BIOS virus (not the eprom burners) real?

hello and greetings to all:
A simple question has any one ever proved the actual bios binaries in a actual PC was ever virus infected by the HDD.?
proof being.
all batteries and AC power removed, HDD removed.
and fully discharged all caps and off line VRMs.

then on re-power up, no HDD, there is virus found in the EEPROM.?
endless rumors, no proof yet.

1995 to 2014 years, of EEPROM and no TPM and no UEFI yet.
just want to know this, and this forum seems like a place to start.

Hello Everyone  Angel
My english not very well. We ve got a problem. My bios was locked. I want to update my old bios. But I try to much diffirent bios.rom file i couldnt find the correct one. When i tried to install I encountered the bios error. I have i7 950 1.generation CPU and i must be  use that +4.xx ghz clock rate speed for Asus rog strx Rx 580. My bios locked. I cant have Cpu overlock page on my bios. Help me please. Need help. i am very sad and stressfull for this problem. ( My English is not very good )

how to not brick my newest toy fujitsu system

hello, i'm new here
 kind of shows right?

to the point then
while digging around my work, i found one fujitsu siemens computer that was going to the scrapyard, motherboard was toasted, all the rest of the system was ok so i bought the cheapest motherboard on local ebay that would fit those components and case. later i discovered i should have pay 3 times as much for the board revision that would support what i want to do with it, but now i am stuck. not that it isn't possible to buy the newer revision board, because they are not even that expensive, but because my pride does not alow me to just let it go.

so i was wondering how not to brick it while still having some fun moding it?

board in question is fujitsu siemens d2724-a with the latest bios updated via oficial patch from rev 02 to newest 08
board i want to make out of it is d2904-a or rather i want to put in bios from that board in my board

reason for doing it, one support c2 core stepping, the other support c3 stepping and have some more microcodes, they didn't change the board design that much, chipsets are the same, bios flash chip is the same, cpu socket is the same and so on

it describes exactly what and how to do it, only i can't seems to find the right tools for doing so
decompressing tool makes mostly empty garbage flash files, and flashrom program is somehow hard to download, i was only able to get outdated version. and with that version i am almost able to read my bios from the chip only it is totaly different inside than the one i generated from the same bios file downloaded from fujitsu, not even different revision board

i remember days when flashing bioses was easy, bios files were uncompressed, if you bricked your board you only needed similar bios chip to boot up from floppy or board you could program anything and you were set

so for starters i wold like to ask for help in understanding the procedure described in link i put above, or what i did wrong. Later i would like to ask for sources  where i can download dos version of flashbios program, preferable in current revision, because buildbot on their site seems to be down, at least for me.

ECS H61H2-M2 V1.0 BIOS troubles

So I have an ECS H61H2-M2 V1.0 and an i5-3570. I want to put the i5 in the board, but its BIOS isn't updated to support Ivy yet. I have an i3-2120 that I'm using right now to attempt to update the BIOS, but I can't get anything to work. I've tried both versions available on their site, in both Windows and FreeDOS (Using AFUWIN/AFUDOS), and I've even tried older versions and an ES version of the tool that I found on this forum. None have worked. After some googling I found a thread with this, which implies I need to update the board as kind of a bridge between BIOS versions. But when I run this program, I get the message "Fail to upgrade. Please check if ME_UNLOCK is shorted." It shows up whether ME_UNLOCK is shorted or not.

I'm lost for ideas at this point. I could just manually flash it but I'd need a tool for that and there are none sold locally so I'd need to order and wait weeks. Does anyone know what the problem here is?

Hi I want to overclock my i7 6700k to 4.3 ghz. i know this motherboard isn't capable to oc but my cpu gives good result on low voltages so i won't dig much deeper. in current bios i can't past 4.2 ghz in bios settings. Current bios 1205 here is the bios link:

Hello!

I have a big problem with my mobo..
Problem is with update bios.
I tried all the ways. Flashing from windows does not work, and does not work with DOS.
The motherboard is from Acer but produced by Pacard Bell
I tried BIOS from Acer and Pacard Bell but no result.
It is interesting that the same version of the BIOS that currently exists on the motherboard is loaded without any problem.
The problem is only with the update.
Do you have any way to solve this?
Or some unlocked BIOS after which you can update it?

I need an update to UEFI to use the new graphics card - Asus Rog Strix Rx480 O8G-Gaming.
Very sorry for my bad english..
I tried to update to P11-A1(Packard Bell) with *cap and *4M, and witch P11-A3.cap (Acer) but no result.
Only result is:
- in Windows - 3 - Error: ROM file size does not match existing BIOS size. (AMI AFU for Aptio 4)
- in DOS mode - 30 - Error: Problem with opening file.
Legacy USB support is enabled - tried witch "floppy" and "drive" setting.

Mobo specs. :

On the plate:
Acer Inc. H61H2-AD

In CPU-Z (mobo):

Manufacturer: Packard Bell
Model: imedia S2870
Chipset: Intel Sandy Bridge

Hello !

I spent some time trying to make a EGPU working with M.2 port from WLAN card but all my attenpts failed with no boot or black screen.
My research let me think there is a whitelist for this port so I kindly ask for a whitelist removal.

Checked the bios with andy tools, does not appear to be RSA signed
Didn't find the bios in the repository of available BIOSes.

Hi!

I have an Aspire 3750 with HM65 chipset, InsydeH2O BIOS, i3 2310M CPU, and I have a BIOS bricked Dell Inspiron 5520 with HM77 chipset, i7 3612QM CPU. Is it possible to get the Ivy CPU working in Acer laptop? The TDP is same, and the socket is same too.

hi im trying to read the 2 flash chips MX25L6406E and MX25L3206E using TL866II Plus with SOP8 clip. 
when using Xgpro v8.11 the mx25l3206 will only read the chip as a MX25L6406E when i try manually set the chip select to MX25L3206E I get a check ID Error!    
Is it ok to read and write this chip using the MX25L6406E settings in Xgpro v8.11 or can someone suggest a different software or different chip programmer to use

lvds on China motherboad bios

I have two china All-in-one PC with similar motherboards. however one of them have lvds setup in bios and second one - doesn't. I need to have lvds setup in order to configure PC (it some times drop from lvds to vga and it can be restored only in this menu). Can anyone unlock lvds menu?
