Fujitsu Lifebook NH751

Hello,

i wanted to ask, if it is possible to upgrade the BIOS of my Fujitsu Lifebook NH751 running with a Sandy Bridge "Mobile DualCore Intel Core i7-2640M, 3000 MHz (30 x 100)" so that is is possible to upgrade to a Ivy Bridge "i7-3520M" ore any other I7 from the Ivy Bridge series.
The reason for this is, that i want to use PCIE 3.0 which came out with this processor familly.
I contacted Fujitsu support, but they where not able to tell me, if a Sandy Bridge Processor would be compatible with my mainboard. The only thing, they mentioned, is that i possibly have to use a modified BIOS.
Physically the processors fit into the socket, because it was not changed for Ivy Bridhe an the i7-3520M has 35 W too, but i don't kmow if it will work with the intel Chipset.

The last Bios available from Fujitsu is "1.20 (05.07.2012)"

EFI password in x86 Android Tablet

Hi Forum.

I have this Android BayTrail x86 tablet (Medion LifeTab P8314 / MD99612) I wanted to install Linux or a newer Android to. To boot Linux from an USB stick I wanted to change the boot order, but I can not access the EFI setup. Normally the setup can not be accessed, but booting from a Android-x86 LiveUSB-Stick gave me the option to enter the EFI setup. When I chose this, a BIOS-setup-like text screen appears and wants me to input a password, supposedly to enter the BIOS setup. Is there a way to disable that by modding the ROM?
I have extracted the AMI BIOS ROM (see attachment) using "AfuEfix64.efi". I can open that file in AMIBCP 5.01, but got no idea where to search...

Any hints on removing that password are welcome. I'm not afraid to break the device, so hack away... Wink

Lenovo S30 Unlock

I am seeking an unlocked bios for the purposes of overclocking and or IVY Bridge support on an early-ish model Lenovo S30 0569 the bios I would like to mod is version A0KT61A. I would be willing to make a Donation or reimbursement for either of those modifications. I have confirmed with a lenovo tech that the newer A1 bios will brick my MoBo due to other changes to the actual board that were made at the time of the switch over to the newer 430 series models and this seems proven by the last member on here who bricked his board attempting it. Let me know what you need that hasn't been supplied here https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...ge-Support

G50vt-x5 upgrade from x9100 to QX9300 (Freezing at startup)

Hello,

I have had this laptop since 2008 and it has served me well. I still use it as my main, daily computer. It just feels tough. I have a newer, much faster computer, but I cant stand how cheap it feels.

I have taken great care of this laptop since its taken good care of me. I have upgraded:
-Ram from 4gb to 8gb DDR2 800mhz
-CPU from its original P7450 (2.13)-> T9600 (2.80) -> x9100 (3.07) and hopefully to the QX9300 (quad core 2.53)
-Placed an SSD as the main storage and startup. Have 320gb HDD as a 2nd storage since it accepts 2 drives.
-Express Card 54mm (hidden, doesn't pop out)
-Replaced the battery
-Free upgrade to windows 10
-bluetooth usb
-Upgraded the old fan with a more efficient one that had better reviews. more fins/blades)
-I have the external Opolar Sucktion cooler. Works great.
-Replace thermal paste every 6months or so.
-I also always have it connected to a 2nd Display since I work and watch movies. Performance is solid. But a quad core vs duo core would really be nice. Especially since I multitask and run antivirus and malware daily.

Very happy with this laptop. The SSD and overclocked (this laptop has built in Turbo and Turbo Extreme Options) have allowed me to use this computer 10 years later. Very happy with it still.

This time, I am having trouble replacing the CPU. From what I read, its the same fitting and should be able to work, but I dont know what I can do next.

I restarted it a few times, but it freezes as soon as the windows logo pops up. The "loading" circle comes out but doesn't complete one cycle. Freezes instantly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I realize that this may not be the best place to post this, however I hope that these can help others.
I had found most of these by trial-and-error, by manually specifying files from Lenovo's servers.

I'll be glad for any additions to the list.

If the firmware version is listed, but not linked, that means that I am aware of that firmware's location, however I have not yet managed to find the filename.

https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles...SC=EMEA_26
This link is for the actual BIOS that I'm using.

Pc is running an AMD A12-9720p processor and an AMD Radeon RX 540 graphics card.

Thanks.

Possibly Bricked G500 Due To DVMT Pre-Alloc Increase to 1024

I have a G500 laptop with a recently upgraded i5-3340m inside.

I originally bought the cpu and did the bios-mod for hackintosh. I was having some graphical glitches on sierra and read that you could fix it by allocating more than the original 64mb ram. I tried increasing it to 512 (Already too high for comfort), but that didn't work. Hence, i upped it to 1024. BIG MISTAKE! Now it won't even post. It is on a boot loop. I have tried many things:

  1. Remove battery, hold power button for 20 sec, then boot back up. Nothing
  2. Reset CMOS by unplugging CMOS battery for over 3 hours. Nothing
  3. InsydeH20 recovery. Fan spins loud, but does nothing from there. USB flashes 2 times. No beeps.
Is it possible I fried the CPU? I have the original CPU, but I don't want to risk frying it. I know about the EEPROM method, but I really don't feel comfortable taking the chip off, reprogramming it, and reseating it, based on the numerous guides I've seen with all different methods of taking it off.

If you would like me to upload a video, I will.

Thank you,
Chris

Custom splash screen to replace acer splash screen nothing else is modified in this bios! ....!!bios is for Acer Aspire M5200-M1200!!... really nice if you wanna get rid of annoying acer logo when using the pc on a daily basis........ i Can also extract whatever splashscreen from whatever ami aptio or amibios8 systems without any risk and give a confirm working im hoping to release a tool to update acer splash screens and let the user customize whatever they want on the image. This one is a lion with a recovery keys so user knows which keys start recovery not useful unless you pinout the com ports which is boring and annoying i dont recommend at all but good to know if someone finds out what name the recovery is looking for or has a floppy drive might work regardless of filename not sure havent tried... i soldered my own com port but the recovery does work its not just text i added in the picture if you use a ps\2 keyboard you will be able to initialize recovery by holding ctrl+home when your keyboard lights up on boot. and it will let you know in recovery by issuing one beep every 30 seconds then it will search when it detects floppy or cd drive.. Anyway at least this pc has one mod now the splash screen is just a neutral screen easier on the eyes than the oem splash screen..... there is like two things i unhid by setting to supervisor which i believe operates the com port and the other port i also was able to get a tpm menu to show up no idea what it does but looking into it i guess.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad N586 with an Insyde BIOS 68CN17WW (v1.03) that I'd like to install a new WiFi card in, but I need a modded BIOS to do that. Lenovo doesn’t have a download link for the bios, so I used BIOS Backup ToolKit V2.0 to backup the BIOS, and the file is on my google drive HERE. The PCI ID for the current card is PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&CC_0280. If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated!
