Medion Akoya E1228 AHCI request

Medion Akoya E1228 (MD 98720)
Chipset: Intel NM10/ICH7
Mainboard: Pegatron H90MB
BIOS: see attachment, opens in MMTOOL

BIOS is extremely dumbed down, but seems really similar to the BIOS of the Asus Eee PC 1201N. At least AHCI support would be awesome.

EDIT: forgot to mention, the installed SATA harddrive is limited to IDE mode by the BIOS.

[Bios Request] Microcode update/Asus U36S

Hello,

My Asus U36S has an i52410M with AES-NI function supported but disabled because of outdated CPU microcode in the BIOS.
I’ve attempted to update the BIOS myself following instructions found in internet, but no luck. Could someone help me?

It is my understanding that the CPU microcode is contained inside 17088572-377F-44EF-8F4E-B09FFF46A070_9.rom (I have used PhoenixTool 2.50 for disassembly), but I may be wrong. I also believe my CPUID is 0x000206a7.

Links:
BIOS:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/U36S...DAS206.zip

CPU Microcode for Intel CPUs:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_...*&lang=eng

Thanks in advance,
Regards

EDIT: I've also tried to swap microcode revision with a newer one that comes from an Asus N53SV (same CPU) using MMTool. I've extracted the microcode from the N53SV, deleted the old one in the U36S BIOS and put the N53SV's one. Is this safe to flash?

Skip CMOS Settings And Automatically use Defaults?

Long time lurker but first time poster here.

To make a long story short, i have a small, older itx board (axiomtech sbc86807 v2.0) that someone gave me. It had a few blown capacitors. After fixing the caps and booting up the unit it runs fine. Ran memtest and installed xp, ran a stress test. Everything seems to work just fine.

However, i noticed after a few boots that the unit will not save my cmos bios settings. It gives me the typical 'cmos checksum error'. I have changed the battery, saved my settings again multiple times to no avail. I physically checked around the battery and bios area for any traces or components that may physically look blown but all looks good.

The unit works good and could be used for a little project down the line so I would hate to have to trash this. I was wondering if there is any possible way i can modify the bios to skip searching for the saved cmos settings and use the default settings automatically.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

a55m-p33 Bios

Hey guys, got a kinda wierd question/request. I have been doing tons of research, and trial/errors on my MSI a55m-p33 mobo since it bricked during a flash of modded bios i got from here. I can RMA the mobo but it will cost me just as much as a new one since im positive MSI will void my warranty and charge for shipping back/parts/labor.

My question is, with Mflash utility we can make a copy of the bios that is bootable from usb stick skipping the failed flash and allowing me to re-install the backup. My problem is that i avoided Mflash and never made a backup of my bios, so i am in need of one. If anyone has backed up thier A55m-p33 bios to usb i would love a copy sent to me so i can use it, or can i even use it?

Next question would be about the UEFI bios, i understand that it is separate of the actual "bios", am i correct? If so is there a way that i can force it to boot over the bios and possibly reflash that way.

If none of these options are available does anyone know where the actual bios chip is located so that i may purchase another if need be. I have extensive hardware knowledge of PC's and have a soldering gun so i should be ok.

Basically i have tried all of the options available to the home user, the ctrl-home attempt to reflash and even bought a ps2 keyboard just to try it. Problem is, once the mobo starts nothing works. The procy still gets hot meaning it is working, but no usb, sata, or other ports are working. I have read that if i can get into the bios enough to allow network boot then i can possibly boot that way and flash it.

Pretty much i'm looking at 28$ to ship to MSI, 28$ to ship back plus whatever cost they charge for thier service/chip. Just the cost of shipping alone is more than the mobo brand new so thats not an option. Seeing as AMD is about to get rid of FM1 socket i would prefer fix this mobo, then buy a new mobo and build a pc from that, buying pieces slowly since i am a "starving artist" lol. Pretty much open to any and all options to help me unbrick this P.O.S. Which btw is my first and only MSI product i have ever had problems with.

I did flash my mobo the day the 2.0 bios came out, which was before they added the "only update if using Windows 8". When i flashed using the manufacturers bios file it updated fine but stayed at 1.17 version, and the system ran fine. A day later i flashed to the modded bios that TheWiz suggested, during the flash "i was using phone as usb drive" the pc restarted causing my phone to require me to "enable USB" and the flash failed. I have tried everything since to get the bios to post and still no luck.
