Win 7/10 from SSD -- Insyde BIOS the problem?

I've built my own desktop systems for 30+ years, tweaked BIOS settings for odd drive combos, switched several systems from HDD to SSD, but this has me beat:

The factory HDD in my wife's HP Pavilion m7-1015dx (i7, 2.3 GHz, 8GB, vintage 2012) died recently, and as long as I was replacing it I thought she'd get some extra zip from a Kingston SUV400 SSD. When I installed it -- first time I'd looked at the InsydeH20 F.29 BIOS setup -- I was surprised to see no SATA mode or AHCI choices, just a "Legacy Support" toggle between CSM for WIn XP/Vista/7 and UEFI mode for win 8/10.

Since then I've had no luck getting Win 10, Win 7 or even XP to install successfully to the SSD. They stop after the first restart, complaining that winload.efi or winload.exe is absent or corrupt. Scanos, rebuildbcd etc. don't help. (I diskpart clean the SSD between each attempt.) In frustration I bought a new laptop HDD and easily put Win 10 on that, then cloned it to the SSD and swapped the latter back in as sole drive: again, no luck. The drive is always seen by BIOS and Win installers, but never takes a successful install with either "legacy support" choice, although it behaves perfectly in every drive test and as a Windows 10 boot drive on other systems.

So... I have yet to contact anyone online who has successfully put a SSD with Windows into an m7-1015dx; HP offers no support. I did notice some complaints about the highly "locked-down" BIOS. It's working with the HDD, but I'd still much prefer the SSD.

(1) has anybody else encountered a platform that ought to -- but just WON'T -- run an SSD with Windows?
(2) does it seem likely that more fine-grained AHCI, SAT mode etc settings might help?
(3) if so, what's the most bulletproof kit for Insyde? I've flashed BIOSes before, but it makes me nervous and I'd like a well-tested route.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5109 with an AMD A6-4400M. I'm not sure if this is even possible with an unlocked bios with this laptop, but I wanted to moderately overclock the CPU since I have plenty of thermal headroom (maxes out at 65C at full load). I also wanted to change memory frequencies because the performance of the integrated graphics benefits from faster memory speed. Even if the only way to overclock the CPU is by changing the bus speed, that's fine with me. Thanks.

Asus G751JT NVMe Insertion

I followed the below guide for inserting an NVMe module into my BIOS so that it could boot an SSD i picked up cheaply, the modding seemed to go ok without any errors or warning messages but im not having much luck flashing the file. Firstly it was moaning because it wasnt a new bios so i had to use the /nodate switch on winflash but now its saying 'bios file is not valid"

Could someone please tell me how to override the error and more importantly is the error normal because the bios has been edited?
Ive attached the bios files in case anyone wanted a root around.

Hello, could someone help me with this issue please? 

I have an HP Envy 1110ea running Windows 7 64Bit which uses the following 
BIOS: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50501-51000/sp50600.exe. 

I cannot afford to replace this Laptop yet. 

I recently upgraded the Processor to an i7-920XM, I have installed 16GB of Ram to keep me running. 

However I am unable to upgrade the GPU on the Motherboard (ATI-5830). 

I purchased a GDC Beast V8.0 and mini PCIe to HDMI adapter in the hope I could run the GDC Beast adapter into an old AMD R9 280x for OpenCL work. The adapter is shown here:

If I remove my Wireless Card and I connect the GDC Beast cable and adapter and R9 280x via the mini Pcie Slot for the Wireless Card and I try to boot into Windows 7 I get a blank screen on the laptop and no output from the video card at all. 

If I just connect the GDC Beast cable (the HDMI side disconnected)  I see Error 107 complaining that the Wireless Card is not HP approved or is missing.  It asks me to press any key to continue. I can then boot into Windows 7 64bit but I cannot see the R9 280x or the GDC Beast Adapter. 

I think this behaviour may be because the Wireless Card is whitelisted, and since the GDC Beast adapter is not on the Whitelist or the Wifi Card is removed ... the mini PCIe port gets disabled if I enter continue and boot into Windows 7. 

I downloaded the following and updated my BIOS in the hope that it would ignore the check for the wireless card and let me run with the GDC Beast Adapter and R9 280x instead:

However running the above modified BIOS I see the same behaviour - I still see the 107 error if I just connect the GDC adapter cable or I get no video output at all if I connect the GDC adapter cable and Adapter and R9 280x card. 

I forgot to mention that the GDC Beast adapter and R9 280x works fine on an older Toshiba Laptop I have, I simply removed the Wireless Card and I connected the same setup and it works fine. The issue is not the GDC Beast Adapter. 

Any advice / help really appreciated.

I do have 4810mq and gtx 850m gddr3.

Can anyone please give me a hand with it?

Premamod is down and i have no access to it =(

I do also have spi programmer if needed, this is not a problem

Hi.

Could someone experienced enough give me some answers please?

I want to switch Pentium B960 to i3 2328m on a HM-70 chipset.
Problem is laptop restarts each 30 minutes or so after that.
Downgrading back to B960 fixes this problem.

So it could be:
1 damaged CPU unit (think its not - same results on another i7 unit)
2 some vendor`s ME built in limitations
3 result of BIOS microcode missing for i3

So my question is: could wrong/missing microcode cause 30 min power interruption restarts?

Hello all, 
I am trying to fix an Acer Asprire V5-551 that is having the black boot screen issue. I want to try to flash the bios from a flash drive, but the official website only has windows versions of the flash utility. I looked through the On Site repository and there was something that looked similar, but didn't say what model(s) it was for. I'm basically asking the same question as this guy. I would be comfortable buying the tools, opening the laptop and flashing the chip directly, but I would still need the file to flash onto it. 
Any help you guys can give would be appreciated,

Problem with tablet Intel to flash bios with custom logo

Hi. I have an Unusual 7W First tablet with Intel processor and it was running windows 8.1.
I updated it to windows 10, but in the splash screen it appears even in the logo powered by windows 8 ... so I decided to modify the image so that I put windows only.
I have managed to extract the rom with the latest version of "AMIBIOS_and_Aptio_AMI_Firmware_Update_Utility", remove the splash screen with "ChangeLogo_v5" and have edited it and left it to my liking.

I used "ChangeLogo_v5" to load the backup of the bios rom the new image, I have skipped a resolution size warning but I have read that it is normal and I have continued the process ... and I have skipped the following warning "Warning! Remplacing logos may invalidate secure flash signature, do you wish to continue?"
I can continue to log in to the logos. I have accepted and saved the new backup.

When I try to flash it with "AMIBIOS_and_Aptio_AMI_Firmware_Update_Utility" with Aptio V which is the one that corresponds to my tablet I find two options "afu and btg", I extract the rom with afu, so as I do not know where they differ i have always used afu , Because I have done the whole process with this method ...
18 - Error: Secure flash rom verify fail "... and there was no way to flash it.

I have read several issues that deal with this error, and I have found the program "Backup tools" and created the results file, I send it to you to have a visit

Inside I have included the new splash screen that I want to integrate.

I have also tested with another solution from another forum topic where they used "Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0", but it does not recognize the bios version, so I can not extract it.

Please, ask for help to help me create a modified rom with this splash screen and be able to flash it.
