 motherboard with 2GB modules, to a total of 8GB, maximum memory supported by this board according to the manual. The motherboard recognizes all 4 slots, but lists only 4096MB of RAM.
I attached a picture of the memory page on the bios, and the bios file itself.

This motherboard is a rebranded Pegatron A480-S, according to CPU-Z.
I also noticed that if I remove the dedicated GPU, it recognizes all 8192MB of RAM.

I believe it can be a bug on the bios. The manufacturer won't provide a new, updated bios for it, so I want to know if it is possible to fix this.

Thanks in advance

Unlock request for Maxdata NB5500IR Notebook

Hello,

I own a Maxdata NB5500IR notebook. This is an older one and similar to the Getac P470, but fits all my needs  Smile

I like to enable KVM-support which is provided by the Intel-CPU (CPU-flags: vmx) but reported as "Disabled by BIOS" in boot messages of Linux.
Also I changed the WIFI-card from old mPCIe 54MBit-Intel to 300MBit-Realtek card. This card is hardblocked and I am unable to switch it on with hardware switch of notebook. Therefore I tabed the enable pin and the new card is working but can not switched off with the hardware switch. Maybe this behavior is caused by an WIFI-whitelist? I also tried some faster CPU's, whose may fit in chipset (socket, bus-clock,...), but only the Intel T7400 is working instead of the original T7200. Maybe the T7600 is blocked by an whitelist?

These are my whishes/ requests:
- enable hidden menus
- enable KVM-support
- remove any whitelists (WIFI-, GSM/LTE- cards, CPU)

The bios is downloadable from:
Maxdata-FTP repository

Thanks in advance

FX 8320e throttling on Asus M5A78L-M/USB3

Hello.
I recently upgraded my processor to a FX8320e on a Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 and it is throttling a lot under load.
According to the manufacturer, this board is rated up to 140W CPU, and the 8320e is a 95W CPU.
First I thought that the regulators were overheating, but turns out it is software related.
After following the steps I found on this thread, I found out that disabling Turbo Core through AMD Overdrive solves the issue because it also disables APM, but disabling it through the BIOS does not. The problem is that it is not persistent, and I must do it every time the computer starts.

Can this APM function be permanently disabled on this board's BIOS? From what I read on an AMD overclocking guide, it is supposed to set the TDP limit for the processor, and they recommend disabling it for overclocking so it runs without thermal and power limits.

I attached the BIOS to this post.
Thanks!

[REQUEST] Bios Mod for Lenovo AiO B40-30

Hi all,

I had to remove CPU fan from my Lenovo B40-30 AiO (desktop) because of the unbearable noise. Confused
It works very well without it since a few months (I have removed the back cover and checked CPU max temperature which is OK)...but every time I start my PC, I have to press F2 key to confirm that I want to boot even if my CPU fan is not present.

As I often need to start my PC remotely using WOL, it can't be done anymore and stop at boot without going to Windows (unless someone press F2 key for me at home).

AFAIK, my official bios does not allow to continue anymway without fan and there is no "ignore fan error" option.

So, here's my bios backup, I've tried to find this fan or thermal control option with AMIBCP 4.53 but I don't really know what to do or which parameter I should change.

Thanks in advance,
