problem Asus G75V laptop battery replacement

The other day I turned on my computer Asus G75V (after it had been off for about a week) and it would not boot up--I received a "critical low battery" error. The thing is, there was no battery in the machine. I popped in a long-expired battery to see what would happen and the computer would not even turn on. cbattery.co.uk , I have ruled out the Asus G75V AC adapter--I have another laptop of the same model which boots up just fine with either adapter, but this one will not boot with either. I finally got the machine to boot up by popping in the Asus G75V battery at a strategic moment just before the error appears. It works fine as long as I leave it running, but Windows thinks that it is running from the battery ("Current Power Source: Batteries - Total Battery Power Remaining: Unknown") and the computer dies instantly if I remove the battery. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the battery in Device Manager to no avail. Is there anything else I can do, or do I need to make the backup Asus G75V laptop my primary?

Can you please remove the whitelist from my bios. My WiFi half mini PCIe card died and I need to put a new one.

This is a 64 bit operating system.

Hp XW8400 Bios settings

This is probably the wrong place for asking but in any event...

I'm trying to get my box to power up and boot automatically, but after post I get F1 (boot menu) displayed.

I have a default device configured to boot from, but the machine always paused with the F1 Boot menu prompt.

any one know how to disable this menu item and just continue with the boot process?

Hello, bios-mods community.
I need to unlock the bios in order to change multiplier greater than 6x.
currently it's locked to 6x200 which is 1200MHz. I have E5300@2.60GHz CPU.

Here is an official latest BIOS firmware. Please change the multiplier to 13x , so it will be equal to CPU.

Primary objective: Enable the use of ANY wifi module.
Optional objective: Enable advanced options in bios.

About the wifi modules, i've tried to use an intel centrino module 6230 and a 112BNHMW, both disable my keyboard and get me BSOD in windows. Tried in UEFI and Legacy mode, same result. Modules from Atheros and Broadcom works fine. The Intel modules works fine in a different notebook.
I want to use WIDI, so Intel is neccesary.

Hi all,

I've unlocked the BIOS on my Dell Vostro 3450 (Version A11-mod) and would like some help/advice selecting the proper settings for what I want to do.

The internal display is badly damaged and basically unusable so the laptop lives attached to an external monitor/kbd/mouse. This works fine as long as I'm booted into an OS. But when I want to change operating systems (I maintain several on this machine), I need to open the lid and press Fn+F1 in order to display the boot manager on the external monitor. Doing this several times a day quickly becomes tiresome - and I still can't see the entire OS boot sequence on the external display.

I'd really like to completely disable the internal display and direct all graphical output through the VGA port to the external monitor. Once I unlocked the BIOS, I saw several options under Advanced/System Agent/Graphics that looked promising but everything I tried either did nothing or resulted in boot hanging at POST (Dell splash screen).

There must be some way to accomplish this seemingly simple objective. Has anyone here done this or knows enough about the various settings to make an educated guess? Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi... Please Help me, I have new laptop ACER ASPIRE E1-571G with Intel Core i5-3230M 2.6GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz..
NVIDIA GeForece GT 620M with 1 GB Dedicated VRAM.
besides integrated GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 Ivy Bridge GT2.
4 GB DDR3 Memory.
Motherboard: Acer EA50_HC_CR
The BIOS brand is: InsydeH2O

The Original BIOS version that came with the laptop was 2.08, I updated it to the latest BIOS version from the ACER official site, and now the BIOS version is 2.15.

in both versions - the original and the updated version - there's no effective option but just the Boot order... I want to have the full Menus to be shown and available, like: Advanced tab, Power, and all possible tabs and options...

Hi,

I've used the motherboard from a broken acer aspire m7720 for the computer of a friend. Its a foxconn gateway tbgm01 . The annoying thing is that the computer in the lian li case shows an acer splashscreen Big Grin

I would be very happy if somebody would change it for me, because I dont have the knowledge. Also (if possible) remove information about acer from the bios so windows wont detect manufacturer acer.

Hello, I'm trying to open up the advanced options for my laptop, but alas, Insyde doesn't want me to. I don't know much about the BIOS other than what they do and the options they give, so I am a little hesitant on trying to mod it myself. Basically, all I care about right now is being able to change the SATA Controller to AHCI.


Currently, the only useful options are to set up a BIOS password (which I don't have) and to change the boot order.

Anyways, here are my specs and whatnot:

- Sony Vaio VPCEH24FX
- Running Windows 7 + Linux Mint 15 KDE
- InsydeH2O Bios Rev. 3.5 (updated version) R0200Z9
