ASUS K50AF adding support of Athlon II P340 (Phenom)

Hi everyone,


I have ASUS K50AF that works with Athlon II P340 (S1g4) and DDR2 memory. But the processor is being detected as AMD Processor Model Unknown.
If it's possible I want to get it to be detected correctly. I also want to add support of Phenom II P960 but when I install this processor, my laptop is able to get into BIOS but is unable to boot the OS.

I attached my BIOS image and CPU-Z report and registry screenshot.

CPU multiplier stuck at 6,even when cpu is under load

I have a Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L motherboard with the latest F10a bios installed,but my Core 2 Quad Q9400 cpu is running at 2ghz,even when under load.I tried disabling Intel EIST (Speedstep) and C1E (cpu enhanced halt) and i also tried to manually set the multiplier to 8 in bios,but after i save,it just returns back to 6.Is this a bios glitch or no? I tried to underclock the CPU and it works,but it won't go past 2ghz.The ram is overclocked to 800mhz,but i can't overclock the cpu or change it's multiplier
Can somebody help me?

Well, I've got another request for you gunslingers over here at bios-mods
To Whom it May Concern,
I have a Biostar A880GZ mainboard running an AMD Phenom II 960T. This is a great chip and while the motherboard does have some overclocking options, it's missing the most important setting: base clock is missing completely. I'm pretty sure Biostar did this to create a market niche for their T-Series line and I am hoping that we can restore this feature so that I can further overclock using the base clock. So I've attached a picture with the motherboard / bios information. Please let me know if you need additional information to proceed.

Please Help Bricked Yoga 3 14 after BIOS update

I have got notification from Lenovo about recommended BIOS update for my working YOGA 3 14 80JH. The update get stuck on some point and I had to restart the laptop. After restart the screen remains black only keyboard switches on and off and fan comes on. 

I have tried to use the *CRISIS tools via usb, nothing had helped - laptop never enters the bios recovery mode.

I have bough the CH341A programmer, disassembled the laptop and made a backup of the SOIC8 Winbond 25Q64FVSIG 1453.
I have flashed a few BIOSes from internet but the laptop remains dead.

Now, I completely stuck. Does anybody have an experience to re-flash the BIOS?
Can anybody please provide me with a working bios?

[REQUEST]Dell optiplex 3020 BIOS need to add SLIC2.1

Hi~

I recently got a dell PC optiplex 3020, I have found its bios is very strange, because I can not use the asset.exe(v2.09) to switch the slic2.1 by the command asset PASS:12/31 etc. And I download the new bios file from dell.com and this exe file can not use the  "-writeromfile" in CLI too. I tryed to decompress the BIOS exe file, but I failed. So I have nothing to do with this bios. Confused 

So，I beg the experts in this forum to do me a favor. Please add the dell's slic2.1 in the bios rom.

Tyan K8W S2885 unlock + conversion of Fujitsu board.

Hi,

New to this thread and decided to join after much research on my niche project. So not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I have some Fujitsu D1692 work station boards which are a re-badge of the Tyan K8W S2885.   The Fujitsu boards run a Phoenix bios with little (less) options than the AMI bios the Tyan variant runs.


The main thing is the AMI BIOS has dual core support where the Phoenix only single.  

It is possible to install the AMI BIOS in place and gain the dual core support but the enable line I believe for the NIC coming from the windbond IO is inverse between the 2 BIOS makes and also physically differ on the boards to mirror that.  So the NIC stops working according to this post I found.

I also purchased 2 Opteron 290 CPUs to play with and would like to request FSB unlocking, voltage. memory tweaking and what not so I can alter power/clock up/down depending on the limits of the board and VRMs

Also to look into the supposed NIC enable line flipping.


The Opteron 290's are not officially supported either but should work, but be nice to have the supported added.


I have basically 0 experience with BIOS modding but had a offer from a guy but had gone quiet. I am quite good with programing PROMS and flash so ideally something I can flash on my programmer, I have a spare 512KB flash on hand.

I have both Phoenix and the AMI bios attached.


Let me know if it can be done. Main one is the NIC issue but the other unlocking features are most welcome.

Phoenix BIOS Issue

I have Lenovo Think Pad T430i. It boots smoothly and works smoothly. But whenever I try to go into BIOS setup utility screen become blank and nothing shows up, I have to power off and start again.  I can change sequence of boot, I can test my hardware from from BIOS utility. Never went into the BIOS utility to see the options.

I tried with F1 and F12 Key but not success. Kindly somebody help me. I need to enable virtualization from the BIOS.

MS-16GB Shutdown issue.

Hi to all. I'm Jonathan Correa Paiva from Uruguay, and i Work repairing notebook and desktops.
Here in Uruguay there is a company called CarlosGutierrez and they sell a brand of laptops "Panavox", there is a model that it has the motherboard of the MSI CX61 (MS-16GB).

This model whe you try to shutdown, it shutdown but the power led is still on. The hard drive is off and all the others leds are off, and you cannot power on until you hold the power button to cut the enegy off.
This problem is not related to drivers, I Have traid With Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, with the Inte ME drivers from 8 to 11, In UEFI and LEGACY, And all kind of configurations in the BIOS and the system.
In this vios the version of intel ME firmware is 8.1.0.1248.

I want to solve this problems because in this week I repaired 3 laptop of this model (From other problems) but I cant solve this problem.
The problem is that the company dont have a support page where I can download the bios or the drivers.

How can I backup the BIOS without open the laptop and "hardread" the CMOS? And i can upgrade the Intel Me firmware.

PD: Sorry for my english, I still learning.

Apollo Lake Aptio unlock request

Cheers folks! I'm a newbie to this forum and Bios modding, so please go easy on me  Angel


Some time ago got myself a yoga ultrabook straight from china called Voyo Vbook 3 Pro. Not the most famous brand, lol. But it has locked Bios based on AMI Aptio (V supposedly)

What it showing at this point is boot config and system info, that's pretty much it...

I also purchased 8Gb kit of DDR3 1866 ram from Crucial and therefore would like it to work at the noted frequency. Cuz now it's only running at 1600mhz with only 1 stick from that kit (putting second one in results some weird visual glitches on the screen)

The chipset definitely DOES support DDR3 1866mhz memory, according to Intel specsheet: so it's nothing but the motherboard artificially limiting those speeds


Kindly asking you gurus of the site to help me do this  Blush

P.s. tried to attach the rom file of the bios saved via Aptio V afu, but its weight 8megs instead of 2 allowed?

Asus WS C621E Xeon Platinum Engineering Sample Support

I currently own a couple of intel xeon platinum engineering samples (the label on them is QL1K). Because of this, they won't boot up on the Asus WS C621E Sage but they will boot on some other motherboards such as the Supermicro X11DPH-T (I own both but would like the C621E to work since it has some extra features). Is it possible to mod the bios on an Asus WS C621E to allow these chips to boot?
Currently on initial boot it gets stuck at post code 04 which is PCH initialization according to Asus' documentation.
Now if I hit the reset button at that point it'll cycle through some codes and end with 66 and one long beep followed by two short beeps which indicates a memory error (tried memory in all slots and the memory does work on the supermicro board).

Any help or guidance is appreciated.
