Tools to mod DV6-3000 series

Hello,
I need help pls. I have 2 specialty motherboards DV6-4000 series neither one of the boards have any informations in the bios, such as Model number, Product number, System Board number and PCID number and I need the tools to reprogram those info's into the bios or mainly I want to restore the switchable graphics that disappeared. If I could restore my graphics, the board info's won't be necessary then. I have searched everywhere online for answers but came out empty. I see that this is a common issue for HP devices. Thank you in advance.

Hello,
I just got a GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 and want to use it with my Ryzen 5 3600. But it seems the bios is too old to support the processor. Considering the Gigabyte website, I need at least the F40 update installed on my motherboard for this CPU. Unfortunately, I don't have a compatible CPU to do this BIOS update. Sad
I managed to extract my bios with my programmer but I'm not sure if it's possible to update it myself before flashing it back in the motherboard?

I am looking to get my BIOS whitelist removed, and if possible any other features unlocked. I have looked through the forums and been unable to find a solution for this particular laptop. I can get a software dump of the BIOS, but I don't know if that is useful or if I will need a USB programmer and appropriate cable for a hardware dump.

Hallo zusammen

Ich möchte gerne in meinen guten und treuen Laptop eine neue CPU einbauen. Sehr wahrscheinlich lässt es das Bios nicht zu.

Die jetzige CPU ist eine Intel Mobil Core 2 Duo P8700 mit 2x 2,53 GHz.

Nach eigenen Recherchen könnte der Chipsatz eine höhere CPU ansteuern.

Mir ist bewusst, das es bei einem Laptop schwierig ist eine deutlich höher leistende CPU einzubauen.

Faktoren wie, Netzteil, Spannungswandler und Kühlung sind oft KO Kriterien, um dies realisieren zu können.

Ganz geschweige, das der Preis einer neuen CPU oftmals den Gegenwert für einen neueren Laptop übersteigt.

Da mein Laptop nun ca. 14 Jahre auf dem Buckel hat und mit Windows 10, 8GB RAM und einer SSD immer noch klar kommt, wäre bei einem Tausch der CPU von 2 Kern auf 4 Kerne jetzt die Zeit gekommen.

Ich habe mir eine geprüfte Intel Mobil Core 2 Extrem QX9300 (SLB5J für Sockel P) mit 4x 2,53 GHz für unter 100€ zugelegt und einfach mal eingebaut.

Laut Infoblatt von Intel:

Hat der Core 2 Duo P8700 mit dem roten (rosa) Sockel P einen TDP Wert von 25W, einen VID-Spannungsbereich von 1.00V - 1.25V und einen TJUNCTION bis 105°C.

Hat der Core 2 Extrem QX9300 für den roten (rosa) Sockel P einen TDP Wert von 45W, einen VID-Spannungsbereich von 1.050V-1.175V und einen TJUNCTION bis 100°C.

Der Laptop bleibt mit dem QX9300 bei einem schwarzen Bildschirm. Der Lüfter dreht sich und alles ist Korrekt zusammen gebaut. Bei der Gegenprobe mit dem P8700 zeigt sich sofort der Bildschirm und ich komme auch ins Bios.

BIOS ist aktuell auf der Deutschen Homepage Version 203 vom 02.12.2009 (16.10.2009) zu bekommen.

As title shows...my BIOS is already unlocked and I have access to most hidden submenus except for the CPU submenu which is completely empty...BIOS image attached.

This is for a VAIO VGN-FZ485

Hi. I have Asus X401A and I wanted to upgrade the CPU to i5-2350M but it doesn't turn on. The flashes are on but the screen is completely off.

The one I have on board is in the following picture. Please help.
I am a newbie in here and dunno what to do. I know I somehow have to get the dump but dunno yet how to.
I decided to buy the CPU after reading the post

Hello. I am looking for a modified BIOS for a laptop HP model Pavillion DV5-1168er with an unlocked ability to control the voltage of the processor / the north bridge and a disabled whitelist.
There is a topic (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...IOS-Unlock) where this BIOS was loaded. All links don't work.
Please, a big request to post this BIOS. I can donate.

This site has a BIOS version for my laptop with the whitelist disabled. Here is the download link:

Hello, everyone

I would like to install a new CPU in my good and trusty laptop.  The bios probably doesn't allow it.

The current CPU is an Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P8700 with 2x 2.53 GHz.

According to our own research, the chipset could control a higher CPU.

I am aware that it is difficult to install a significantly higher performing CPU in a laptop.

Factors such as power supply, voltage converter and cooling are often KO criteria in order to be able to realize this.

Not to mention that the price of a new CPU often exceeds the value of a newer laptop.

Since my laptop is now about 14 years old and can still handle Windows 10, 8GB RAM and an SSD, now is the time to swap the CPU from 2 cores to 4 cores.

I bought a tested Intel Mobile Core 2 Extreme QX9300 (SLB5J for Socket P) with 4x 2.53 GHz for less than €100 and just installed it.

According to the information sheet from Intel:

The Core 2 Duo P8700 with the red (pink) socket P has a TDP value of 25W, a VID voltage range of 1.00V - 1.25V and a TJUNCTION up to 105°C.

The Core 2 Extreme QX9300 for the red (pink) socket P has a TDP value of 45W, a VID voltage range of 1,050V-1,175V and a TJUNCTION up to 100°C.

The laptop stays at a black screen with the QX9300.  The fan spins and everything is assembled correctly.  When I cross-check with the P8700, the screen appears immediately and I also get into the bios.

BIOS is currently available on the German homepage Version 203 from 12/02/2009 (10/16/2009).

Help recover a Lenovo Yoga 370

Hello, i have a Lenovo Yoga 370 LA-E291P rev 1a with a locked bios, i mistakenly and stupidly flashed a wrong bin file to it and now is completely dead no fan no light, i am wondering if flashing a wrong bin file into bios chip will fry the motherboard or it just fried the chip. if anyone knows or had similiar issues please share the info , thanks in advance
