I purchased a vostro 3560 with i73632q and intel hm77 with ubuntu that I have formatted and installed win7 pro 32bit from MS without activation. I plan to install win7 64 bit ultimate - dell oem on it. To check slic version I used slic toolkit 3.2 version, but it did not list slic version (Says- Dump error, slic table not found)- neither did the rw utility 1.4. Could you please help me find the slic or, if it is not there, to create it in my pc.
Best.

I apologize if this is a repost, I did find a similar thread but without a satisfactory result (http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Le...-BIOS-1-16 - the relevant link at the My Digital Life forums is dead). I have a Lenovo x120e with BIOS 1.16 that I need the whitelist removed on to be able to use an aftermarked wifi card (Intel 6235). If more information is needed I'll be happy to supply it.

Thanks a lot.

[REQUEST] Intel RST option rom for W530?

Hey there,

This is my first post so I hope this is going in the right place!

I ordered a Lenovo thinkpad w530, and have had it for a while now. Silly me! I ordered it without the RAID option as a factory installed option, and it appears that they have not installed the option rom. RAID is not a HDD option in my bios, and I am not sure what to do. I have looked around here a bit and on google, but have not found anything. I have tried a bunch of stuff, but have never actually modded a bios myself. when i use RWeverything, it says that i do have an option rom installed though. What should i do? Can anyone here help me out?

Thanks, Kyle

EDITED: Image too small

Also, I have been unable to open this bios with binmod, mmtool, phoenix bios editor, cbrom, or ezh20. It appears to be an Insyde bios.

Here is the link for the bios exe below, it is too big to attach.

Need assistance with a neutered Intel Option ROM that does not allow RAID0.

Hello all!

The new Dell Latitude E6430 BIOS comes with a "neutered" Intel RAID Option ROM that only allows RAID1 Mirroring. Since it's a business oriented machine, it's designed for reliability, hence the neutered RAID1 option only. I've been doing lots of research, but can't seem to find a way to modify the option rom, or upgrade it to the latest available, etc. My intent is to enable RAID0 with dual SATA III 6gb/s SSDs for ultra performance. I've researched it, and the controller definitely supports it. Any Advice?

Hi I have an old Packard Bell Imedia 1508/2 which has a Gigabyte GA-8I915PMD motherboard with Intel chipset i915p/i915g. Now the BIOS is Award version 10f but I cannot find any BIOS updates anywhere.

What i'm really looking to do is to 'unlock' this motherboard in order to upgrade cpu, ram etc and fix some windows 7 compatibility issues.

Any help would be much appreciated as I am currently stuck with this machine and want to make the best of it with some parts I have laying around.

This Bios Is Not For Your Notebook PC" workaround please.

I have an Acer Aspire 5733z laptop which is only a year old. And I would like to see if there is a workaround to get past this annoying message saying "this bios is not for your notebook pc." Because I bet that there is a way to get past this annoying message. Because I really want to download the bios from the Aspire 5742G model. But of course when I get to the Insyde flash screen with the cartoon character, it says "This Bios Is not for Your Notebook PC." Is there a workaround to this?

Because this has to do something with the bios ID or bios string, I believe. Like how do I change that bios ID or string? That's what I would like to know more in details. Can I configure, and change or edit the bios ID in my Insyde flash "platform.ini" file? Is that possible? If it is, please explain this to me more in details. And please do not tell me to only flash my original bios for my Aspire 5733Z.

Because I really do believe that there is a way to not make that "This bios is not for your notebook PC" message go away. Well anyway, please get back to me as soon as possible. And please let me know the procedure on how to do this, very carfully, so I can understand it clearly. I mean this should for almost every bios, only with the Insyde bios chip in my laptop. So that should be no problem here. So please get back to me soon. So thank you very much! Angry Sad
