[REQUEST] Unlock BIOS for Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic

Hello!

   Is it possible to unlock hidden menus in the Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic BIOS (i7-9750H processor, HM370 chipset) and upgrade microcodes? I saw that a similar operation was possible for the Aero 15X laptop. I attach the last BIOS and photos of BIOS screens.

Ivy Bridge support for Lenovo Thinkcentre M71e

Hi! Long time user, first time poster here. I've got a slight problem. I've got a ThinkCentre M71e that I'm planning to upgrade to an i5 3470 but it doesn't officially support Ivy Bridge processors. It's an H61 Chipset so it should technically support Ivy Bridge processors, right?
I'm pretty good at soldering and I do have a bunch of spare parts available. I've attached both the BIOS the board is using right now as well as the BIOS of an Intel DH61WW motherboard which also uses the same chipset and looks (vaguely) similar. Latter of which *does* support Ivy Bridge processors. As of now, the board doesn't display anything on the screen and it turns on and off in regular intervals when I install the i5. Other than that it doesn't do an awful lot. No beeps either. The spec code of the i5 is SR0T8. Thanks a lot!

hi

i confirm the ability to upgrade toshiba satellite a660-17m cpu from intel core i5 450m socket G1 (TDP 35) to i7 740qm (TDP 45) without modded bios.

i'm writing this thread from it.

so i'm sure you can upgrade the cpu to i7 840qm (since it same socket and TDP).

i will upgrade it again with i7 840qm

i'm not sure if i can upgrade it ti i7 940xm since it's 55 TDP.

but according to cpu-upgrade website the chipset hm55  support cpu with TDP from 35 to 55

before upgrading :
1- be sure there is a dedicate graphic card  such as nvidia or ati or amd.
2- the ram type is either 1066 or 1333.

Mod Intel NUC whitelisting to support eGPU

I am trying to get Intel NUC NUC7i7BNH work with AMD RX570 connected through M.2 slot.
It looks like the bios has M.2 whitelisted; SSD is detected but egpu is not. 
I upgraded the bios to latest 2019 version and it did not work. Does anyone have experience with Intel Visual BIOS modding?

Hi guys, i'm new to this forum. I'm trying to install Mojave on this laptop and got kernel panic, I figured maybe some changes on BIOS would help. Hereby my request to mod the BIOS to be compatible for macOS.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 2
BIOS Surface ORI
CPU Intel i7-8650u
VGA Intel UHD 620
AUDIO Realtek ALC298
WIFI Marvell Avastar (not compatible i know, i will use wifi dongle)

I want the advanced settings to be available to set up, mainly for DVMT-prealloc BIOS setting to 128MB

How to find BIOS chip on Thinkpad S1 Yoga?

Lenovo Thinkpad S1 Yoga 20C (i5 4210U, 8GB RAM)

I would like to remove the WiFi whitelist and have almost everything. The wifi card, CH341A, SOIC8 and motherboard out. But which is the UEFI chip? I can see 2 identical ones (this thing does not have dual UEFI, right?) and a few others that fit the size of the test clip.

I can see 2 chips, one with oh32-104hip and one oh64-104hip

There is a similarly sized chip with MDS1521.

Sorry for crappy images, my Poco F1 doesn't handle zooming very well.

I Want to change Video Memory Size and also would like to have advanced options in my BIOS, someone created a whitelist mode for this bios but doesn't modded further.

Hi!
I would like to ask everyone who would be willing to help me with the BIOS modification for Asus n61jq laptop. Burned, Radeon HD 5730 (216-0772003) and as it turns out the new chips are no replacement, but there is a Radeon HD 5650 (216-0772000). The forums have a successful modified BIOS for Asus n61da. I'll attach the latest BIOS to the thread and hope one of you wants to figure it out.

Hey,


I'm desperately trying to insert the CPU-ID for my "AMD N830" in my Asus PRO63D (N60D motherboard). 
Now installed AMD Turion M500.

With N830 the problem is:
- CPU in BIOS Unknown,
- BIOS starts, there is logo, but on booting system hangs.

Сan anyone try adding it?

BIOS bood CD PE environment

Has anyone made a custom Mini PE for updating firmware? I am strictly a Linux user on my personal equipment but occasionally need Dos or Windows to update firmware. Out of all of the boot disks that I have none of them have any of the WinPhlash apps on them. In the past I have updated DigiWiz BartPE using PowerISO or other ISO mounting tools. Has anyone here done something similar with the tools hosted on this site? I did a couple of searches and have not seen any mention of it yet.

Bios time went to 40+ sec. after hardware flash

So I modified my bios with the help of a user here and it worked. Before flashing second modified bios, I did the usual nvram changes (set bios lock to disable and set Me FW image reflash to enable). This bricked the bios.

 There is no CMOS in this laptop and no jumpers etc. So I flashed a BIOS from a bios site and it worked. 

But the problem is the BIOS now takes about 30+ seconds to show up after I press the power button. The BIOS time in task manager went from 6 seconds to 42 seconds. 

I have my original BIOS dump but it didnt worked with hardware BIOS flasher so I had to download from website and it worked but with this issue.

Looking for help, thanks.

I have both Original BIOS dump of my laptop and the one im using right now downloaded from bios server site. There is no BIOS file available on laptops official site.
