Unlock HP Elite HPE-360uk & MS-7163

Hi
I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-360uk which has a MS-7613 ver 1.1 motherboard.

I am looking to unllock the BIOS for 2 issues:

The first is HP have disabled the onboard VGA meaning if you remove the PCI graphics card the display doesnt work and the BIOS beeps. This is preventing me from using dual screens as my current graphics card only has one DVI out

The 2nd is I want to overclock the Intel i7 2.89 cpu in the PC, and again the locked bios is stopping me from making the required changes.

More specs on the system can be found at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/produ...2&sw_lang=

Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Sony Vaio VGN-NR110E unlock, modded hardware

I took a standard vaio vgn-nr110e and did some hardware mods and would like to unlock the bios now in order to have full control.
Original specs:
Intel T2310
1gb ddr2 533mhz
Atheros ABG network card (crappy)

New Specs:
Intel T9300
3gb ddr2 800mhz
Intel 6235 WLAN

The chipset is a GL960 and should be able to support the 800 FSB without any problems. My memory is CL 6 however it doesnt register that way. Lavalys register all parts as correct and functioning.

Thank You in advance.

Sorry, the current bios version is r0131j9.

Hi all,

I need help....

2-3 Years ago, I bought may Acer Laptop Aspire 4750G.
Specs:
- intel core i5-2410M 2.3 GHz, turbo boost up to 2.9 GHz
- Nvidia GeForce GT 540M 2 GB, intel HD graphics family
- Memmory ram 8 GB.
- Windows 7 Home premium Service pack 1 64-bit.
- Nvidia optimus

I have been playing old games. But recently I found out that it may be the whole 2-3 years I use my laptop, it never use the GeForce. That may explain some lags when playing certain games. With newer games that provides benchmark, the report always shows that they are testing it using intel HD Graphics family. Never use the GeForce.

New games always lag or not working at all. The Nvidia optimus didn't switch to GeForce in hard/heavy games. I don't know why.

Numerous info scattered in websites/forums. Suggest maximum power or manual right click "run with graphic card" or change the GeForce as default in nvidia control center.

None is work.
- I plugged my laptop on AC power, with maximum power settings
- Changed global settings in nvidia control panel to use the GeForce as preferred graphic card
- Right click game and choose run with graphic processor - Nvidia --> Doesn't work.
- Regardless of all heavy games I run, Nvidia GPU activity: none
- DxDiag shows intel HD not GeForce.
- My GeForce is up to date.
- Disable Intel HD graphic card will give me black screen, no display.

Basically I don't know how to activate the GeForce manually or automatically. Start to wondering is the nvidia optomus is there? How to know if I even have this technology, regardless the sticker on my laptop and the 2 nvidia icons (green logo - control panel and dark box with dots, showing Nvidia GPU activity)

---------------------------------------------------
After searching infos on the internet. I found out that you should be able to choose what VGA card you are using from BIOS.

My BIOS seem to be an old version, No option to boot my windows with Nvidia from the BIOS.

So my question is, how can I use my GeForce?
The warranty is over, I didn't know my laptop didn't use the nvidia card this whole time.

Should I update my Bios? Which makes me asking the second question.
Which one I should install? What should I do before intall it?

My BIOS is
BIOS Version/Date : Phoenix Technologies Ltd. V1.23, 4/28/2011
SMBIOS Version 2.6

I tried to look in:
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

And it confuses me. Why with the latest date, the version number is getting smaller.

Acer BIOS 1.24 - 7.8 MB - 2012/12/26
Acer BIOS 2.19 - 8.0 MB - 2012/04/30
Acer BIOS 2.17 - 7.9 MB - 2012/04/10

Do I have to install all?

Then as I keep searching, I found article that BIOS can be moded. And directs me to ask in this forum.

So, should I update or I only need my BIOS modded?
I'm a newbie by the way. Please help me. Smile

Thank you for your time and your help.

BIOS update suddenly not detecting SATA HDD

I installed the modded bios for the Acer t180 that allows me to overclock. It was working fine, could detect all my HDDs, but when I finished configuring settings and restarted the computer it could only detect my two IDE HDDs and the two SATA ones were gone. Restarted a few times, unplugged AC cord and replugged, but still same thing.

Is this a BIOS problem? Did my hard disks just die somehow (unlikely)?

Help appreciated!

Actually false alarm, I fixed it by resetting BIOS settings.

strange. must have changed a wrong setting by accident.

Help with vBIOS (oprom) integration in Acer 7738g BIOS

Hi all!

I need some help to solve my little issue. I have an Acer Aspire 7738g with Phoenix BIOS and recently bought AMD M5950 MXM video card. The problem is that PCB of this video card doesn't have eeprom chip (which contains vBIOS). I've tried laptops with vBIOS in oprom module in sBIOS - card was working fine. In my situation, my laptop gives me Phoenix BIOS error code: 98h - Search for option ROMs. One long, two short beeps on checksum failure. Which means, that my sBIOS doesn't have required oprom (vBIOS) file.

So, I need your knowledges and experiences to integrate missing oprom for the AMD M5950.

BIOS overclocking options not overclocking

Well, I managed to flash the modded bios for the Acer T180 properly and everything was working fine. I set the FBS from 200 to 220, booted into windows and opened CPU-Z. It didn't display any changes. I also tried changing the voltage and something else and that didn't show up either. The options were saved properly in BIOS, and I tried different combinations of overclocking settings. I turned off cool'n'quiet. Yet nothing seems to be working once into Windows. I searched the internet for a solution but I couldn't find a straightforward answer to my situation. I also looked in the threads here, some people had the same problem but got no solution, even though it seemed to work for others.

Since posting there probably would have ended up being lost, I decided to ask here. Anyone has a clue what's going on with my MB?

Hi guys
i had my laptop with dual GPUs INTEL/ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 which was working and switch just fine on it's original windows 7 home edition.
i installed windows 8 and now i am stuck with the loser Intel HD 3000 , i kept searching till i found that hp fixed this problem by updating the bios of dv6/dv7 laptops to this bios sp54024 which you can find it in the link below.
http://www66.zippyshare.com/v/7836675/file.html
so i can get the option to choose from dynamic GPU switching to fixed GPU switching, but when i ever try to flash this bios the flash tool says this bios doesn't support you notebook.
this is the link to the latest update to my laptop bios 55299 which doesn't support bios switching graphics
