[REQUEST] InsydeH20 Toshiba satlellite C655D

Hello, I am attempting to mess with a recently bought Toshiba satellite C655D and was hoping to find a unlocked version of the BIOS somewhere on the internet. But so far have failed.Now this is not exactly a huge deal. I picked this laptop up for my child for next to nothing. But after checking all the specs i can understand why. i also know that overclocking on a laptop is almost pointless because of overheating but bricking it wouldnt exactly hurt my wallet much.

I am Really only want to overclock it, but as most laptops are, the feature to overclock or adjust any speeds or settings in locked.
Id be more then happy to donate to the unlocker for their time.

Hi there. I would like to modify the thermal throttling and fan speed in my laptop. Throttling starts at around 70 degrees (which is stupidly low) and the fan never reaches its maximum speed (guess they wanted to avoid the noise?) but both options are hidden in the bios and cant be modified by any software.

I everyone, I'm trying to put a Core 2 Q9100 or QX9300 on an Acer Aspire 5935g, so I have to add some microcode to its BIOS, but I can't Sad
Can you do it for me?
Here all you need:
Microcode for Q9100 and QX9300 (Both with CPUID 1067a): https://files.fm/f/22kfhtwb

What I did: Merged all microcode files to create one micorcode file.bin, then with cbrom I tryied to add that file to the original bios (the original bios is a .FD file, so I saved it as a .BIN file with HxD), but the program won't work, so here I am asking for your help!

Hello to All.

I think that the Athlon II X2 260u Stepping C2 (AD260USCK23GQ) (TDP 25W!) should work in ALiveNF6G-DVI,
because ALiveNF6G-GLAN P1.80 (and ALiveNF6G-DVI with BIOS L2.28 (2009 year), I think it should) supports Regor Stepping C2 (not C3, unfortunately).
It is correct?
What do you think about this?

And anyway, ALiveNF6G-* can use any AMD CPU with TDP 25W or less than 35W?

I'm a software engineering (college) student, and my school laptop (Z50-70) is out of commission. I really need my laptop back up and running soon for school, so I appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks in advance!

Background
Due to a known bug in Ubuntu 17.10, my BIOS was corrupted, and changes are not saved. My HDD was formatted, and since BIOS changes cannot be saved, I cannot change the boot order to boot using another device. I have ordered a CH341A based programmer and a test clip similar to those mentioned on a thread here on bios-mods. (Source 1 below)

I've been searching for clear instructions on how to proceed, but I'm having troubles with that. I can extract the .exe BIOS update from Lenovo to get a .fd file, but I believe I need a .bin file to flash the chip. I was able to find someone in the same situation as me on the Ubuntu bug report page. (Source 2 below)

Questions
1)  Where do I get a .bin file to flash the chip with?
2)  Do I need to read my chip and modify the current BIOS, or can I simply use a .bin found online?
3)  What did the individual from the bug report comment (Source 2 below) mean about the different regions or the ROM?
4)  What software should I use? E.g. software to read, write, and edit the ROM data.

Hello,
I have an Acer Power m8 computer that came with the MCP61PM-AM HT2000 Rev 1.0A motherboard. I think it's fowconn or ECS motherboard.

I flashed the BIOS with the latest firmware of Acer last week (R01_C0) :here (https://www.acer.com/ac/fr/FR/content/support-product/923?b=1) 2008/12/09 Version: R01-C0, and everything went fine with the Winflash software  Smile  ! It is an award 6.00 pg bios. I use this motherboard as a computer server and my purpose is to underclock a little the cpu to reduce consumption ! But this latest acer bios is locked, there are no clock options... Sad

Remove SPI Flash lock Acer Spin SP513-51

Hello, I have Acer Spin SP513-51 ultrabook and there is the newest BIOS InsydeH20 1.11. I want to change DVMT Size to 64MB but when I changing in EFI Shell (grub) it throws error: can't set variable using efi (error: 0x0000000000000008) so I think that BIOS is write locked Sad. Having Advanced menu will be nice too Tongue
Bios chip is MX25L6473F and I have CH341 programmer so it won't be problem to flash it. I need only to buy pomona clip because i don't want to solder it because I can damage it like my old router Tongue Now I only want to know it is possible to activate this menu or change DVMT size and if yes it will be nice to get modified bios so when I will get pomona clip I can flash it. Of course for help I can donate Smile
I tried to set DVMT Size via setup_var 0xDF 0x2

I need your help !! I am very keen upgrade my Clevo to GTX 1070. They here http://www.eurocom.com/ec/upgrade(2,286,0)CLEVO_P150SM-A_SAGER_NP8268 say it is possible but it requires some "Unlocked BIOS and All Custom written drivers". My question is how to get those ?? I was looking for in the internet but I only found some references to premamod bios web site that does not seem to be operational any more. Please help ! Huh

my friend gave me his aunts old g560 and ive been upgrading it slowly overtime. i want to remove the optical drive and replace it with a caddy to house the original hdd and add an ssd where the original hdd was. ive found the bios to have a password which to the life of me i cant find a way passed so i may resort to buying a used motherboard unless theres a way to mod past the password? i need to get passed the password to properly install the two hard drives. i also intend to upgrade the wifi to a Intel 7260HMW and am aware theres a whitelist prohibiting the system from booting with it installed. my g560 is running the latest bios

and ive found this modded bios that someone claims to have worked but i cant figure out how i can flash it to the card so any help would be much appreciated, thank you

I have a g560 with a bios lock, is there a way to mod past this? i also want to upgrade to Intel Dual Band .-AC 7260 to add faster wifi/ Bluetooth functionality but I need a way past the whitelist.
my bios is the latest one currently available

this is a link to a modded bios that supposedly works for removing the whitelist, is there a way to check this? I dont want to flash it before I can confirm it works without bricking.

Acer Aspire A517 - Insyde Bios - Secret Keys?

Hi guys!

I recently bought an Acer Aspire laptop (A517-51G-55G9) and a weird thing just happened......

I needed to get into the BIOS and change something, I couldn't remember which F-Key got me into the BIOS, so I just started hitting everything from escape to F12 etc and then, finally, up comes the BIOS.....

But here's the weird part. When I was last in the BIOS it was really stripped down - everything useful was hidden. This time, the entire BIOS was exposed. And I mean everything. Pages and pages of screens with really arcane settings that I have no clue as to what they do. You could overclock it, overclock the memory, change every little bit of the processor power management, change which GPU it uses - I mean, TONS of options.

So I re-start the computer, go back into the BIOS (to see if it's still the same) and no, it's back to the lame factory screens.

The only thing that could cause this would have been that I entered some kind of 'secret' key setting when I got into the BIOS the first time. I knew I should have taken pictures of the screens because you would not believe what was exposed. 

So my question is, have I stumbled onto something that lots of people already know about, and if so, what are the magic keystrokes that I entered in when I got the full options screens? What is the secret key(s)?
