Hi, I'm new to this bios stuff. I would like to have access to most of my bios settings. I have a dell inspiron 3420. Running windows 10, I have the latest bios version. I tried to overclock the HD 4000 using intel extreme tuning utility, but it doesn't show any option to overclock my gpu as it must be locked by the manufacturer. Please help me
Hello, i have XMG PRO 15 (same as Clevo PB50RF/Hasee Z9CT7PK/many many others) with Insydeh20 bios/uefi. Its possible to unlock all hidden features? Link to download on manufacturer site: https://download.schenker-tech.de/packag...5974422983
I wondered if it would be possible to change the color of the bios screens, change the color of the white text on the other say yellow. Where in the bios is stored that value, in order to be able to change code?
Please help I have an HP Compaq presario that I want to replace its Atheros wireless card, with Intel Dual band 7260HMW which works fine if I hot swapped with the old Atheros card
I own a HP Vectra 500 series Model 562 (D3742A) PC till 1995
It has a HP motherboard with Intel Triton 430FX Chipset.
The BIOS limits size of HDD with the embedded intel 82371FB (PIIX) controller.
I want to add a PCI IDE card or a PCI SATA Card.
First, I tried to install the PCI to SATA card (Ali M5283 chip). But I got a ressource conflict in BIOS even with all other PCI Cards (USB, Matrox Graphics) removed and integrated IDE controller disabled.

Next, I tried an Abit Hotrod 100, I bought last Friday. Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view.
With the Hotrod 100 card, the PC beeps on boot with no message. BIOS beep codes
I can't see any message from the card's BIOS.
Win98SE detects the card and I've installed the driver. I can use a formatted CF Card on IDE adapter on the IDE port of the Hotrod 100 only with Win98SE.
With DOS, the card is not detected.
I also try to use card with motherboard's IDE controller disabled and the Hotrod does not seems to work.
I think it's BIOS issue but I can't figure what it is. This Phoenix BIOS does not offer a lot of settings to play with.
I suppose the BIOS don't launch Option ROM.
I don't have any setting about option ROM or PCI Optional ROM scan
I don't have a boot menu like this :
I think the Bootable Add-in card in the missing option.

This is a very basic question but I'm new to hex editing. I have a phoenix ROM file that I'm loading up in the Phoenix rom editor and it shows me a long list of strings of text, such as "PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility". But when I load the same ROM file into a simple hex editor such as HxD, or even a fancy dissassembler such as IDA, I see no such string plainly visible (actually, I don't see any such string at all, period). So this is probably an extremely simply question that only n00bs like me wouldn't already know the answer to, but how is the Phoenix Editor getting so many text strings, and these other programs don't?
Reason I ask is because I also have a VGA.ROM file to go along with my bios rom. And I can edit the bios rom in the phoenix rom editor, but the VGA.ROM that I have obviously doesn't load into that editor. So I'm trying to find strings in the VGA.ROM file, such as the name or hardware id or manufacturer name or basically any string at all. I feel like, if I could understand how phoenix editor is finding all those strings in the bios file, then maybe I could better understand how I could do the same thing to find strings in the VGA.ROM file, if that makes sense. Hopefully the method for finding strings would be the same for both files. That's how my n00b brain thinks anyway.
