Alienware Aurora R1 mobo bricked ?

Hello,

Hope I am posting in the correct section, I don't speak perfect English so I don't understand everything.

I did some research and I can't find a solution to my problem, but I arrived on this forum where I thought that maybe we could help me.

I have a problem with an Alienware Aurora ALX (R1) PC, I wanted to update the BIOS and there was a power failure... Now the computer starts up but no longer displays anything. It beeps when I remove the RAM or when I plug in a USB drive. But these are the only signs of life that I can get.
I tried to create a key with Crisis BIOS recovery but I cannot extract .rom file from .bin file found in .exe. And since I do not understand everything I am afraid of going about it badly.

Is it possible to do something or the motherboard is bricked in your opinion?

Thank you in advance.

ASRock X79 Extreme4-M and 1650 v2

Hello! I'm new to this forum. I actually have an Asrock X79 extreme4-m MoBo, and i bought a 1650 v2 cpu because is one of the best cpu for gaming (i come from a 2680).

I thought the cpu was supported from the motherboard but the cpu actually won't boot up. I tried with UBU to update the microcode but nothing, then i tried manually with mmtool to swap the microcode from the x79 extreme4 (not M).
Is really weird that this cpu won't work with my motherboard. All asrock motherboards supports v2 cpus, the xtreme3, the xtreme6 and the regular atx extreme4.
Can someone help me if could be a way to make this cpu work with my pc? I would be grateful. In the asrock site my motherboard supports 1650 (C1) and 1650 (C2) and i thought were the v1 and v2 versions, but i was really wrong.
I hope someone can help me, thank you very much!

Hello.

- Motherboard manufacturer and Model: Lenovo ThinkPad T14 AMD Gen1 (20UD-0008US)
- BIOS revision: R1BET61W (1.30)
- BIOS type: UEFI
- Bios download link: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/r1buj61w.exe
- USB ID of supported card (Fibocom L850-GL): VID 1519 (Not sure of the PID as I never had the officially supported card.)
- I read the RSA signed risks, am aware, and accept them.
- Results19: https://www.sendspace.com/file/14q0tj

Also, I'm quite technical but new to Lenovo (imagine how annoyed I was to discover that these have whitelists!) so don't mind learning how to do this or at least adding USB\VIDs to the whitelist myself. The tool reference posts I can find here and at other forums are over 10 years old so I'm not sure if they even apply to modern UEFI systems.

[Request] Supermicro X9SRA Unlock (TDP/Multiplier)

Hello everyone!  I currently run a Xeon E5-1680v2 on a Supermicro X9SRA motherboard.  I've done some rudimentary BIOS mods to add some necessary features (NVMe support and expose multiplier settings).  Although the mods did technically allow me to overclock (I can max all cores at 3.7GHz instead of 3.4), attempting to go beyond 3.7 seems to have no effect.  I believe this is due to the CPU running up against the TDP limit set by the motherboard (115W), as using XTU I can get single cores to clock higher.  What do you guys think can be realistically achieved?  The highest rated CPU that this motherboard can support has a TDP of 150W, so clearly there is more headroom available... If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it a lot!  Just by unlocking the TDP 4.1GHz should be achievable, and if increasing the voltage was also possible then probably much higher clocks could be achieved.  Thanks in advance!

I have attached a stock version of the BIOS here.

Hello, I have an HP Zbook 15 G6 laptop, whose BIOS got updated and since then the processor can not be undervolted, not the fans can be controlled by 3rd party app like

NoteBook FanControl. I cannot downgrade it back, because it does not allow past a certain version.

I have dumped the full BIOS (2 of them) from the motherboard using a chip reader. Can anyone help me edit it, so the undervolting feature can be reenabled? Thank you!

Help with Acer E5-521 (Z5WAE LA-B232P)

Hey guys,
I come here to ask for your precious help.
I have an Acer E5-521 22P notebook (Z5WAE LA-232P motherboard).
He was stopped for 2 years, but now my wife needed him and I went to call, but when calling, I accessed everything, but there was no image on the LCD or on the external monitor. Through some forums I saw that they advised to update the bios.
So far so good, I took apart the PC and with the CH341A programmer I was able to read the BIOS and write a new one (I got the files from this post: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=71724)
However I noticed that there are 2 files, the BIOS and the EC.
After programming the BIOS, the notebook now only connects via the battery, but it still does not display an image (fan connection), in other words, the charger does not work.
Was it because I didn't program the EC? What chip are you going to have that file on?

I thank you in advance for any help that can be given. I send the backup of the bios.

Compliments,

Bricked Lenovo L390 Yoga after BIOS update

$

Hello everyone!
I'm struggeling with a Lenovo Thinkpad L390 Yoga (type 20NT) for many ours now an still making no progress. After a BIOS update over the official Windows-exe from the Lenovo-support website the Thinkpad does not boot anymore. The screen stays completly black, and after 30s or so after turning it on, there comes a loud beeping-melody.
It turns out, I can decode the melody with a Lenovo-Smartphone App, and it contains a error-code. The code is: 0285 and it means "TCG-compliant functionality-related error (might be the TPM initialization failure)"
First I tried to reset the BIOS by removing the internal battery and the cmon battery from the motherboard, error appears unchanged. So, I think the BIOS flash really went wrong.
Than I found this nice forum and tried the steps described in BIOS Recovery. So I tried the things with FN+B, FN+R, WIN+B and WIN+R, but I'm note sure if I have to Phoenix or the Insyde Recovery. In both ways it is described that I have to rename my bios file before I copy it to my usb stick. Unluckely, I didn't find the filename for my Model. Also, I'm not sure, if I really have the right bios file for my board.
I downloaded the exe from the lenovo website. After running it, I selected I want to extract the files only. In the extracted folder, there are many files now, but only a few interesting:
BootX64.efi (1514kb) in the root directory of the folder
$0ar1000.fl1 (38002kb) in the subfolder R10ET48P
$0ar1000.fl1 (38002kb) in the subfolder R10ET48W
I only tried to recover the BIOS with the last two files, but I've read that the file size must be a multiple of 1024kb, so I'm unsure if this are the right files.
What did I do wrong? Is there a chance to recover the BIOS with the FN+R (or the other combinations), or do I have to buy SPI PGM+ Clip tools (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575)
Thanks in advance!

[Request] ASUS B85M-E BIOS MOD Disable USB Over Current Protection

Hello, I wanted to request your help. I have an ASUS B85M-E Rev 1.02 board that throws me the error "USB Device Over Current Status Detected" "System will shut down after 15 seconds"

I know it is a USB related problem but I went through and checked them and there is no problem. I said I am going to flash BIOS to test, and indeed the problem disappeared in the first reboot, all USB worked without problem, nothing bad happened.

When I turned off the PC and turned it on again, the problem reappeared, I could not solve it, I DUMPed the BIOS again, and made a comparison, it had changed with respect to what I had written a moment ago.

I attach the two BIOSes, both the original before the first boot one that worked for me, and what is generated after the first boot and that gives the problem again.

I think this problem could happen if the "USB Device Over Current" is disabled, I wanted to know if the BIOS could be modified to disable that module, and not check the USB consumption so that this alert does not appear, or what is it what changes in the BIOS so that in the first boot it allows it, and not in the second attempt.
