HP Microserver n36l n40l n54l AMIBCP Version

Hi,
I'd like to poke around inside the available HP Microserver BIOSes available and learn what's changed and why. I have a few different versions of AMIBCP (4.53, 4.55.0070, 5.0, 5.02.0031) and when I try to open any available .rom file they all return the same 'Could Not Open File' error. Can anyone tell me what is used to open and edit these files?

Lenovo X250 newest bios.. mod no longer possible?

Updated my X250 to latest bios: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/produ...s/ds102288

I think maybe I shouldn't have done so. Hap bit set and all region unlock went fine. But every time I try to replace or edit a module I get 5 beeps and no start.

For instance I did advanced menu.

I changed 04 32 0B 48 3C C2 E1 4A BB 16 A7 3F AD DA 47 5F to 77 8B 1D 82 6D 24 96 4E 8E 10 34 67 D5 6A B1 BA inside 32442D09-1D11-4E27-8AAB-90FE6ACB0489_SystemFormBrowserCoreDxe, replaced the body of the module in UEFI tool. Overall checksums/size did not change but have the same issue.

I tried to apply https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/commen...whitelist/ modules by themselves too and beeps + shutdown ensues.

I believe many people in that post had success with the method and I verified the address for the advanced menu inside the bios modules.

Seems like tripping security prevents the computer from posting now and the security bits are RSA signed. Thoughts?

   I really hope someone can help me out as I have been searching everywhere for an unlocked bios or even a simple upgrade with some clocking options. So far Ive only found unanswered request for this pc. Please! any help would be greatly appreciated, a link to somewhere else anything at this point. Surely theres something out there.

I bought new battery other than Lenovo company and I got an error message below and system tray battery icon show plugging,not charging.

I study 1 week all this forum and others searching solutions for this bios, i can use AMIBCP and see all settings switch from default to USER, but i can't see enable this on Bios, onlly the stock options, i need help, i need memory tab unlock for performance, i think i can enable xmp profiles an use this laptop with 16 GB RAM with 1866 memory profile, i tested and make run this method on multimple dell laptop, but now i can't in my wife laptop.

Some good member can help me unlock this Bios?

[Request] Help needed creating MSI PS42-8M unlocked bios

Hello everyone, since a day now I'm trying to create an unlocked bios of the MSI PS42-8M, a VERY similar model to the MSI PS42-8RB (the 8RB variant has a graphics card)

I've also looked through a thread of someone who seems to have achieved this on the MSI PS42-8RB: (Thread with the MSI PS42-8RB)

The steps I did so far:
- I've downloaded the latest version of the bios from the MSi website. (My computer is already on the latest BIOS)

-Using AMIBCP 5.02.0023 (compatible Aptio V) I have switched some things to be accessible by the user.

-Saved the modified BIOS image

Knowing that my computer have a "Bios Lock", I followed this guide on how to disable it (The very helpful guide)
And I guess it was succeful since on the second boot on grub the offset 0x929 the var was set to 0x0.

-Using Intel CSME System Tools v11 r27, I tried to dump the installed bios with the command "FPTW64.exe -D dump.bin".
I've ended up with this error: 

"Error 318: The host CPU does not have read access to the target flash area. To enable read access for this operation you must modify the descriptor settings to give host access to this region.
FPT Operation Failed."

Why did I try to dump the bios ? Simply because I wanted to compare the dumped version and the original version (out of curiosity and the fear to brick my device).

However this error scares me a bit. Does this mean I shouldn't try to flash the modded bios I've made ?  Huh
And if I flash my modded bios, should I rather use FPTW64 or through the bios itself ?

I have attached the original bios file, just in case someone wants it.

Any helpful answer would be greatly appreciated.

[Discussion] Dell 7020 - Sleep routing?

I am after some guidance about fixing sleep issues with Dell 7020's  when used with OSX.
The 7020 comes with Haswell CPU's and HD 4600 graphics. The machines make excellent hackintoshes as long as there is not an additional GPU when they fail to sleep properly. The standard HD 4600 GPU settings do not work and the config that does work uses settings for the HD 5200 GPU which works except for waking the machine when the BIOS setting for Enabling Legacy Option ROMS must be enabled if sleep is to work without an additional GPU, which seems strange because there are no Legacy Option ROMs. I have tried to discover what this setting does and how it effects the sleep process but I do not understand enough to be able to understand the sleep routing process. Looking at section 4.6 of the ACPI specification - https://uefi.org/sites/default/files/res...PI_6.0.pdf 
seems to show two routes to getting the machine waking from sleep - Legacy/UEFI -  and I think that OSX is somehow only waking the machine if the Legacy option is selected.

I am hoping someone can give me some general advice to help solve this issue but in particular I would like to know;
What do I need to understand or read about to understand the process?
Is there a way to get the build to use the standard 4600 config?

I hope someone could help me to update fuctionality to my MB Mod Bios.

** I don't use a Xeon CPU mine is:
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 (my Bios is modded for Xeon CPU) - is it possible to delete the Xeon microcode?
Is it possible to upgrade the version of the Intel RAID to the latest one supported by the MB?
Is it possible to update the version of the LAN?
AHCI support is on version 1.20 is it possible to upgrade to an updated latest one supported by the MB?

I know that my request is a lot of work .. Please really love my MB but need to update Smile

i have this board from a Acer Aspire T3-715 Intel b150, ITE it8732 with a i5 6400 and 16gb crucial 1200 MHz..

my ram in only running 1068mhz acccording to cpu-z and not the correct timings either.

i was wondering if anyhing on this board could be modded to customization ?

Hello!

I currently have a HP computer with a HP Leonite Motherboard, which has a Core 2 Duo e6700 processor. The most it will support on the stock BIOS. I was wondering if anyone could take the time to add in the microcode for the q6600/q6700 processor, and I think it should be easy as they are both 1066mhz just like the board supports, both 65nm like the board supports, and both lga 775, like the board supports. And the chipset supports it too. I think it's just an issue where the microcode is not in. Since I am so desperate, anyone who can successfully get the q6600/q6700 working in that motherboard, can expect a generous donation up to $20.

Thank you for reading this thread and hopefully you can give me a solution.
