Can you unlock an A55BM-E 1101 bios with UEFI Please

Can the Asus ami/UEFI bios for an A55BM-E bios version 1101 latest be modded to allow the FSB option to be available and any other OC features be added. I have NO FSB optioon in bios really annoying as i can't OC the A4-4000 APU.

Now this is an UEFI bios so i havn't tried as i cannot find a modding guide myself yet or a bios editing tool. But that's likely just me.

Hi guys,

As I am sure you are aware, there is a modification to install a Socket 771 cpu to 775 motherboards.

Fearlessly I became another user to add to the growing list for this handy mod.

My attempt is on a Asus P5E-VM HDMI, Bios v0709. With a SLBBA E0 X5460 Xeon.

I decided to also mod the notches into the chip with a dremal instead of risking socket damage. A cheap Xeon is easier to replace.

Added the pin swap sticker and completed installation. Heat sink/paste etc. Lets Go.

POSTed immediately, correctly identified the CPU- listed & detected the drives, then Halted with a "Unknown CPU and Over Temp Warnings" "Please upgrade you bios for full features"

Hit F1 to resume and Windows attempts to load but crashes immediately with a quick message and reboots.

For giggles I noticed, Oddly, it will boot a Linux "Macrium Reflect" Recovery CD perfectly.

I assume from reading much of this thread it is the lack of Microcode support despite sharing the 1067Ah CPUID of the Q9650.

At this point, I can only ask for help from you guys.

I get scared at the possibility that I might figure how to insert some 771 Xeon microcode- but what about checksums and ROM size issues.. do I have to pull out some other code for space?

I'd rather ask & pay an expert, and apparently this is also where you hang out!
Can someone modify my Bios please?
I rather like this motherboard and would like NOT to brick it.

CPU Mod Request (Xeon LGA 771 microcode on LGA 775 Mobo)

Hello I have succesfully modded an LGA 775 socket and threw in Xeon processor. I is booting up but there are some instability issues.

I am getting a boot error message "Unknown CPU detected. BIOS update is required to unleash its full power" yet I already have the latest BIOS. I am also gettting occasional BSODs saying "try disabling memory functions such as caching and shadowing in the BIOS or remove recently installed hardware".
I also noticed that Intel Speed Step technology is not working. (If I try enabling it, computer will not boot and I must clear CMOS).

I was told that to fix this I must get a modded bios with microcode for my new xeon processor and microcode for my old LGA 775 processor (just for safety).


I am requesting a modded BIOS so I can hopefully recover functionality of intel speed step and also reduce the BSODs.

I upgraded from Intel® Celeron® Processor 420 (512K Cache, 1.60 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) SL9XP Malay
to a Intel Xeon X5450 3.0 GHz quad core Socket 771 server CPU SLASB 12M/1333 64-bit, 120W, C0 stepping and "Harpertown" core

Can somebody please help me create a modded BIOS? So that my computer is more stable?
I would also appreciate if somebody could give me suggestions of optimal BIOS settings. Thanks!

I do not own a copy of AIDA 64 so I cant provide that screenshot at the moment, but I am sure I can provide more info via other software if needed (such as cpu z).

Please let me know if anybody can help me?

Hello, Could someone please remove the wifi whitelist from my laptops bios?

I was looking thru the post on how to remove it from an insydeH20 bios myself but I don't trust myself to get it right.

I extracted the BIOS from my machine with Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0 LENOVO-83CN12WW(V1.01).rom

ATM it has 83CN12WW
If the BIOS dump does not suffice I can download the official update and flash that to the laptop and go from there.

I downgraded from Win 8 to Win 7 and I was not aware of Secure Boot, and now I can't boot in after a clean Win instal. My BIOS Configuration is in standard mode so I can't disable Secure Boot, please help. I tried to flash the original BIOS file with Win button + B but it didn't do anything after the multiple beeps.

If it doesn't give you any trouble, could you show me which step should I take now?

Hai,

As the subject reads I'm calling for a BIOS unlock for my computer. HP have marked their territory far enough and I want to be able to change some stuff such as enabling Wake On LAN..it is completely locked and restricted.

I no longer have my original wifi card since im on Bios 2.10 whitelist unlock. 2.12 from reading the chinese forums as best as I can in google translate helps even more with temps.

Hi everyone! I'm new on the community!
I have a problem I can't resolve by myself. I'm trying to turn my Ultrabook into an Hackintosh and everything is almost fixed and working but there is still a bug. I can't change the RAM I dedicate to my GPU. Since Chameleon/Chimera only allow 32/64/96MB of RAM and my computer is locked to 128MB, graphics aren't working.

My BIOS is an Insyde BIOS. It's a UEFI and legacy BIOS. I honestly can't tell you which BIOS is the good one, there are two available on Acer's website (http://www.acer.ca/ac/en/CA/content/drivers » Ultra-thin » Aspire M5-481T)

My laptop is brand new so I want something stable and that won't crash it.

Hi all, I have the above laptop with a Phoenix Bios. The problem I am having is that there is no option to enable the wifi antenna, the options are Disable or Last State. There are no Hotkeys and Medion Launch software doesn't seem to work on Windows 7. To enable the wireless I have to install Vista and use the launch software, enable the wireless, then I can delete vista and install Windows 7 and it works until there is a update for the wireless card then I have to do the same process all over again.

I cannot find an update for the bios on the Medion site only the original one.

I am wondering if there is an update for this bios or if it can be modded to have Enable or Disable instead of last state.

Any help or Input would be greatly appreciated.[/size]

I am desperately trying to make AHCI enabled on my laptop. I allready tried whit the SONY VGN-CR220E unlocked bios, which I found here on bios.mods.com, but unfortunately it didn't work.

So now I am kindly asking, if it is possible to unlock my version of bios. Below I attached the link to the original bios.

Mod Flash Clarification

Sovem, believe the mod I want to use was created by you, can you answer/clarify the following?

I want to flash a Lenovo T430 with G1ET99WW(2.59).rom (A modded bios I found by searching these forums) but I'm confused by a couple of conflicting statements. 1) must be done with HW programmer (don't understand how it's done in a laptop) 2) can be done with DOS boot usb with above rom file and phlash16.exe file on it. I would like to use opt 2 but all the reference to opt 1 scare me. Which is best/correct way to flash bios? Will both ways work? Should I use a different flash pgm?

Also, I've tried to access rghost.net files but always get 'connection reset' msg is there some trick to doing this?
