I ordered a faster Wlan card for my Lenovo G710.

I want to replace the Broadcom 802.11 with an Intel Wireless-AC 7260 card.

Hello,

I have a lenovo Z560 laptop(model 0914) and tried to upgrade the Wificard but received the error "unauthorized wireless network card is plugged in power off and remove it"

Can anyone assist me with whitelist removal for my laptop.

Sony Vaio vs. Extreme Processors

Hi guys,

I bought an I7-920xm processor for my Sony Vaio laptop but it doesn't boot up.  I know it may be an old subject since anything I search and find on this site is a couple years old but I thought it won't hurt trying to ask.

Everything I have read so far says the Sony BIOS from AMI doesn't allow the use of the extreme processors.  A couple threads on here mention that a custom bios can remove the limitations to use the extreme processor.

Any help or even point me in the direction of another thread to go through is greatly appreciated.

BIOS reads as follows

MODEL: VPCF13NFX
BIOS VERSION: R0190Y9
EC VERSION: K0190Y9
ME VERSION: 6.0.30.119

Also saw other people post the original BIOS from Sony

Hi, first message here, so excuse me if I miss some things or don't fully understand fully how it works.
First of all, if you succeed in unlocking the BIOS, will it be safe for me to install it ? And what will the advantages of such a thing ?
More, I'm willing to install a I7-4700MQ, which was not implemented inside the original BIOS (since it's a CPU ACER never used on this model), so could this CPU be included in the file you'll give me ?

Hi, I'm really new to this unlocking bios stuff and this would be my first time doing so. 

I've gotten to the part under "BIOS update" where you are suppoused to "Copy the BIOS update image that you want to flash to the USB flashdrive" and I have literally no idea where to get this. My motherboard runs on AMI that was last updated 2009 and is version P01-A3. Whatever that means.

The reason for me to update the BIOS is to install more RAM since the BIOS I have now wont let me. (The motherboard is supposed to handle the parts I've gotten, that I am pretty sure of.

My motherboard is a Packard Bell RS740 and my computer is a pre-built Packard Bell iextreme M5120.

If somebody could help me with this I would be really gratefull!

If more info is needed just tell me since I have no idea what is needed to find the right BIOS update image.

English is not my first language so please exuse any errors. Cheers!

Like other machines in 2012 era (Sony in particular), these laptops have UEFI but there is no way to disable it in the BIOS. I can't re-install Windows 10 or Linux using CSM as these auto detects UEFI but will ended up freezing.

I can see that in PlatformSetupAdvanced , the options are there. The problem is that the Advanced menu is not available at all in the BIOS. Only INFORMATION, MAIN, SECURITY, BOOT and EXIT are available. I am planning to swap the INFORMATION or SECURITY for ADVANCED so that I can disable UEFI/CSM and maybe other hidden options.

I tried to find the pages for the tabs and planned to change the tab ID but it's quite cryptic.

Alienware X51 R2 BIOS Unlock

Hello everyone!
I have an Alienware X51 R2. And I want to overclock my RAM, but there are no such options in BIOS.
PC has i7 4790, H87 chipset and BIOS with Alienware skin, so I can't exactly recognize the BIOS vendor.
But I create short BIOS dump (only BIOS region image) and even tried to mod it myself, so I can say what it is 99% AMI. Uefi bios updater 1.65.3 says it's Aptio 4 and correctly updates modules, AMIBCP 4.53 and MMTool 4.50 can correctly open BIOS image. And even more: in uefi tool i saw strings with "AMI".
So I ask for help. Please, unlock maximum available options.
SMALL.BIN is a original BIOS image.
MOD2.BIN is myself modified BIOS.
What i did in MOD2:
1) unlock some options in AMIBCP, the only one more option of all is shown now
2) replaced setup module with patched one, which should enable hidden pages from formset table, but it doesn't. Nothing changed.
There are all changes.
If you don't understand correctly what i did, tell me.

PS. BIOS version is A10. Latest.

I have tested both it blinks and the flash drive (usb) blinks several times twice screen gets a bit brighter then black happends when the USB blinks. Seems like it cant access the usb. Formated it in fat32. I followed
instruction your text file. Hmm This happens with both files
