[REQUEST] Lenovo IdeaPad P500 (71CN22WW) BIOS Whitelist Removal

Hey everyone, this is a great forum. I've done a lot of reading on here and other sites regarding this issue. And after downloading several tools to try and do it myself I have determined that this is over my head. I would really appreciate some assistance with this. I have a Lenovo IdeaPad P500 and I just purchased an Intel 6235 Wifi card to get 5GHz only to receive the dreaded 'Unauthorized wireless card' error upon booting up. I'll list all the information I have including a backup file of the current BIOS using Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit 2.0. Currently there are no downloadable BIOS updates from Lenovo for this model. I really want to be able to use the new wifi card I bought. And I am willing to compensate anyone who can modify my BIOS and get it working.

Model - Lenovo IdeaPad P500
BIOS Backup Link - https://www.box.com/s/1tcw57r8t0cairo7kajw
BIOS Type - InsydeH20 Rev 3.7
BIOS Version - 71CN22WW v1.05
Current WiFi Card - Intel Centrino 2230
Hardware ID - PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_42628086
Future WiFi Card (Hopefully) - Intel Centrino 6235

Thanks,

Asus A7Cc laptop bios hidden options (RAM)

Hello,

First i have tried search for some similar questions but with no luck Smile

I want to enable the hidden options in my Asus Laptop (if it have). I have instaled 4GB of ram on it, but AMI bios only shows 2.4GB (Windows 7 sees 4GB but only can manage 2.4GB). It comes with 2GB (2x1GB) but intel i945 chip supports the 4GB.

I tried to install only one ram modulo (1x2GB) and my BIOS detected all the 2GB...

I have tried the AMI TOOL but can't figure out what really need to do with it.

I need some ram mapping on that bios or trying to access to some hidden option sow i can enable the entire ram on it.

There is the last bios from asus:
Last BIOS from ASUS to A7Cc model

Ability to access all settings - CPU, RAM , Video & all the rest.If that is possible?

Hi Guys,
Rick is the name. I am a newbie on this forum but I am no stranger to them in general. I'm pretty sure this is the right place to post this new thread but if I am wrong, I hope It will be moved and not deleted an I only get told off.Blush
By the way Hi to everybody and I hope somebody can help me out with my problem, which is frustrating.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 12Q a PSK1EE model. It has an intel i5 dual core and I just upgraded it to 8 Gig of Ram. I have had it from new (2010) and it has been Ok-ish but never great in terms of speed. It came with 4 GB ram and I hoped I would see a slight improvement in speed but no. It scored 4.7 on the windows performance test but that has dropped to 4.3 for some reason... That is because the lowest sub score is 4.3 (2D graphics performance) I recently installed the latest Tombraider game but it is virtually unplayable because of the stuttering.

I'll get right to the point. The Bios totally sucks, there are only 4 or 5 things you can change and none of them are any real importance apart from toggling between IDE and AHCI. My old desk top has standard phoenix bios and you can change everything - Ram configuration, graphics, CPU Clock and frequency. you name it, it is all there.

I have attached the latest version of the stock bios 2.40 which I didn't bother flashing because when I flashed 2.30 couple of weeks ago, it nearly killed the computer!. Something to do with Windows 8 not liking to run on a bios that it was not installed on. It came with Windows 7 64 Ultimate. I like Windows 8 but I mostly use it with classic shell. Fortunately I have Hiren's utilities boot CD and I ran a professional version of chkdsk that repaired all the file errors. it was pretty messed up I can tell you, and I was very relieved when I managed to boot up to the CD.

Is/are there any geniuses out there that can mod this bios file for me please....? It's going to be a long time before I will be able to afford to buy a new PC. I just built a house, which has drained every last penny out of me and left me in a lot of debt and no income at the moment so bankruptcy is looming Sad
I would like to be able to edit pretty much everything definately overclock the CPU and graphics an hopefully assign some more RAM to it - is that possible? it only has 64Mb of dedicated ram, the rest is shared system memory which i have plenty of. There is no PCI express port, just USB 2.0 and an esata port so an external video card is not an option. I want to be able to get into the video bios too.
I just want to try and get this thing running as fast as it can cope with because game playing is currently my escape from reality at the moment and My XBox died. I repaired it a couple of times but it has had it now.

Sorry to waffle on a bit, I'm just a very talkative person (not annoyingly) and I am hoping somebody can put a smile on my face for a change. If you can mod this bios, I will flash it and most probably have to repair the file system again but this time it will be well worth itSmile

Really, really hope somebody can help me out here Smile

I would to like add Cpu support to my Dell XPS 400. The intel d945gccrg1 is a motherboard that list support for E2xxx and E4xxx 65nm 800mhz Core 2 Duo processors and has the same chipset I believe. The link for the D945GCCRG1 bios is http://support.gateway.com/us/en/emac/pr...delId=1458
The link for the XPS 400 bios is http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/e...ageCode=en The cpuid for the E4600 is 06FDh The cpuid for the E2160 is 06FDh. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as it's well beyond my skillset. Thanks in advance.

I read somewhere the d945gccrg1 board would support 65nm 1066 MHz processors as well but have found any documentation yet. The cpuid of an E6750 is 06FBh. Might be worth a shot.

hey im just wondering if there is a way to modify the compatibility table of this acer aspire Motherboard to allow a AMD turion x64 and a Memorex (MT16HTF25664HY-800E1) ram ddr2 2gb 800mhz stick.

thankx in advance Smile

the original CPU is a AMD athlon x64 and a the original ram is a Nannya ddr2 666mhz. i was just wondering if it was posible because i have a turion x64 laying around and since they are the same generation it could work. i tried it but the computer didnt work. so i thought it was something to do with the compatibility table since the CPU and ram work perfectly.

[Request] Sony VAIO FZ21M Phoenix R1120J7

Hello guys, I've discovered this forum just yesterday and I'm wondering if someone here is able to completely unlock the Phoenix R1120J7 bios extracted from my old Sony Vaio FZ21M.

The thing is that, even if I've just enabled VT by myself with a little reg edit years ago, I wanna try to succesfully install (once and for all) an alternative operating system (aka OSX) without the annoying graphics issue that all VAIOs have, probably due to the internal power management for Sony's display.

I probably need the hidden menu for the display and/or for graphics (I have the Nvidia Geforce 8400M GT) and the one for AHCI mode... I don't know which menus are hidden into this very limited Phoenix Bios, but if someone can check this out, it'd be great! Smile

Thanks!!!

P.S. I've used the Universal Bios Backup software to extract the .rom file (around 1mb).

[REQUEST] Include VIA controller in Intel DZ68BC BIOS

I bought a VIA VT6421A SATA/PATA controller card in order to boot with an old IDE drive on a newer Intel motherboard. I found where others have modified there MOBO BIOS with a VIA BIOS file to make the card bootable but I have not had any luck finding an editor for Intel BIOSes that is capable of adding support for other hardware. Any help in overcoming this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Here are the files that I am referring to:
