Ciao ragazzi, sono nuovo nel forum.
Ho 2 pezzi assemblati hp.

I want to use Core 2 Quad Q9100 (Core 2 Extreme QX 9300)

It is written here
https://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph...0&start=30

""Some of the pins with these signals on a quad are connected to VCC or VSS on dual cores, so we have to insulate them on our quad core inserting it in a mainboard made only for dual cores.
These are D8, AA7, AA8, AC8 and AE8.""

As a result of trying bios started to be activated but only 2 cores are enabled Angel

And then I tried a custom ACPI table but Core # 0, # 1 boot normally, but when trying to load # 2, # 3 it powers down and restarts

So I think I have to supply power to the D22 pin But I do not know where to supply power  Huh
From where do you need to supply power to the D22 pin
please tell me

I send my motherboard images, pin layout images, cpu - z images

thankyou

Hi there,

Can't seem to find any unlocked version of my bios (Alienware 17 R2) ; hence i was wondering if i'd be able to get one requested here.

It has the 4710hq processor but most of the tweaks are limited in the Bios. Would like to change the power throttling limit and possibly unlike higher Oc levels. Currently im only able to set it at oc level 1 ..

Thanks all,

Jay

[Request] Sony Vaio VGC-JS110J

Hiya, I'm looking for information on modding AMI Bios' or help "un-dumb-ifying" this All-in-one's BIOS.
It's old, I know ; It's pre Aptio/EFI so, AMIbcp is of no help to me; I wish.
Ultimately I want all available modules' settings available.
  • Updated CPU microcode, if available for CPUID 01067A
  • Possible updated VBIOS, removal of nvidia OPROM (It seems to have it despite that chip not being present on the motherboard.)
  • Change machine type if applicable to non-portable. Windows sees its display as a "mobile pc display" and doesnt give the option to control it's brightness
  • Enable AHCI option, Not sure which ROM to add. I have two.
  • Maybe SLIC update from 2.0
  • Removal of BIOS splash, display all messages during post
Model: Sony Vaio VGC-JS110J
Bios Version: R0204T4 12/14/2009 American Megatrends Inc.
(Bios version seems to be shared among many Vaio AIOs of the same age, so it may be able to be used with others.)
Link to official bios download:
http://dlv.update.sony.net/US/pc/AIBSYS-...6-1020.EXE
It's a PIA to collect, extracting the EXE gets garbage files, it's packed twice. See below.

Asus 300 series bioses and what I tried so far.

Hello guys, since I have an x510uqr laptop model I've been tinkering with it since I got it in my hands, what I know so far:
Modifying Setup order to show up menus in bios doesn't work.
Modifying Amitse/setup order do not work as well.
Flashing from windows is only possible using FPT v11, you have to get RU.efi and remove bios lock first.
All settings that can be changed through amibcp will work.
Now since I have no idea where to go further to decode and find where menus are actually "held" is there anyone that has any idea?
p.s. USER/Supervisor in Amibcp makes no difference as well.
bios can be found here http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/X510...RAS302.zip

Hallo,
I am looking for BIOS based on last official one (2209) with support for Xeon E5645, it should be 06C0 microcode. The CPU is working in mobo generally, but it shows as "Genuine Intel® CPU 000 @ 2.40GHz".

Thank you in advance for help.

I would like to operate core 2 extreme qx 9300 with inspiron 1545
core 2 extreme The cpuid of qx 9300 is 1067 A
In the official inspiron 1545 bios the code of 1067 A is the one of 2008/04/09 old and supports core 2 extreme qx 9300 Precision M6400 bios is 2011/10/04 that is newer than inspiron 1545
So I thought that it would be better to replace microcode and did the following

[1], I have inspiron 1545 a14 bios (https://goo.gl/U3Z5nj) and
Precision M6400 a13 bios (https://goo.gl/k1UeTk)
Downloaded.

[2], both of the two exe files
filename.exe / writehdrfile
And I got two bios .hdr files

[3], I checked the position, size and date of microcode using MCE.exe in UBU_v1_70_b8_Dev and I was convinced that the bios file of inspiron1545 contains the old microcode

[4] Open the .hdr file using HxD Hex Editor and copy the character string of 0x2000 size from the position confirmed from the Precision M6400 bios file with MCE.exe and replace it with microcode of Inspiron 1545

[5], this worked Inspiron 1545's 1067 microcode .hdr file was replaced by the one on October 4, 2011

[6], I learned that PhoenixTool.exe can compress .hdr files into .gz and remodeled.hdr file was compressed by PhoenixTool but PhoenixTool had {no vaild checksums found}  Huh Angry

[7] Then I compressed my unmodified. hdr file with PhoenixTool This worked fine The bios.gz file was completed

[8],When I confirmed the contents with 7-zip I confirmed the size that bios.hdr was in and it was exactly the same as the remodeled .hdr file so I overwrote it with a remodeled .hdr file

[9], usb
not remodeled biosfile.exe
I added a modified. Hdr file
bios.gz
I entered biosfile.exe / readgzfile in the dos window I thought this would work. But the dell bios updater said {ROM file CRC - 32 is incorrect. Bad ROM file} Angry Angry Angry

I think that crc32 is checked before updating bios and it is supposed not to update unless it matches Is there a way to match crc32 with unmodified file or how to skip crc32 check?
You can use any method
I am tolerating risks

Thank you

HP DV9700 Unlock Request

Hey, I have a DV9743CL (specs) laptop, and I was wondering if anyone could please unlock the hidden menus on it. I was browsing the ROM I have and it does seem to have the ability as the values are there, however, I do not know how I would modify the ROM in order to enable it. The only ROMs I can find on this website are for AMD DV9XXX series, which wouldn't be compatible with my Intel one, or is for a DV6XXX series, which uses a different chipset.

Anyways, here is the BIOS: 30CCF59.7z
That is the current BIOS I am using, it is for a DV9684, it already has a wifi whitelist and SLIC. However, the original BIOS for this laptop is apparently extinct.

I've a Lenovo B50-30 laptop. Its BIOS (9CCN35WW) can be downloaded from here. I want the WiFi whitelist to be removed, so I can replace the WiFi chip (04:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter [168c:0036] (rev 01)). Will there be a risk of bricking when I try to flash the modded BIOS? And how can I flash the modded BIOS? Thanks in advance.

[Request] HP Pavilion g6-2239sr BIOS Unlock

Hello, asking you to unlock BIOS on this laptop. My general problem with it that i think it is able to have IOMMU features for kvm device passthough, but it is locked, and oh boy the BIOS itself is so poor on features. So yeah generally i would be thankfull for unlocking (if possible) IOMMU (VT-d) feature, and ofc for every other feature i can fiddle with.
Apparently i can't update BIOS from hp support page, because it uses windows application and i am running Ubuntu GNU/Linux.

Laptop: HP Pavilion g6-2239sr
Current BIOS: InsydeN20 Rev. 3.7
I also saw someone mentioning F.<num> info about BIOS during my search so mine is: F.26

Beforehand, Thanks for help!
