So I was wondering if there are any tools or tutorials on how to update the microcode of those BIOS? I have tools to unlock, thanks to some very useful threads here Heart

However I'd also like to know how to add microcode updates, which those tools and tutorials don't cover Sad

Help: wrong Bios installed. PC is still working!

Greetings from Taiwan.
Because of meltdown i wanted to update my bios from my board. Unfortunately, i was able to install the wrong Bios. I have a
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG...-I-GAMING/
and i installed the bios from
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG...-I-GAMING/

Both boards look totally the same. Only one small number is changed. I installed the bios under windows with the AI Suite. The Installation works without any error. After reboot my pc told me that the bios is damaged and it wants to install the bios again from the Z370-I(Version 0606). Now it doesn’t accept anymore the bios from the Z 270-I.  I try a lot but the only way to boot up my PC was to install again the wrong bios from the Z370-I. My PC is running without any bugs. Performance is very good and stable. But my PC is thinking that i have a new mainboard. I’m afraid that I will have later on some problems with drivers and windows. Asus don’t want to help me.  I see 2 options for me. One is faking the bios signature from the Z270-i. That it looks like the Z370-I Bios. So, when my pc checks for the right bios it can’t see the difference. Or I’m in some way able to install the z270-i bios and the check for the right bios is disabled. Maybe there is a way to install a bios with disabled version check. I live in Taiwan and I can’t speak Chinese. I came from Germany. So, to give back the board will be very complicated. The other thing is I have a very small case and a custom water-cooling system inside. It took me days to assemble my PC. It will be aa big pain in the a….. to disassemble it and assemble it again later. I’m very sure there must be an easy software solution. You are my last hope for this problem. The Bios is an AMI bios. Maybe you know a solution.
Greetings and THX, Steffen Krüger.

Hallo

I managed to update the bios of my T61 one month ago to sussesfully get my atheros WLan card to work.
Now i bought a used BJPDYC / BCM970015 video decoder, but when insalled in the PCIe the laptop wount boot,
different to the WLAN white list issue with no message an no screen at all.
but beep 1short/4short/1short/1short.
When i install the card, (please forive me :'), on the running system, the card work's fine untill next power off when the laptop wount boot again.

There are many users on the net repoting no problems unsing the BCM970015 on lenovo laptops???
Is there a difference between the BCM970015 and the 0JPDYC (BCM970015 based chip by dell i bought)
I try to rebuild the custom rom, when the white list changed (WLAN message agin) but not the Fn switch????
So flashed again with the mod.

And now is the used pcie card broken? or is there a problem with the BCM9700 and lenovo or with the bios update???

I am using a 8895-A26 lenovo thinkpad
windows 7 professional 64bit
windows 7 professional 32bit secomnd partition
Bios data 2.29 7LETC9WW (2011-3-18)
Update used Dual-IDA_SATA-II_Whitelist_SLIC21_Thermal_Sensing_Error_ThinkPad_T61_T61p_BIOS_(2.20-1.08) with Fn switch

P.s i found fireware updates for the BCM9700 in rpm format (maybe for linux redhead) found nothing on the net how to use rpm files in windows for a firmeware update.

It is my first reguest here so many thaks in advance

Lenovo Y50-70 doesn't boot with original 2x4GB RAM sticks after bios mod

$

Hello, yesterday I requested a bios mod for my Lenovo Y50-70 (bios version 1.13) to unlock hidden bios pages and remove whitelist, for a hackintosh build.
The mod flashing went just fine but after changing some settings in the bios required for a hackintosh build (Secure boot: disabled, VT-d:disabled, Fan slow speed:75(original) to 60) and rebooting the laptop got stuck in a boot loop where it would power on with black screen for 4-5 seconds, than shut down, than power back on after 3-4 seconds and so on.
I than proceeded to try reaching the bios by resetting CMOS, changing ram position, unconnecting battery, totally remove ram, but nothing worked.
This until Dudu2002 (who kindly made the bios mod) told me via mail to try replacing original 2x4GB ram modules with some other module, I replaced them with a 1x4GB module I had from another computer (same DDR3L but 1333 instead of original 1600), and it finally booted.
I went to bios and changed settings back to default, put original 2x4GB modules back in and it went back to the boot loop, then tried 1x original module + 1x other module from other computer and it booted (also tried with the other one, so both them works and get recognized by bios and windows, so they're not broken) but no matter what, if i try to boot with 2x original modules or just 1x original module I get stuck in boot loop, it seems to require the other module from another computer in order to boot (either alone or together with one of the original modules).
I also tried reflashing original lenovo 1.13 bios and most recent original bios, and reflashing the bios mod, but the problem remains.
What could possibly be causing this issue? if both the original modules are not broken, why would it require a module coming from another computer in order to boot? if this is bios dependent, why reflashing the bios mod, or even reflashing the original bios doesn't resolve the issue?
Any idea?
This is the bios mod: https://mega.nz/#!KhkUSSJQ!NVP0BVyamsrn4...xXLnO2jWQ0
Thank you very much, I hope it's clear.

Hi, I have bought a new HP Envy x360 15-bq108ca. I just need one thing, virtualization options in my BIOS. I need IOMMU ( AMD-Vi ). I also need RVI too if there is an option. I'm not sure if there would be an advanced tab in the BIOS for these.

My BIOS firmware is as follows: AMI F.13, 2017-11-10
You may get a link for the bios here: Main Driver Page
or a direct link: Direct Link

Thanks! I hope that you may help =)

Asus ROG G70s Bios update failed

Hi there,

I do not know if this is the right place to ask for help but here goes:

Last night I have downloaded the latest update for my laptop revision 207 and extracted to an 8GB FAT32 formatted USB thumb drive.

I have rebooted and entered the Bios settings menu and selected the option Start Easy Flash.

I Have selected the bios File and started the whole process. It has erased, flashed and it kept giving me the information "Verification error"

I left it there and it kept doing that. At a certain point I was presented with the following message "The system will POST"

It booted straight to windows 10 without rebooting which was kind of weird, since it did not shutdown or reboot as usual.

After booting up I have installed CPU-Z and went to check what revision was installed. It showed up revision 206.

So I have downloaded the bios again and placed it on the same USB thumb drive and rebooted the laptop.

The Laptop does not POST now.

Is there any way to solve this?

Thank you all

Hi guys, I'm trying to unlock the chipset and advanced menus in the bios of my Jumper EZBook 3 PRO but without success.

I started by editing the "Setup" module from this

Code:
0x159BB         Suppress If {0A 82}
0x159BD             True {46 02}
0x159BF             Ref: Advanced, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0xFFFF, VarStore: 0x0, QuestionId: 0x2, FormId: 0x2712 {0F 0F 1E 00 02 00 02 00 00 00 FF FF 00 12 27}
0x159CE         End If {29 02}
0x159D0         Suppress If {0A 82}
0x159D2             True {46 02}
0x159D4             Ref: Chipset, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0xFFFF, VarStore: 0x0, QuestionId: 0x3, FormId: 0x2713 {0F 0F 1F 00 02 00 03 00 00 00 FF FF 00 13 27}

to this

Code:

0x159BD             False {47 02}
0x159BF             Ref: Advanced, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0xFFFF, VarStore: 0x0, QuestionId: 0x2, FormId: 0x2712 {0F 0F 1E 00 02 00 02 00 00 00 FF FF 00 12 27}
0x159CE         End If {29 02}

    This one is an older hardware/software revision that wasn't factory locked.
    I added this just for comparison.
