Lenovo IdeaPad P500 BIOS Recovery!

Hi all, I need help, I need to recover the bios on my laptop, and I've read through all the BIOS Recovery threads for Insyde systems and I'm having no luck performing the recovery via usb. I'm not sure if the procedure is correct for my model. the recovery threads state to press the windows keys and the B key, although I have learned for my laptop I need to press the Fn key and the R or B key. The fan does spin up on the laptop. I'm just unsure if I should have the battery pack plugged in or not, usb is currently formatted to 960MB, Bios tool recovery name was VIWZ1.bin which I have. Also need direction on which USB port I should be using.

I also have the SOIC 8 clip and CH431a programmer coming tomorrow, I have succesfully located the BIOS chips on the motherboard and am prepared to flash the chips if necessary. My questions are since there are 2 physical BIOS chips, do they both get flashed with the same exact ROM? Also which software and drivers should I use for this CH341a programmer.

Unlocked BIOS PHOENIX v3.30 from neighbor thread.
Hello. I have a problem. This model of TOSHIBA has such "cool staff" - the videochip is in place like a cutlet in 'Big Mac' and by the same copper tube is united with the CPU. So temperature of videochip is always about ~6-8°C higher than the CPU temperature.

So I need a help. Can someone please edit the temperature trigger for cooler in bios?
Simple words, I would like that the speed on >=40°C will be same as it on ~60°C now... but if it is not a problem - can you write here what a cooler trigger temperatures are in bios now before you'll edit them ? - then I can suppose which values I would like to be set exactly.

I know that I simple can cut the yellow wire of the cooler... but this is the last way.

[REQUEST] Lenovo B590 CPU upgrade to i7

Hello all,

I tried installing an Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU (spec code QC0R) to my Lenovo B590 62742BG laptop, but it wouldn't boot. I double checked everything, but as soon as I inserted my old i5-3210M CPU everything started working again. 

According to this list, my chipset (Intel HM77 Express) should support the i7-3610QM CPU: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chi...press.html

However, according to my laptop's hardware maintenance manual, only the following CPUs are suported:

Is it possible to add support for the Intel Core i7-3610QM (spec code QC0R) in the BIOS somehow?

I need to upload bios 1.16 repairing battery is charging.
Unfortunately, when I try to extract .exe or change options disappear bios itself.

Is anyone able to extract the bios of ZHK116.exe or change an option in platform.ini?

[REQUEST] Toshiba L50-C1957 NO RAM Speed Settings

I flashed 1.20 to 1.40 then my RAM speed was slowed from 1600Mhz to 1333Mhz

No setting in UEFI to change speed of RAM.

I don't need you to unclock it (I'm not geeky when it comes to computer, but if that's the only way then unlock the changing of RAM speed settings, but I prefer not to), if someone can modify the Bios 1.40 so when I flash it RAM Speed will be back to normal 1600Mhz.

[REQUEST] Toshiba Satelite Pro L450 - Upgrade to T7800

Hello, hopefully someone can assist me.

I have successfully upgraded my Toshiba L450 from a T5870 to a T7800 cpu. 

It works fine but on boot up it states "No microcode update loaded for alternate processor" press F1, 
when I do this W10 boots up fine

I have updated the Bios from V1.2 to V1.5 but the problem persists 

I've attached the installed Bios v 1.5 and the CPUID screenshot.

[Request] Lenovo ThinkPad P50/P70 Hidden Menu

Lenovo has hidden quite a few useful menus from ThinkPad P50/P70 BIOS menus.  Two of them are:

1) ECC Memory support
Unless you purchase the (crazy expensive) Lenovo ECC memory when ordering the laptop, Lenovo will hide the ECC memory support menu (even though the CPU/Chipset/Motherboard supports it).

2) RAID
Same as above.  Unless you purchase the Lenovo drives when ordering the laptop, Lenovo will hide the RAID menu (even though the CPU/Chipset/Motherboard supports it).

I'm a newbie and was wondering how difficult it is to unlock the hidden menus.

Greetz! I tried do it by my own, but it was unsuccesfull.  Got 017FC.bin from HP flasher, dumped by it latest phoenixtool266, found bit sequence 14 18 92 35 3C 10 38 16, and replaced 86 80 91 00 86 80 01 52, than got 017FC_SLIC.bin and tried to flash it (by FLASHIT and by original "Insyde Flasher"). And i cant do it, i get only error: "The BIOS image is corrupted or does not contain the correct digital signature. The system BIOS will not be updated." So, please, help me:

-Bios revision: F.1C
-Bios Type: EFI

Can somebody walk me through the process of flashing a modded bios since no tool flashes them due to failed security check or something similar.

Also let me know the specific version of the tool used to flash the modded bios.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-31

Hi,

I'm trying to unlock some settings in my Toughbook BIOS, mostly related to iGPU/dGPU (Dynamic/Fixed Mode).

I've had a shot at it myself, first dumping the ROM, extracting the Setup from it and having a look at the strings with Universal IFR Extractor. Unforunately while it says that there are 8 Form Sets, it does not seem to be able to extract their titles and so I am stuck.

The laptop has both an Intel HD 4000 integrated GPU and an AMD Radeon 7750m.

I've attached my original BIOS dump - if somebody wouldn't mind please having a look at it and either unlocking it themselves or giving me some pointers on how to do it myself I'd really appreciate it!

Toshiba C655D-S5300 (PSC0YU)

Hi,

I flashed a custom BIOS to see if I can get virtualization turned on.  The flash went successful and I can access the bios settings.  The problem I have is I cannot boot into any windows even a Windows XP boot CD.  I can boot to a FreeDOS USB Drive so I figured I can run the flash from there.  All the flash utilities require windows, so I tried FLashIt and I get the dreaded "FADT not found!" error.  I assume ACPI related per other threads

I have tried various combinations to get the laptop to boot into crisis mode without success.  I have tried combinations of the Fn or Windows Keys and B, W, Esc, R, F, End, and maybe some others.  I have even tried the combinations with holding down the power button prior to pluggin in the power cord.  However it never even seems to power on, that is I see the power connect LED light up but the laptop never starts and illuminates the power on led.  The fan doesn't start...nothing.

Has someone ever gotten this laptop to flash after the FADT error?  is there another way I can flash this?  Anyone ever successfully enter crisis mode and get it to flash?
