Newbie needs help please - Toshiba whitelist?

This is the first time I've ever run into this problem. Upgrading wifi card, but Intel 7265 AC "won't start". Here goes:

Toshiba Satellite S55 comes with Azurewave NGFF M.2 card with Broadcom BCM943142Y. I'm assuming it's 2.4GHz only because it did not see my 5 GHz network. I swapped it out with better Intel 7265 AC NGFF M.2 wifi card. I can install the drivers fine, but cannot connect and device manager shows yellow triangle. Error says device cannot start and a cryptic "Code 10". Upon further research of the problem, I find out that some manufacturers have a "whitelist" for wifi cards and this may be the problem.

BIOS is crap. I don't think I've ever seen a BIOS this basic before. It's so simple and no real tweakable settings. It's called "Toshiba Setup Utility". There are no settings to assist me with the problem. I'm assuming that the new wifi card is not on the whitelist, but I do not know how to verify it.

So here are my questions:
1. How can I find out which wifi cards are on the whitelist?
2. Is there any way to modify this BIOS to add the new wifi card or disable the whitelist?
3. I've heard of manually taping contacts to bypass the disable feature. Is this possible with my scenario?
4. If I am S.O.L., can I use a USB 3.0 wifi adapter without running into the same problem?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!!!

CPU-Z lists BIOS brand as INSYDE, version 2.0, date 12/11/2014.

Request: Acer Aspire 5730ZG unlock and some advice

Hi, Please read.
I have an Aspire 5730ZG laptop and I recently upgraded from the original Intel Dual Core T3200 2.0GHz processor
to a Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4GHz. The new CPU works fine, most of the time... When playing games the CPU works great, but sometimes for some reason the laptop shuts down and the clock drops to 1.6 GHz and then I have to restart the BIOS settings to get it working again. First time I tought the CPU got overheated, but the second time it happened it did not even start to get hot. So I think with the unlocked BIOS controls I could get it working fine. If you have some advice about what might be wrong with the CPU change, I would be grateful. I have no money to buy another pc and I have to make this one work properly. Thank you very much!

Here are my system specs:

Acer Aspire 5730ZG

O.S.: Windows 8.1 64 bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4GHz (Upgraded from: Intel Dual Core T3200 2.0GHz)
RAM: 4GB DDR2 (Upgraded from 2GB)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS
Motherboard Model: Acer Eiger Chipset: Intel PM45

BIOS Version: Phoenix Technologies V1.23

Thanks much for the help!

I looked at a thread here on this model and BD master gave links for tools to upload bios but they were corrupt? Anyway, got error 7-zip unsupported when attempting to launch the exe. He gave a link for a rom file too. Not sure if it was right.

Do you have a suggestion?

[REquest] Aopen Digital Engine DEX4501 -- Mobo I45GMT-HC

$

This machine has AMI BIOS ver. 2.06, with very few options enabled.

Latest version of the Bios is ver. R. 1.06 downloadable here:
http://global.aopen.com/products_download.aspx?auno=2890

In addition to a little more control, I also seem to have problems with the onboard NIC. I wondered if there had been something set to deactivate the NIC while it was in the field, and whatever that might be is not getting reset when flashing?

When I got the machine it had a branded splash screen and an older bios version. Flashing it to 1.06 gave me the Aopen "Digital Engine" splash screen, but I really struggled to activate the Nic. I did a clear Cmos, remove battery and "Load Optimal Setings" before it would activate. I just swapped in a faster processor, and the Nic stopped working again, and I had another struggle to get it working.  (I used the AFUDOS filename.ROM  /P /B /N /C recommended by Aopen.) I thought I might have better luck if I flashed it at the first released bios, but that did nothing either.

There is a companion bios for a slightly different I45GMt motherboard (have one of those as well)--and it is at release 1.07 here. I can see no difference in functionality and in fact tried this bios on the DEX4501 as well, but it too did not magically make the NIC work.
It is here:
http://global.aopen.com/products_download.aspx?auno=2664
(No troubles with the NIC on this one; it has the MoDT splash screen)

A modded bios for both or just for the DEX4501 would be appreciated.

{Request} ASUS N10J and N10JH (NX enable and SLIC 2.1)

Hello
I have two Netbooks an ASUS N10J and ASUS N10Jh

I have checked the CPU info for both their CPUs
Intel Atom N270 and Intel Atom N280 and they both support NX bit

The problem I have is that its not turned on in the BIOS and there is no option to activate this feature.

Please can someone modify both AMI BIOS's to enable this feature so I can install windows 10 onto these machines.

Also would it be possible to add a SLIC 2.1 table to both these BIOS's for Windows 7 Installation.

I have captured both Bios's using BACKUP_Tools12 and Universal Bios Backup and attached both files links here :

Asus N10J - BIOS Backup https://www.sendspace.com/file/wmku40

Asus N10Jh - BIOS Backup https://www.sendspace.com/file/vovacg

n.b The "Universal Bios Backup Tool" seems to be malware infected and drops its payload into %temp% when run.

Many Thanks

I tried like 48 hours to modify this bios with SLIC.

This is bios
It is hard to find, so I attached it

.bin   PBL.BIN (Size: 4.13 MB / Downloads: 0)

Below is RW everything report

.bin   AcpiTbls.rw.BIN (Size: 368.47 KB / Downloads: 1)

the board does not permit .rw extension so I just changed it to .bin
Original filename is : AcpiTbls.rw

I was given success message with Phoenixtool256, but after I flash the modded BIOS
It does not activate, so I checked AIDA64 for SLIC table under ACPI, and it never gets modified
I tried acer, but it never changed to acer, it stays "Insyde"

There are many samsug phone users, and we should form a habit to backup text messages and contacts to computer, in case we delete them by accident. I'll guide you how to bakcup samsung galaxy text messages to computer easily with Coolmuster Android Assistant.

Step 1:Connect Android Phone to PC
The first thing you need to do is to download and install the Android file manager on your PC and launch it. The next is connecting your Android phone to PC via the usb cable. Then the info of your phone will be shown on an interface.

If this is the first time you connect your android phone to computer, you shoule enable the USB debugging. You can follow the guide to open the USB bugging: Enter "Settings" < Click "Applications" < Click "Development" < Check "USB debugging".

Step 2Tonguereview messages and Start Export
You can find many icons on the top, find "Contacts" and click it, then go to "SMS", all messages on your android phone will be listed on the right. Then select and check you want to transfer, at last click "Backup" to start the work. And these messages were saved as .txt format on your computer.

That's all!
