Extract Boot Splash Screen of Lenovo ideapad 100-15IBD and use this on G400s touch

Hi Friends,
Greetings of the day! Recently I updated my Lenovo ideapad 100-15IBD Bios with the software on their website and I was blown away by the new Lenovo logo that comes as splash screen on this new laptop. However, BIOS has not been updated for my other laptop G400s touch. So I was wondering if i could extract the splash screen image of Lenovo ideapad 100-15IBD and in some way incorporate it on Lenovo G400s touch BIOS using some flash utility  it would be helpful.
l tried the phoenix tool 266 method but .rom files with lenovo splash screen I could not find it. I used irfan view to view each .rom file no success. I don't know where I am going wrong or which other software to use. Since it is Insyde platform I even used EzH2O but the .fd file shows some fv information error. Its a new idea I am trying out. Kindly help in this matter.

Mod it myself? Dell Precision 360

What do I need to mod the BIOS for a Dell Precision 360 Workstation? I downloaded the latest BIOS http://downloads.dell.com/bios/WS360A08.EXE

With a 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 and (soon as I can find the olde stuff) 4 gig PC3200 it should fare pretty well with Win7, perhaps even 10. Especially if I replace the old Quadro 1000 8x AGP card with something better.

Biostar max power warning bypass and possible unlock

Hello

With the help of others at Overclock.net I have modded my BIOS successfully to accept Xeon codes and run Xeon E5450 on my Biostar G413DC Rev7 with full functionality.

Max TDP of board is 95w, and highest listed quadcore is Q9550 2.83Ghz@95w with MPD of 132.48w.

The E5450 SLBBM is an 80w chip @ 3.0Ghz. MPD is 133.25w and 108.5 (sustained).

It seems to me that my board should safely run the E5450 at stock, and should accept some OC? My problem is that on boot, I get a "max power of CPU is higher than 95w" warning with countdown timer from 7 seconds to shutdown. If i press F10, it bypasses and boots perfectly and runs at normal temps and speeds.

Goals:
-Modify BIOS to avoid warning (go away)
-voltage in my BIOS is locked and greyed out. Is it possible to unlock this?

Any help is appreciated.

abit ip35-e incompatibility with xfx 260x

Dug up the old ip35-e and got an x5460 to play with. It will boot with the 260x, but nothing is displayed (the card works fine in other builds). I tested a 4870 and gt210 and both work fine. Installed Windows and used an x1 riser to attach the 260x as a secondary adapter. Drivers installed fine and it works as it should. Swapped it back to the x16 slot, and again, no display. I found that it actually does boot, and works once the drivers are loaded (except that post and boot are dark).

I'm guessing this is more a vbios issue then? Has anyone heard of option rom incompatibilities? Any ideas how to proceed?

HP EliteBook 8460p UEFI chip programming - need modded BIOS

Hello everyone

Here is my issue.

My HP BIOS has bricked after update. I have tried every recovery method I could find through online forums, including restoring through a USB stick. Nothing has worked since the computer does not respond to any startup key combination. So I have decided to program the chip via a EEPROM programmer.

So here are the details:

I have THIS programmer working with a CH341a software, and I am using a TEST CLIP to flash the chip (MXIC MX25L6406EM2I-12G).

I have downloaded from the HP website a few versions of the BIOS. I have extracted the contents of the exe file, and found the .bin BIOS file (under a .CAB file). I have tried programming a few versions of these .bin files without any success. I looked a bit more online and found that the BIOS files I have used might be encrypted, and I have not found any way of decrypting them, since these UEFI BIOS versions do not include any .fd files, or insydeflash.exe, so the Phoenix Tool is no use as far as I can understand.

So can anyone help me get a modded .bin file that I can program with the tools described? The programmer software can only accept .bin files.

Or if there is something obvious that I am missing, can someone point it out to me?

Thank you

PS - i attached the original BIOS downloaded from HP - i need the 68SCF version

[REQUEST] Dell 5520 Unlock Graphic Card Settings

Hi,

First of all, I need to tell you this, my laptop is actually Dell 7520 but my bios chip was corrupted (beeping) and they replaced it with 5520 chip. Everthing works fine but except switchable graphics. When I install AMD driver, both my cards are disabled. Like I never installed their drivers, I can't use them. Anyway, I did some research and I guess I can fix this issue with unlocked bios by changing them manually.

BUT if we can change my current bios software with 7520's bios software. I think that would be the best solution but I am not sure if we can the main bios chip software.

What should I do for the best solution? And how can I get the neccessary infos of my current BIOS software to provide you?

[Request] Unlock Positivo Sim+

Hello!

This is the first time i'm posting a thread here so please correct me if i'm doing something wrong!

I need help on modding my notebook uefi bios which is a....

(i might call it generic because this brand is not as good as the others, and because it's a national brand.)
it's name is Positivo Sim+ 3000 series;
(i think is 3220 or 3250 i don't know i can't find this information since i removed it's info sticker that was placed in it a few years ago)

So let's get to the point:
#I've discovered that this notebook uses an Aptio IV AMI uefi, and it's factory locked for certain distros, i can only install systems(in UEFI mode) which has a microsoft signature file or something(like ubuntu for example which has this compatibility.)
#I have tried to use VMware on the notebook to run a linux distro(for education purposes) and VWware complained that VT-x was disabled in bios(there is no menu for VT-x activation, so i used AMI tools to discover if this feature is locked in bios, and i did find it as many other features that was locked too!
#I've tried to unlock then all but when i flashed the modded bios i just have no effect.(maybe it's firmware is OEM locked? i don't know)

So i need someone to help me advance on unlocking this bios. I'll provide many information as possible, i'm familiar with linux if in some point it needs to be used for this mod.

Any help would be kindly appreciated! Smile

Thank you!

Hi there,

Attached is a dump of my bios (taken using flashrom, a pi and a clip).

Could someone remove the wifi whitelist or give me some instruction on how to do this?

Also, think there is a restriction on the max ram but not sure. Could that be removed too?

Upgraded T7800 CPU on Lenovo G550 laptop

Hi guys, I succesfully upgraded a T7800 on my laptop (old T6570). It works but, after BIOS screen, it shows me the list of the installed hardware and in the end - FB No microcode update loaded for alternate processor. I have to press F1 and system starts but may work only 1-2 min and shutdown.
(I see that system find new T7800 when loaded and install drivers, but still shutdown every time after 1 min)

My bios official for x64bit w7
18CN44WW(v2.53)
CPU spec code is SLAF6.
As I understand, need to inject microcode for new processor, but dont know how.

Can some help me?
