Lenovo U410 Bios Recovery

$

I have been trying to get my computer back for a few days now so any help is greatly appreciated.

I originally was trying to upgrade my WiFi card on my Lenovo U410 but because the new card was not supported, I came here in hopes of getting it whitelisted. Because I was running into issues with 65CN15WW bios, I decided to download the latest from Lenovo's site (65cn99ww) and come back for assistance on that. I don't know if it was because I was going from windows 10 to windows 8, but when I flashed the bios, it is now stuck on the boot menu.

Now I am in the process of trying to do a bios recovery. I am not sure if it is the correct tool to be using but I have tried going through the steps with the Phoenix Wincrisis tool but I do not know where to find the .wph file needed for the usb.

I'm not really sure where to go from here. It has been suggested that I buy a programmer, but I want to make sure there isn't something i'm doing wrong before I do that.

Hi,
I am trying to connect an external graphics card to my laptop using a GDP EXC adapter, however it is not detected by the laptop, so I'm guessing that I need the PCIEe whitelist removerd. It uses a InsydeH20 and the bios version is 7ACN89WW, any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Dell pheonix BIOS, precision 690, cpu microcode support

.jpg   cpuid.jpg (Size: 216.53 KB / Downloads: 4) Hello,

Does anyone know of a tool that will find, and or allow me to view and edit the microcode in a Dell/Pheonix BIOS. I have tried several tools including CBRom (all versions including DOS) and nothing seems to work. I have opened the BIOS in several HEX editors and tried to do a little endian search for the microcode but have turned up nothing. I would like to be able to remove all the microcode except for the code being used by the present cpu Xeon X5355 and then add support for the x5470 and x5270 which is the 1067A microcode. I have the latest code from Intel but I would much rather if possible extract the code from another dell BIOS which I already have downloaded. The computer is a dell precision 690, any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Attached two aida screenshots, chipset supported processorssystem BIOSchipsetBIOS to extract 1067A from

AMI BIOS 7.15 for HP Elite 7200 MT - I need to access locked advanced features

Hello

I have HP Elite 7200 MT, Intel core i7 2600 3.4MHz, * GB DDR3 RAM (4 x 2GB), Samsung SSD 850 Pro 1TB, Cougar 1050 watts Gold certified.
Motherboard Pegatron 2AB6 version 1.04
BIOS is AMI 7.15 (latest from HP drivers)
Everything works fine and the on board intel graphic is also working fine.

The problem comes when I attach a ASUS GTX 770 graphics card on my PCIe X16 slot and then when I boot my PC with DVI cable in external graphic card I just see HP splash screen which says press esc to enter setup. If I press esc immediately then i see another black screen with my system info like processor, RAM etc but it hangs there and does not go into BIOS. If I dont press esc immediately  it freezes on the HP splash screen.

I cannot access the advanced features on my bios to change display adaptor to pci, or to disable on board graphic. I cannot see any option to change my bios to UEFI or Legacy or whatever

If I attach the card and connect the cable on the onboard intel graphic card i hear 6 long beeps and no display.

Here are some things which I know for sure:
  1. my PCI slot is 2.0 which is compatible with GTX 770.
  2. My GTX 770 card is absolutely fine, it is working on my friends PC
  3. My PCI slot is also fine as I tried to fool my PC by starting with on board card and then attached the GTX 770 while my windows was up and running. naturally at this point nothing happened, no error or system failure. So I went to device manager and uninstalled all my 8 PCI slots and then running scan hardware changes it recognised the card and installed the correct drivers for GTX 770. So this also shows that the card is working working. But ofcourse even after this point it requests to restart the PC for hard ware change and at restart, i have the same problem as mentioned above.
  4. I have already updated the VBIOS on my GTX770 through my friend's PC
  5. All RAM modules are working and i have already tried removing RAMS and trying with different combinations of RAMS installed..
  6. Since my PC is running super fine without GTX770, I do not see any reason to touch the Processor.
Now I have narrowed it down to BIOS which is just not supporting the card, and I cannot access the advanced features to try different settings, only very basic options are there to play with.

Is there anyway to unlock my full BIOS? or is there anyway to flash a better modded BIOS to achieve the full potential of my PC?

I am very new no BIOS flashing, infact never did it on desktop PC. But I would still wanna try as I am a very curious person.

Best regards
Mohammed Haziq

Manufacturer: Foxconn
Model: ELA
Bios revision:7B8F1P03[/url]
Bios type: AMI
BIOS link
Compressed AcpiTbls.rw attached.

Comments: i've tried modifying the original BIOS myself using AMI_MOD_TOOL_1.54. Used the DELL SLIC, SLP and cert. Tried both SSV2 and SSV3. Every time the application reported being successful in modifying the BIOS. however, after flashing the SLIC-ed version, the BIOS was still not SLIC (SLIC Toolkit V3.2 reports "Dump OK !   (But SLIC OEM ID or Digital Signature Error !)".

