Lenovo G500s Insyde Bios changing serialnumber, boardnumber and productname

Hello friend,

i requested a whitelist-free bios for my lenovo g500s with advanced options a year ago.

After changing a graphic value in bios, i bricked my laptop.

Lenovo support repaired it by changing the mainboard, after that i requested a whitelist-removed bios without advanced options - everything works fine now, but:

The lenovo-support missed to config the information about serialnumber (INVALID), inserted wrong boardnumber and wrong product name.

I have some issus with my touchpad (Windows detects wrong touchpad (Synaptics, but it's definitly from Elan) and found out, it maybe has to do with wrong dmi-infos (often read about same problems after mainboard-change).

My question is, is it possible to edit the dmi-informations about serialnumber etc.?

I found the EZH2O-tool, where i can load my bios backup and edit the DMI-Structure.

Can I correct all Informations in the tool and save the modified bios and flash it?

Will the dmi information in the eeprom get overwrited by flashing the modified bios and my Serialnumber and co. will be ok then?

With best regards

Fox

How to get & perform update for my system

Hello I am new to this forum and looking to better understand how I can upgrade my BIOS so I can install an AC WiFi card in my laptop.  I have found others on this forum who have requested and successfully performed the update to their system which was an exact match to my system but I don't understand how they downloaded the new BIOS and performed the update.  Can anyone help point me in the right direction and let me know where I can download the BIOS update file and how to perform the update.

My System details are as follows:

My laptop is a
Lenovo T420s
Type = 4170-CTO
BIOS version 1.37 8CET57WW
WiFi Card = Intel Cenrino Wireless-N 1000

New Wifi Card
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
Mfg. Part # = 7260.HMWWB.R

Thank you,

HP Pavilion g7 1315 sw - another typical Wireless Card Whitelist issue.

Hi I've searched these and other forums for a solution but unfortunatelly I haven't found a solution/working file link.

My laptop is HP Pavilion G7-1315sw (Running Windows 10 64-bit of course)
http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/self...el/5287815

I bought RALINK RT3090BC4 which is 150mbps, has Bluetooth 3.0 and it's pretty efficient compared to my current REALTEK which I think must be a VERY-low-end Wi-Fi card because it halves my battery life-time when enabled (if only halved..)
I would buy the recommended cards if there were any available in my country ... I don't want to buy online internationally, I hope you get the point.

Two days ago I bought this card so I can use my Bluetooth HeadSet with the laptop. Of course you know what went wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ BIOS whitelist ...
My current BIOS version is F.6A and I'm looking for unlocked [easy way to unlock] wireless card version.
There is a release of sp57396.exe that fits as I suppose, unfortunatelly the link on these forums is dead, at least for me ... This is the list of BIOS information I could gather about my laptop. I hope anything of it helps. I don't know much about flashing BIOS but I learn quickly so there shouldn't be much of a problem in this case ...

Bios Versions:
F43 / sp55442.exe
F44 / sp55668.exe
F46 / sp56404.exe
F52 / sp57396.exe
F53 / sp59792.exe
F.6A / sp62234.exe

ID is 3569 / and as I've read already on a thread with a dead link "...From 3562 to 3569 get Bios 03564F43.bin..." yet I'm not certainly sure if that thread would fit my laptop ... And there was some signature issue mentioned there too.

What might help (or actually might be useless too) is that the card has a sticker on it "Replace with HP spare 602992-001 ; [BARCODE] ; 8K10c0"

If anyone could help me I would be very greatfull. I looked for methods of disabling whitelist check but all of these seemed too complicated for me and I felt like I'm missing some knowledge required to do this. Neither adding the ra-link card would work because no matter how many times I insert the card after powering up the laptop - my OS doesn't see it plugged in and I can't check it's version :/ So I'm pretty much stuck with nothing ...

[REQUEST] Whitelist removal for Lenovo Flex 2 Pro 15

Hi together,

I hope anyone can help me out here:

I have a new Lenovo Flex 2 Pro 15 with a really [censored] network card assembled RTL8723BE. Therefore I replaced the card with an Intel Wireless-AC7260 (7260ngw), which is now already built-in. Unfortunately the bios is not accepting the card due to whitelist :/ even I hoped I ordered one at amazon which was described to work with Lenovo. Therefore I have disabled the wlan in the bios now that the laptop starts in order to write this post.

Current Bios: B9CN19WW.cap https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob...cn19ww.exe
I did also a snapshot with your tool I saw in other posts (BACKUP_Tools12_2.exe) and uploaded to sendspace:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/ia0bds

IDs for the cards:
old RTL8723BE card: Vendor ID 10ec; Device ID b723; Subsys: b73617aa
new and installed Intel AC7260: Vendor ID 8086; Device ID 08B2; Subsys: C27008086

Any help for a whitelist removal would be highly appreciated!

Big thanks in advance

Lenovo Z50-75 - Whitelist Removed

Hi there. I Thought i'd contribute to this repository of BIOS-mods.
So here is a 100% working BIOS for the Lenovo Z50-75 (AMD CPU/APU) with the whitelist removed.
You can use whatever wifi card you want.
Download Link - sendspace
Download Mirror - dropbox

NB. You will need a SPI-programmer, to flash the BIOS to the chip on the mainboard.
I recommend the CH341A programmer with the SOIC8 clips. Both can be purchased cheap on ebay.

Cheers!

[Request] Lenovo Edge E330 Wi-Fi card whitelist removal

Dear all,

I would like to replace the default Wi-Fi card shipped with my Lenovo Edge E300 (exact model is "3354-CTO") in order to have 802.11ac support.
The new Wi-Fi card will be the Intel AC 7260.
The PC is running Windows 10 in 64-bits.

The current UEFI BIOS installed is H3ET75WW (version 1.12) and it seems to include another BIOS H3EC35WW for the ECP (version 1.18).
The official link for downloading the BIOS is: https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc...uj75us.exe
Here is the link for downloading the backup done with "BACKUP_Tools14a.exe": https://www.sendspace.com/file/tdlw7i

The Intel FTP tool is detecting 2 flash devices (one of 4MB and one of 8MB), but only the 4MB flash device was backuped, I don't if this is normal?

Thank you for anuone who can help,
Sebastien

Hey guys,
I know that kasar already made an unlocked BIOS from the A19 BIOS but all the links to download it are down. Sad
Does someone still have the BIOS and is willing to upload it?
Would be extremely nice if somebody would do that for me, because the fan noise is driving me crazy. ^^

Hi!

I has a big problem. I detected a problem on my Mother Board (problems with Hard Drives) and I tried to update BIOS, I think the problems with disks are solved, but now I have new big one.

After BIOS update I can't boot on OS X (I have a hackintosh), so I wanted to downgrade BIOS, but was impossible, I read a lot of tutorials, but the main problem I think it is all are old. When I try to use AFUDOS it say "Error: BIOS does not support AFU." So if I can't use Afudos, what can I use?
My mother board is an Asus P9x79 LE

Thanks in advance!
