Can anyone tell me the correct DPTF BIOS Settings - Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (20266)

I'm running a Yoga 2 Pro (model 20266) and after a recent bios mod to remove the hardware white list, I did a clean reinstall of Windows 10 only to find that my fans no longer spin. I noticed in EFI that everything was disabled under the DPTF settings, including Fan 1 and Fan 2. Can anyone tell me what the settings should be so I can get the cooling to work again?

lenovo yoga 3 pro 1370 - no whitelist

Hello,
I'm really new here,
I was given a lenovo yoga 3 pro 1370, and I learned that for some time now, laptops have whitelist.
If I well understood, and I saw a video on youtube, it could be possible de remove this limitations.
I've a tool called Backup_tools19n, and a video explaining a little bit how to make a copy of the bios.
Is it possible that someone, please, remove all those limitations for wifi, ssd if it applies, and other I may not suspect?
I'm more than 50, and you would laugh at me, since I'm currently using my dell inspiron 6400 of 2007 era.
What I know is that I HATE all these limitations etc...
Please, would you kindly help me and guide me?
Thank you,
muzungu.

Hello everyone,

is there a possibility to modify bios to support the 16 GB Ram stick? See below for more information.
---

PC: ASUS UX501 JW

Goal:
Upgrade ram from 16 GB to 24 GB by replacing the 8GB RAM stick with Crucial CT204864BF160B 16GB.

Required ram: DDR3(L) 1600Mhz

Current : Upgrade effect / Problem :
  • Bios recognizes 24 GB RAM just displays the total amount Smile
  • RAM available on Linux (Ubuntu 19.04) and Windows 10 is 8 GB Huh
  • CPU-Z Displays 16 GB total memory (as before upgrading) Undecided
  • CPU-Z Displays 16 GB Ram stick on slot 3 (previously 8 GB Ram on slot 1

[Request] EVGA SR-2 Memory Bug

Hello,
i got an EVGA-SR2 board and there is a bug with memory detection when doing overclocking.
Would be nice if someone take a look on that.

WORKS | Doesn't WORK

3x4GB left, 6x4GB right, = 36GB
3x8GB left, 3x8GB right, = 48GB
6x8GB left,                        = 48GB (Boot Loop)
6x8GB left, 6x8GB right, = 96GB (Boot Loop)

...but filling all banks without overclocking works.
So without overclocking it reads 96GB ram and i can boot windows.

Looking to increase VRAM Dell Inspiron 5575

Hi everyone,

Looking to increase the amount of dedicated video memory on my Dell Inspiron 5575 laptop. It has a Ryzen 5 2500u APU which is great, but is currently locked to 256mb video memory which makes even light gaming impossible. I currently have 16gb of memory (DDR4 2400 CL14) installed on my notebook so i'm not lacking in that department. I would like to increase it to either 1gb or 2gb if possible. My friends Asus notebook which has a similar APU (3500u) has 2gb and it seems to work much better when it comes to gaming.

I've attempted to troubleshoot this issue with dell and was told to basically go away because they have no incentive change these settings.

I've been attempting to change the values with both H20EZE and HxD hex editor but have pretty much run up against a wall.

Bios dump is the most current 1.3.3 on the dell website and the Insyde ver is 5.3

If anyone could help point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.

Toughbook CF-D1 Customer BIOS Update

I still have a problem. I have a CF-D1KW200MZ with Bios V2.50L11 M10. Now I have the version BIOS_D1_V250L14.exe here.
https://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/do...score=0.17759083211422&sri=14646542&trn_org=2
When starting it brings with the following error message.
„This Model is Not supported“

The problem is that the seller has kept secret that it is a custom bios. Panasonic doesn't want to help. Is there a way to unpack the BIOS_D1_V250L14.exe and get the actual biosfile. It just seems to be the exe himself who queries the bios at the beginning. The M10 is probably the identifier for the custom bios. Alternatively, one could perhaps overwrite the identifier in the bios so that the exe thinks it is a board without custom bios. I'm not sure where the exe is asking. The bios is an aptio. I hope you have an idea for me how I can get there.

What can you do if your Bios chip seems to be write protected using CH341a

Well I'm now 0 for 2 after years of flashing everything without problems.

This time it is an AOpen DEX4501 (Core 2 Duo, conventional AMI bios). I had it set up with a temporary power supply, and right after the bios was erased (flashing from DOS) the power cut out.

So it appears I have an erased bios--at least when I read it with the CH341a tool. However, it can't identify the actual bios chip, and gives a Code 25 "Write timed out" if you try to program it. (Tried the various versions up to 1.34, which did the least since it can't ID the chip, you can't go any farther.

I tried using the ASProgrammer and again--can't ID chip, but can read and confirm that it is erased (blank check), but when I try to program it just sits, and when I finally cancel I get the message "Possible Protection is enabled".

So deets:

Chip is Winbond 25x16AV -- data sheet is online, and does seem to suggest that there is some write protection, but again, I am out of my depth. (It does show as a chip choice in the ASProgrammer)

Any experts who can help me out?

Acer BIOS MOD G-Sync Request

$

Hello Everyone!
I'm new here to the forums! I currently have an Acer Predator G9-793-71TW 17” which was equipped with a (LG - LP173WF4-SPF2) display and working G-SYNC. I have recently upgraded the display to the (AUO - B173HAN03.1) which works great but lost the ability to use G-SYNC. From all the research I’ve done I’m wondering if the new panel isn’t whitelisted to the BIOS. Could this be possible? And could a BIOS mod be created to accept the new panel and enable G-SYNC?
I’m aware that I would need to use the SPI-programmer and SOIC8 and would be fully willing to go that route if such BIOS changes were possible. I would also be more than happy to donate to the cause!
 Any feedback is always welcome.
Thank You

Only 2 cores on X3470+H55 Chipset

Hello guys! My case seems to be "simple".

I have a Kazuk (Brazillian brand) LGA1156 with H55 Express chipset mobo. When upgraded my CPU to X3470, only 2 cores are detected by the BIOS. This mobo have an AMI BIOS, and I've added some microcodes from others manufacturers (06E5) and flash, but without success.

OBS: The system boots normally with 2 cores, but when set to "ALL", windows/ubuntu crashes at boot screen.

Someone can explain how to unlock 4 cores on that BIOS?

Image from BIOS is attached.

All help is greatly appreciated Big Grin
