[REQUEST] Asrock ZH77 Pro3 Bios unlock

$

Hello

I just got an Asrock ZH77 Pro3 motherboard and paired it up with an i7 2600.
The ZH77 Pro3 is basically a H77 board with overclocking capabilities. I can adjust the multi or voltage for example.

Is it possible to unlock BLCK settings or "per core" CPU Ratio on this board?
I think that the bios is quite restricted in terms of overclocking. Maybe it's possible to push my cpu to 4Ghz with that mobo, but i have to be able to up the BLCK for that. Would be great if anybody could get this to work.

Thanks in advance,
Philipp

You can get the bios here: https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/ZH77%20Pro3/#BIOS

Acer Predator G9-973 BIOS Recovery - How To

$

Hello Everyone,
I feel the need to make a resource available to everyone that has ended up in the situation I was in,which was having bios issues with the Acer Predator G9-973 laptop.
First I want say that this laptop uses the Winbond Q25128FV chip and also will produce a rather large 16mb bios file. I ended up with a corrupt bios which wouldn't allow the laptop to boot. It would not post at all. The power button would light up solid along with the keyboard and mousepad but would power cycle every 15 seconds.
There are two methods of recovery, I'll explain my experience with both
 1. Booting from a USB bios recovery file
 2. Flashing your bios IC chip with a Programmer such as the CH341a using the CH341a program v 1.18 (HAS to be this version)

To prepare the USB flash drive you need a low volume flash drive. I chose a 2gb (It helps if it has a light so you can see the read/write)
Format this drive to a FAT FAT/32.
Now you'll need the need correct file to put onto the USB drive. You can find BIOS updates on the manufacturers website. From there download, open, and run the update exe file. This will create a temp folder /users/youraccount/appdata/temp/ The folder it will be in will have numbers and letter, 7.skd92. ect. Inside this folder will be one or two .bin files depending on the version of bios update. These bin files will be what you will use to recover. Drop the contents of this folder into your flash drive and modify the .bin files to a .fd file extension. (IF you want you know exactly what file your computer will look for and have a copy of your bios on hand, you can search the .bin file with a program such as UEFITool. Load the .bin, search for a unicode ".bin or .rom". Find the file, Export it then open with notepad and look for the .bin file it will specify. This will take you the exact name and file extension that the bios will look for to recover. Once the files are on the flash drive, insert the drive with the power off. Hold function button and esc button, power on and you will begin the restore.

This USB method didn't work for me as I believe my bios was too corrupted to even making it to loading anything from the USB.
For this method we will modify a stock bios update to a flashable .bin file. As mentioned above, use the website to download the bios update, run exe, find the .bin in the temp folder and then copy that off to a place you can access it (remember, once you close the bios updater program it will delete the files and folder.) Now with the stock bios update .bin file, one might think you could just flash this back onto the Winbond. Wrong. Unfortunately, this update .bin has all kinds of extras inside increases the file size too much to write to the chip. Here is where a program called InsydeImageExtractor comes into play. Find a copy of this program and extract it to the area where you're update .bin is located. Open Command Prompt in windows and use extractor.exe <name of file to copy> <name of new file>. This will now result in a .bin file without all the extra update stuff, reducing the size of the .bin file and allowing you to flash this back onto your chip. Once I had flashed the chip the laptop booted right up to windows login without a hitch.
It's unfortunate that the manufacturer makes it this hard to recover from problems like this.

I really hope this tutorial helps someone in need as I searched the internet for many hours to put the puzzle together.

Never give up!

Acer Aspire 5745PG BIOS Downgrade -> No display, can't get crisis mode to work

I tried to downgrade my old Acer Aspire 5745PG BIOS from v1.19 to v1.11 because that is the last version that allows you to enable the discrete GPU only, since the intel GPU does not appear to have drivers that work with later versions of Windows 10.

I downloaded the correct BIOS, and it seems to have flashed fine from Windows, but since then the display has not turned on.

It looks like Windows is still booting, since I still see hard drive activity and it responds to the power button gracefully. I just can't get any display output (I also tried plugging in an HDMI monitor but that doesn't do anything either).

So I thought I could use the BIOS recovery to flash back to v1.19 since a functioning display without drivers is better than no display at all.

I downloaded Phoenix tool 2.50 and loaded up the v1.19 BIOS, and it says recovery filenames are "ZR7X64.f?". I assumed this meant I could just name the file ZR7X64.fd (the original filename is ZR7x64EC.fd), stick it on a flash drive and it would flash itself, but I can't get this to work. It starts in recovery mode (i.e. the power light flashes as expected), then a few seconds later the fan goes on full blast. Nothing else after that. I left it for about 10 minutes with no change. Restarting the laptop after this seems to have made no changes, and I think Windows is still booting up.

Do I need anything else to be present on the flash drive in order for this to work? Would me using a USB3 drive on a USB2 port have anything to do with it? (I don't have any other flash drives laying around).

.bin   c14d.Bin (Size: 8 MB / Downloads: 0)

Hi!

Can someone please help me to unlock all hidden menus of an RCA C14D Rev2 (AMI Aptio) laptop. I'd speccially like to have the Chipset menu enabled, with the iGPU and Memory speed/timings settings, but if you can unlock every menu, it would be better.

I've tried to unlock them myself with AMIBCP v5.01, changing te entries from "default" to "USER", but had no luck (The laptop won't display any image).

This is the BIOS Dump. I've done it with CH341A EEPROM Programmer.

Hope u guys can help me.
Thanks in advance

I've been attempting to flash to an older bios on my laptop in order to unlock the overclock features.

Service tag is 3939RC2 -
I7-6700HQ
GTX1070 gpu
Chipset  - Skylake -H Rev. 7
Southbridge  - IDA150 Rev. 31
Bios is 1.9.0

I've seen factory overclocked versions of this same laptop with bios options.  Anytime I try to overwrite the bios it tells me it's write protected.  I've tried the PRR tool, I used a dos bootable usb with the files for memory control.  Nothing I do seems to work.  AWCC only has options for adjusting the power plan.   Any help would be great.
