Years ago I played with a lot of BIOS and EEPROM related editing, but I've grown rusty. I've spent 30+ hours over the last few weeks, and while I have managed to sort out some of that I'd like to do, I wasn't able to sort out everything. So, I'll happily send a few bucks to whomever can lend a hand. 

I have already dumped the 25q128fwsg via a SOIC8, that is in the link below. I need to gain access to the AMD PBS and CBS menus in the InsydeH2O bios so that I can change DRAM clocks, timing, etc and also do some under volt modifications on the CPU since the cooling solution on these is trash. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I should note, I have been able to get h2ouve to at least show that I can change most of these things, but the defaults are blank everywhere and I am unsure how this would effect things.

Unlocking/enabling Wifi Giada F200

Hi all!

I get a Giada F200, nice and little, and tried to install an own Wificontroller.
There was no error message or any other from BIOS nor in W7 device manager.
Something like white listing in BIOS?

What is the best way to dump BIOS so anybody can look after this and other hided options please?

I get a Giada F200, nice and little, and tried to install an own Wificontroller.

These boards are available used for a very good price.  They have 7 PCIe slots which can handle Gen2 and Gen1 with about 31 lanes (atomics) available to the CPU.  Ubuntu 18.04.4 runs fine but I was unable to use my S9x00 AMD co-processors.  Not sure what the problem was as the driver had the GPUs listed as working and was released just a month ago but for 18.04.2

Currently I have win7x64 working fine with this board and with several S9050 co-oprocessors as part of a BOINC farm.  There is no SLIC and I never found the bios listed anywhere for download.  This board and other similar ones are sold as an HS-1235T server.

Using AFUD4252 I extracted the bios and used AMD tool 1.63 to add an SLIC.  The SSV3 method failed but the SSV2 method worked.  I have not tested the bios and may not unless I hear some good advice from this forum.  There are no socketed chips (rom bios) and even though the board was cheap ($29 USD) I do not want to brick it.

Anyone had able to get this board's bios modded and working?

What is the likelihood of recovering if the bios mod is not workable?

Is there a way to flash the bios and not overwrite the boot so as to allow a re-flash?

I have an unused copy of win7x64 home left over from an old "family 3-pack".  However, home works only with one socket, not two.  I have a pair of xeons on this motherboard.  I can put in 7 and upgrade to 10 but I think I am stuck with "home" and cannot use the 2nd cpu unless there is a workaround to fix "home" to handle a pair of cpus.  Is this possible?

I also see that win10x64 is available for $55 USD from PCdestinations which I may get instead of trying the mod.

HI there, don't know even if this is possible, but in OC TUNER panel for this particular mobo, when MANUAL overclock is set, the PCIE frequency becomes grey and I'd need to set it higher (long story for low multiplier cpu overclock).

Is it possible?

Lenovo T460 - I need a repair of the BIOS file

Hello,

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T460 with a "broken" BIOS file.

During a BIOS update something has gone wrong.
Now it is not possible to install a BIOS update.
After installing the T460 has to restart to finish the update, but it doesn't restart, no matter how long i wait.
I can plug off an on the electricity and the T460 will boot, but will not finish the update.
Only the old BIOS starts.

Now the T460 needs about 45 seconds to start booting. After booting everything works fine.

I bought a SPI flasher and made a dump of the BIOS file. 
I tried to flash a donor BIOS file form another T460, but it didn't work, the T460 did not boot or start with the donor
BIOS.


I flashed back the original BIOS file and it works with the known failure, it needs 45 seconds to start booting.


I think the original BIOS file is defective, or some parts of it, because a BIOS update has gone wrong.
A donor BIOS file does not work, I think because of some individual Keys or the TMP chip - I dont'know.

Is it possible to repair the defective BIOS file?
I can send you the original dump of the defective BIOS file and a dump of another T460 that works fine.

Of course i will return the favour if anybody can help.

The bios has nearly zero features....cant change clock speeds of anything and the PC is seriously under clocked to begin with.  Really want to change VRAM settings...   I have no idea where to find an unlocked bios.   Any help would be appreciated.   TIA!

Hi ! 

I would like to know if any of you know how to edit an Insyde BIOS file and create an "official" signature please.

I've uncompiled the .exe proposed by the HP website, and I managed to get the .bin file named "0835DF19.bin". Is this correct? But I don't have the skills to edit the BIOS file.

Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p Tiny Desktop‎ without 1802 error

I bought a number of Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p Tiny for a WiFi project.

I noticed out of the 20 machines one will accept any WiFi card.

I upgraded the bios and controller firmware, and it's still booting up without the 1802 Unauthorized network card error.

Compared the SMBIOS between the different systems and they seem very similar.

Even the MAC address is in the same range.

Why is one machine allowing me to insert any card without error?
