Enable/Configure Bifurcation on X58

I was wondering if there was some type of feature that's 'hidden' in the BIOS for some X58 motherboards related to Bifurcation;

When looking at the datasheet for Intel's X58 chipset it references supporting bifurcation but references code, which makes it seem like this is something that I need to be able to configure in the BIOS and am unable to find any settings related to bifurcation in my P6T7 BIOS menu.

Port Bifurcation
The IOH supports port bifurcation using PEWIDTH[5:0] hardware straps. The IOH supports the following configuration modes:
• The width of all links are exactly specified by the straps
• The width of all links are programmed by the BIOS using the PCIE_PRTx_BIF_CTRL register (wait on BIOS mode)

Xeon E3 1270 V2 in a Dell Optiplex 3010

I'm in the process of building a junkyard gaming pc with cheap secondhand parts as a bit of a project. I'm basing it on an old Dell Optiplex 3010 mini tower. I bought it with an i3 3220, a 4 GB stick of ram and a 500gb hdd. I have an i5 3470 and an additional 4gb stick to put in it and I'm awaiting a gtx670, an ssd and a decent PSU to arrive.

I hadn't considered putting a Xeon in it, but I am now.

I was wondering if you could tell me if the motherboard in these would support a Xeon E3 1270 V2? If so, would standard non-ecc ram work or would I need ECC ram? Would the motherboard support ECC ram?

Samsung R428-DA03 Whitelist Removal

When replacing the Wi fi module, the laptop does not start. Black screen. Most likely there is a whitelist that blocks the new device. Help resolve the issue if bios needs to be modified.

Corrupted BIOS on Acer helios 500

Hi.

I have a Acer Predator Helios 500 (PH517-17 (i9, GTX1070 8Gb) that used to have bios v1.14, after I upgraded  windows to 1903 (i think it is), the bios was automaticly updated to V1.16 (with V1.14 my Corsair vengence 4X16GB 2666mhz runs perfect @ 2666Mhz, but with V1.16 it won´t boot with those memory modules, unless I use the original 2400Mhz modules in the first 2 slots, causing the 2 last slots to run @ 2400Mhz), i still have the V1.14 bios file, and downgraded the bios, but something went wrong... when turned on, only the keyboard lights up (FN+Esq can still put it into recovery mode, but theres no activity on any of the USB ports...) ordered a CH341a programmer, and i can read the bios without errors, can it be resqued without being sent to Acer?

Hello. I have a Sony Vaio from around 2011/2012. Would it be possible to Whitelist the mPCIe slot, or even unlock the bios entirely.
So I could use the eGPu.

Whenever I boot it up with the GPU, the screen goes Black.
I've tried it with Nando's setup 1.35 (Via Hotplugging). It detects the GPU within the Setup, but when I log into Windows and go into device manager the GPU doesnt show up (This is set up with compaction and link restraining. Works like a charm on my Dell. Sony Vaio not so much).

The only thing that happens is one of the PCI to PCI bridges Gives me a Code 12. So I'm assuming a whitelisting problem. And I've searched around too, found some pieces, but nothing relating to the specific Model No.

So I'm asking for some help here. I'm not sure what you guys would need. So I'll list some info and the Current Bios Package Installer.

Sony Phoenix bios mod

Sony VGN FE670g OS windows 7 32bit

Trying to add new life to good old laptop
Would like ACHI mod enabled and 4gb of memory as well
Tried to back up bios with phlash16 from here to submit but got an error message.
Have used phlash16 before without problems. Any help would be appreciated.

hi my dears today i have an serious problem, my computer lenovo mp58 thinkcentre has the last actualization from the lenovo we page M585cj977a but the fan of the cpu is runnig very hihg and i have another problems in windows 7, whem im flashing my computer im used the iso file from lenovo site and the flash is ok, but after of the installation my computer experymently no video whem im turn on the computer ,beeps, frezeen in windows and another problem, im very crazy now and i search in alll the internet and i cant find the original bios, if somebody can help me im infinite greatful, ty and please help me, we have nice day and im waiting for reply ty by Josh. Convert FPT dump for Hardware flasher CH341a

Hey everyone,
I have a bios dump of my laptop using Intel FPT using the command  fptw64 -d fullbios.rom

I tried it with hardware flasher but it didn't worked. The hardware flasher actually flashed the BIOS but the laptop didn't posted.

So can anyone convert the bios dump I linked in this thread to work with hardware flasher? I am using CH341a with clip.

ECS H61H-G11 BIOS ISSUE

I thought i would sign up here as all my research kept pointing here. If some advice could be thrown my way i would appreciate it. Right, got this motherboard for my cousin ECS H61H-G11 V1.0 and he bought an 17 3770S for it which wouldn't work unless i updated the BIOS. This board has an LVDS socket on it by the way. I downloaded the CPUEVO BIOS from ECS's website, was the correct version for this board (V1.0). While installing Windows 10 the screen goes blank at the end of the installation and i believe the output is going to the LVDS port. Ubuntu ran fine which is strange. Nothing wrong with his Winodws copy, tested it on another board. I found some info on this board and it seems the BIOS needs to be edited to disable the LVDS outputon a site about the G11 AIO PC where this board is being used but they used the Intel Integrator Tool Kit.

ECS told me that the board hould be fine using just the HDMI but as i described above the LVDS needs to be disabled and there is no option in the BIOS.

I tried AFUDOS mybios.rom/O and it comes back with a can't read error, i also tried to update to the very latest 2013 BIOS but it says there is a mismatch error, also tried BIOS recovery method, ran Phoenix Tool to get the name of the file and it suggested H61H-G11.CAP and .ROM.
The board boots into DOS via USB without any problems. So, how can i edit the BIOS to disable LVDS? Is the recovery method really dependant on USB type? I used a 16gb USB stick, even created a 4gb partition using DISKPART so it can be formatted FAT16. My apologies for a long firts post, any help will be appreciated.