Any help/suggestions in making this bios SLIC 2.1 will be highly appreciated.
thanks a lot.

Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q860 BIOS update Invalid Opcode

I was attempting to update the BIOS for my Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q860. I upgraded the processor to the i7-920XM and installed 16gb ofG. Skill RAM, then was having an issue where it would randomly crash after a few minutes in windows 10 or opening a program. I've read that it can happen when the processor attempts to tubo boost with the voltage locked for an i5-430m. I have the Toshiba BIOS version 2.90 and the same setup as the person in this thread here. https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...d-bios-mod

I followed the BIOS update guide on this site using the PH1614 program on a USB DOS boot drive. I also tried Ahmed's guide here and still no dice. https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-H...GINAL-BIOS I renamed the wph file to Bios.wph for ease of use. I am not sure if that might be the problem? I am receiving an Invalid Opcode at 0013 0000 0296 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0100 0000 0000 7F00 00. I thought I bricked my system, but was able to pull the CMOS battery and restart as it was dead and even hitting the power button did nothing. The second time I tried it had no issues restarting. What am I doing wrong?

Flasher program and file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1OGj4...HFLRkdjWjA
Warning, if opened and the sanity ckecks pass (power connected, etc) it immediately reboots into the flasher EFI binary!

Intel FPTw dump ("results.rar"): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1OGj4...09ZY2Y0RUE

The firmware doesn't appear to be RSA protected (it opened in Phoenix Tool and extracted fine, with no "Decrypted" anywhere in the log)!, however the chip is write-protected after boot according to FPTw.

Universal IFR Extractor 0.5 dump (0.6 was down when I tried to download it): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1OGj4...G55RmNFYkU

Recovery key combo: Fn+Esc, no need to remove power first, but the filename is unknown.

I tried to use the variable numbers obtained from IFR, but the shell recommended by Falseclock doesn't work and the one I normally use doesn't have the setup_var function...

Thinkpad T530 Intel Centrino 6300 N Wireless Card

Hi !

I recently bought an Intel 6300-N Centrino Wireless Card. I also have an Intel 7260, but that does not work either because of BIOS white listing.
I own a Thinkpad T530, and to my knowledge the Laptop had this Card as a selectable option.

This is the card:
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/w...-6300.html
However, my BIOS complains about the card not being white listed and wont boot. (I guess because it has no Lenovo FRU Angry )

Now my question is: Is there a way to flash the wireless card so that it identifies as the lenovo one ?
Because flashing my BIOS is not really an option since I don't have a HW Programmer and don't even know which one I would need.

I also have an Intel 7260, but that does not work either because of BIOS white listing.

If anybody can provide some insight on the matter I would be very thankful.  Heart

If anyone can tell me what kind of equipmtment I need, I would be willing to try a BIOS flash! But I just don't know what kind of HW Programmer to get Sad

Bricked Toshiba C55T-A5123 after BIOS downgrade

I received this laptop with BIOS version 1.10. I initially tried flashing 1.50 directly but it failed with a vague error and not much else. So I then decided to go in increments. Flashed 1.30 (worked), then 1.40 (worked), then tried 1.50 again. No dice.

Looking through the options for isflashx64.efi I noticed a -MC option to bypass checks. This let is flash successfully. The weird thing is the BIOS model was the same except there was an A appended to the end. Other than that the BIOS worked perfectly and the computer booted fine. All of these BIOS downloads had my exact product number listed next to them.

This was working but I was getting a ton of ACPI errors in Linux (That I didn't remember seeing on previous BIOS versions) and me not willing to leave well enough alone decided to try and reflash 1.40. I still had the CD I burned with the BIOS on it. Loaded it up, dropped to the EFI shell, and ran

Code:
isflashx64.efi DM10S140.FD -ALL -MC

I ran with -ALL to flash everything and -MC because the BIOS model was changing back (to the version without an A)

It ran through and flashed successfully but now will not boot back up at all. The power will flash for 1 second, waits about 10 seconds, then goes steady for about 5 seconds (HDD spins up on the second flash but screen does not initialize)

I have tried formatting a USB drive as FAT16 and put the 1.50 BIOS on it as BIOS.FD and then pressing Win + B as I plug it in and turn it on (as per the Insyde recovery directions) but nothing ever happens.

So what I'm wondering is: Is there any way to recover this short of taking the laptop apart and trying to flash the chip directly? (If that is even possible)

Here's the link where I got the BIOS downloads. My laptop part number is PSCJEU-01G00Q. http://support.toshiba.com/support/model...=zd247208q

(You have to click "Drivers and updates" and then "BIOS" manually. Can't link directly to it)
