[HELP] Bad embedded controller flash Lenovo Thinkcentre M93p
Hello,
I updated the "embedded controller" bios under windows7. After the flashing the program said: wait 1s the always freeze. Now I have a blank black screen with spinnign fans.
I used the FBJYD4USA version which uses FBCT32A.bin. I think the bios stored in the W28Q80bvsg SPI eeprom. This eeprom has a 8Mbit capacity but the content (FBCT32A.bin) is 128kbytes only.
Is there any failsafe method to reflash the SPI?
Thanks,

Lenovo G505 bad BIOS flash? No boot!
Good day,
In order to try and diagnose/repair some crashing on the laptop, I decided to perform a BIOS update from version 1.02 to v2.04 (latest for that laptop on Lenovos site).
The flash initiated successfully, rebooted the machine, started flashing BIOS... at 100% the machine rebooted again, but screen remained black (no backlight). No Lenovo logo on boot.
Things tried so far:
-Pulled AC, pulled battery, disconnected CMOS battery.
-Tried BIOS recovery.. first I tried to use the .ROM file in the .exe downloaded from lenovos site. Then tried to use a ROM extractor.. also no go. Used Phoenix/Insyde tool to read BIOS, renamed file to VAWGAX64.ROM, but no joy with an empty USB drive.
Also tried VAWGAX64.FN, also no joy. Insyde tool says recovery filename is VAWGAX64.F?, but windows is unable to make such a file name extension.
Does anyone have further ideas as to what to do? Where to go from here? Or am I Ship out of luck?
Laptop in question is a Lenovo G505 (S/N CB23189137) with an AMD A6 APU.

ASRock J5005
Hi guys,
I have a question to this board. Is there any chance to mod the boards bios this way, that it will accept other network cards on the m.2 ( a+e coded) ? I want to use a pcie Network card via adapter on this slot. It isn't recognized. Maybe whitelist Problem? The slot it self can drive electrical any card with m.2 (a+e). A intel wireless, or a usb 3.1 Card, driven via adapter Work. A pcie x4 Network card via adapter wont Work. A raid card via adapter wont work in this slot. So i guess there is a whitlist. I would like to drive a connect x3 10gbps via m.2 to pcie x16 Adapter in this slot.sure i got only one lane gen2. The Network card wont reach full speed in this configuration. But thats no Problem. Is there any chance for you guys to make the slot work with this card? Sorry for my bad english.

Do HP models no longer have a Wi-Fi/BT whitelist?
Hi. The question I have is written in the Title of this thread. I had a question about whitelist of Wi-Fi/BT cards ever since I have decided to buy a new laptop for a Hackintosh. I did some searches, and came across this statement which also says is not 100 % confirmed: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/284481-no-wifi-whitelist-on-new-hp-laptops/?do=findComment&comment=2254261
Is this true? I will also be posting a question on the HP forums. I thank everyone who reads this and hopefully helps me.
Edit: On the second thought, I won't be asking the HP Customer Support because they say nothing about whitelists being lifted.

Bios Recovery Acer Extensa 5235
Hello everyone,
wanted to flash a newer Bios version from the Acer Website. Flashed it via Windows. But the flashing went wrong.
I tried Crisis Recovery tool, followed the instructions and added the previous BIOS.wph to the USB-Stick.
I've used Fn+Esc, Fn+B, Win+B. But no matter what I try the laptop turns on and off endlessly (with black screen).
The stick-LED flashes but it won't read.
Tried a 4GB and 2GB stick (both with FAT32 & FAT16).
Has somebody ever solved the problem on the acer extensa 5235?
I only use this old Laptop because I've upgraded CPU and changed the HDD to a SSD. It worked like a charm. But now after the BIOS update it died.
Thanks for help!!

Intel Compute Stick BIOS mod needed
Hello,
I was looking for the proper forum to post this.
I have a request to either unlock or add the ability to boot to Legacy Mode on my STCK1A8LFC which natively supports only UEFI and Ubuntu OS (no Microsoft OSes apparently).
I wiped the internal eMMC so that I have 7.2GB available.
I can install another version of Linux if I want to but I seriously want to use this for DOS without going through the VM route.
If I can boot a FAT32-formatted USB stick with just DOS boot files on it, that will accomplish my purpose.
I'm willing to pay someone to hack this for me. It's worth it.
I can dump the BIOS on my compute stick and email to someone to do the unlock or do a module add so I can use Legacy Boot.
Thank you kindly!
Steve

Add CPU support to Samsung R540 BIOS
Hi,
I would like to make my i5 460M fully supported in Samsung R540. Samsung originally was also mounting i5 450M, which is quite the same as 460M.
I upgraded my old laptop from P6100 to i5 460M.
Computer works, but both Windows and CPU-Z see only 1 core/2threads, so this is only a half of CPU. Is there any chance to add CPU support to motherboard BIOS?

If you're in the U.S. I can just ship you one of these to hack and test with so you know for sure it works, then you can send back with the *.BIO file which I can use to do an F7 method BIOS update on the others. I would want to donate the hacked BIOS to the community.
Thank you kindly!
