Serial port redirection (console on serial port)

Hi,

I want to make a server based on an MSI K9N SLI mainboard and for this purpose a serial console is very useful indeed. Now, according to AMIBIOS ROM Utilities User Guide, BIOS module ID "2F" is reserved for a "Serial Redirection" module. I assume this is what I want. I've tried opening the BIOS in MMTOOL and it does not contain a module with ID 2F. Is getting a serial console on this mainboard just a matter of adding the right module to the BIOS or is there more to it?

Any and all advise (and BIOS mods Tongue) greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Alienware m5790 AHCI unlock Bios [request]

Hi all,

First sorry for my english...
I have laptop Alienware m5790. I want to mount in this laptop SSD hard disk. In the bios there is no AHCI option. On the laptop motherboard are two controllers:
a) VIA VT6421A RAID Controller

b) Intel 82801GBM Controller Hub (ICH7M) - this controller in hardware support AHCI mode

I would like to in bios:
1) totally disabled in bios VIA VT6421A RAID Controller
2) enabled in bios only Intel 82801GBM Controller Hub (ICH7M)
3) add on this laptop bios Intel AHCI Option ROM BIOS compatible with Intel 82801GBM Controller Hub (ICH7M)
4) disabled in bios combined mode PATA-SATA and have only SATA or where possible enhanced mode
5) add new option in laptop bios: AHCI mode

Below is attached WPH bios files.

Please help me to make changes to the laptop bios.

Hello

i want to integrate the bootmanager from http://www.plop.at in my bios. cause the original bios is unable to boot from usb.
on the website is a information that this is possible with a option rom.

But that's all Chinese to me. Have tried to understand, but had to capitulate. I'm just too stupid.

main problem is: the original bios file is a .WPH and i can not open this file i a editor.

So I used the "universal bios backup toolkit" to make a backup and get a .rom file.

this I was able to open in the phoenix bios mod tool.

But here I am unable to continue.

Do not know how I need to integrate the plop.at OPROM now.

and as from the .rom file make a .wph file?
the flash tool only supports wph files.


can somebody help me please?

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone here could help me by unlocking my Gateway BIOS?

It's a Gateway M-7305u Laptop that I have brought back to life with a new CPU and RAM.

The only thing is that the RAM is not running at full speed and would like to have advance settings to make this possible.

HI ALL, i have a asus p5n32-e-sli, i download a bios from here posted which was to allow xeon E5450 mod...unfortunatley the bios i have is the latest 0903....it will not allow any back dtaed bios to be added as warning displayed.....now its bios is displayed as phoenix award on the opening bios screen...i have not alot of heads up on this so i know how to use easy flash in the bios itself......hence the error....removed the bios chip battery the jumper every thing to no avail.....is this actually possible as its cpu socket is modded and the xeon chip adaptor is on the chip correctly ready to go. i am using a duo 2.4 to enable usage to boot and 2 gigs of pc8500 1066mhs ocz sli memory and 1 gtx 26o until sli is enabled...thanks to anyone who can shed some light..this is for a stand alone render rigg hence the xeon mod required

I have a little problem to solve, and I think you are the guys to resolve this, my kind last resort, I may say.
I brought a new intel wlan card for my laptop, a Lenovo 580(20150), because the old one seems to get prematurely at its end electronic journey(God knows why). But when I the new beautiful intel wireless N-7260 was installed and hooked, a godlike message appears on my display: ''Unauthorised wireless card detected. Power off and remove it''.
Aren't that so marvelous?!
Finally I find that Lenovo, decide in his geat wisdom no to give a single flying f*ck for products that are not serviced or branded by Lenovo. In that momment I barely resist not to fall into the darkside temptation and not to smash my dear laptop in pieces.
So guys, appears my BIOS need to be modded, and this is the place to go for it. I was watching a few tutorials read some info about the programms but I'll rather let professionals to make the job well done, and not risking my ''expertise'' on that tiny little chip and risking to brick it.

So I have a question. Would it be okay to have my BIOS that was uploaded modded so it can allow me to use any WLAN card for my Lenovo Y50-70 laptop. Also, can you give me more options.

A donation will be sent to whoever can do this, and if you can give me a simple instruction guide (as I'm not sure how to flash the BIOS with the same version BIOS).

Okay so what's happening is that my laptop is getting older therefore it can't keep up it the games or the small multitasking I do making my producticity lower.
So I would like to request a modded BIOS that could unlock possible hidden features,a possible fan and voltage control for my GPU and a RAM overclock?
Anyway I'm not an expert at modding BIOS(or even a newbie)that's why I came here asking for help,so could anyone try to mod this BIOS?

P.S:I know there's already a post about this BIOS but no one seems to even have tryed to mod it.

I am new here but I have a laptop and I just want to set the ram ddr3 clock to 1866 MHZ from 1600 MHZ which my new ram is suppose to be.
