is the right section for flashing/mod help?

hello all, i recently got this computer for free from my step dad. he had a student of his flash/overclock it and i had to reinstall windows on it because it was an old school computer of his he had purchased.


im wondering(and i assume) if my bios is still the flashed version that supports overclocking, and if theres tools or managment for the cores that i can get again? there was a program "unlockbios" or something that i forgot to save to a disk before i wiped everything but would like to have some control of the computer rihgt now and if need be default everything back to a more "normal clock speed, cores ect. basically stock.

HP EliteBook 8570p Whitelist removal help

Hello folks,

I have a 8570p and recently bought a Sierra MC8775 which is not working, I'm getting the famous 703 Module not compatible message.

Can anyone help me and remove the whitelist?

The BIOS is F.61, and here's the link to the download.

I have actually followed the guide on how to unpack the Insyde BIOS, but I fail at disassembly and actually removing the whitelist.

Please, help me with this. If you need anything else, just ping me, I'll suply more info.

Lenovo K300 Motherboard Help

I'm a huge noob when it comes to motherboards and bios in general, so please don't flame me too hard. I have a lenovo Ideacentre k300 5316 and My main question is if there is anyway to install a modified bios that would allow the ability to overclock the CPU. It currently has an intel e5800 3.2 ghz dual core but I want to install a q6600 quad core and overclock it

Hello.

I'm trying to flash a bios on my laptop. When I execute the command it holds for a few seconds and then clears to a next line for command prompt.

Any way around this?

I tried AFUWIN in the desktop environment but it says unable to erase flash.

Unlock VRAM is Aspire One 532H

Hi can someone here help.

I have a Aspire One that I want to delegate to duties driving a 3D printer. Problem is that the software will not run as there is not enough video memory. In the bios it is fixed at 8MB and I need to adjust this up.

I saw this post and within it I saw that camiloml had a modded bios in his bios repository but this does not have the video ram setting unlocked.

Can someone help with unlocking the video memory settings.

Hey guys.. Lovely site ive been here loads as a guest and found some nifty unlocked bioses for a few laptops of mine.

I've recently purchased an L50-A [PSKL6A] and i'm running http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/file/download/resource/file/24603/l50t-a(10fg)_bios_w140.exe (v1.40-Insyde) and have found there aren't much to change around to be honest, was wondering if anyone could possibly unlock a few settings if applicable, also my laptop has the changeable graphics from intel-nvidia that is from what ive heard in the bios but cannot see it anywhere. I know its an old motherboard but its my first and I want to give it an faster cpu. Its a ECS RC 410L 800-m v 2.0 and i cant seem to find any mods for bios the socket is a 775 and I have a Intel core 2 duo that supports 775 its just the bios dont.and while im adding to the wish list is there a mod to support windows 8 thank Smile

BIOS Flash now Acer Aspire M5-581T-6807 will not boot

Good Morning All,
I flashed the bios on my Acer Aspire M5-581T-6807 and now the PC will not boot. I power it on and get the Acer logo-but after about 5 seconds it shuts down then comes back up....over and over and over. I have to power it down by holding the power button. I have been researching on how to fix-but I am so confused how to perform the bios recovery..
There are only to BIOS versions located on the Acer website for my laptop. bios version 1.12 and bios version 2.11. I believe this is Insyde bios. It came with Windows 8, but upgraded to Windows 8.1.

I was hoping for some help.
I keep seeing mention of a Crisis disk and to extract 'raw' files and rename files. To format a usb drive-with fat or fat32....do I take out the battery?... etc.
I would be extremely appreciative if you can help me.
I have attached both bios files that are provided by acer website.
