After flash my bios with the oficial one, the notebook only shows a black screen. I´ve tried phoenix recovery way but as soon as the recovery usb starts flashing, the notebook restarts and goes nowhere.

If any more info is needed, i can provide. Bellow is the link for the bios it was before the brick.

What else can i possibly do to save the notebook?

According to "Fernando’s Win-RAID Forum -- http://www.win-raid.com/t7f13-AHCI-amp-R...dules.html -- " the best recommended version for the ICH8R to update to is 11.2.0.1527

I have attached this updated Option ROM

Hello,

I would like to update the Intel Matrix Storage Option ROM for this Phoenix BIOS to enable TRIM support in RAID0 for SSD Harddrives.

The current Intel Matrix Storage Option ROM version is 6.1.0.1002 and does not support TRIM.  According to CPU-Z the D901C uses the "P965/G965 Rev C2 Chipset" and it's "Southbridge is the 82801HB/HR (ICH8/R) Rev B0".

"Fernando’s Win-RAID Forum " -- http://www.win-raid.com/t7f13-AHCI-amp-R...dules.html -- " has modded RST RAID ROM modules with TRIM support in RAID0. According to his post the best recommended version for the ICH8R to update to is 11.2.0.1527

I have attached the Latest BIOS and his modified Option ROM.

I have tried to do this update myself using the "CBROM Tool" but it kept on freezing when trying to read the BIOS file. There is also Andy P PhoenixTool I could try but I not sure how to use it.

SOIC8 test clip BIOS recover - need your advice

I would like to help my friend recover his HP laptop, BRICKED after a failed BIOS update! Huh
But my budget was too limited for a soldering equipment and I didn't have such an experience...
So I got $2.5 USB SPI programmer and $4 SOIC8 test clip (from china, aliexpress if you curious)

After 5 long weeks of waiting I finally received this stuff, teardown a friend's laptop,
removed AC power , laptop's power battery , and even small CMOS battery,
and now I am trying to write a working BIOS image to SPI flash chip using a SOIC8 test clip
( this method is known as ISP: In-System-Programming or In-Situ-Programming )

But here is a problem: I could read a dump from this BIOS chip without problems, however
it fails when I am trying to write - so the contents of BIOS flash chip are remaining unchanged!
Tested on different OS and different versions of SPI programmer software, but no success...

Luckily I found out this helpful wiki page - http://flashrom.org/ISP , which describes common problems
with this ISP method of flashing, as well as gives 3 hints for solution! Sadly this page is currently down,
so here is a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/SJEYHR2.png

1. - tried to make shorter wires, less than 10cm as they recommend - it did not help
2. - soldering is out of possibility, cant do it, and also: wires are already short and they are good quality (pure copper)
3. - This hint looks more promising, but I need help in understanding this piece of information
"disconnect Vcc from the programmer and power it with its normal PSU"

If I understand correctly, by Vcc they mean Vcc pin of the BIOS flash chip.
But if I disconnect Vcc from the programmer, what is "normal PSU" which should power this Vcc pin?

Should I connect to motherboard a laptop's power battery, or small CMOS battery, or AC adapter of laptop,
so that this Vcc pin would be powered by them, or it is forbidden to do it while using SPI programmer in the same time?
Or its better to try to power Vcc of flash chip from "USB to TTL" adapter - which has this 3V3 (3.3V) voltage pin?

?

Hello!
I've recently bought a HP 2560p, and not quite happy with the current BIOS.

The first version of BIOS for this machine was F.01, and feature wise it is far more superior than later versions.

The next release i think was F.02, in which ram frequencies were nerfed to 1333Mhz, while the previous version enabled 1600, 1866 and maybe 2133

A few releases later HP nerfed the SATA ports speed to 3Gb/s, from 6Gb/s

I got the machine with F.27, and to gain back 6Gb/s sata support, i downgraded to F.21, but i would also like to utilize the increased memory bandwith that my HyperX 16Gb 2133Mhz kit is capable of. Unfortunately HP does not enable to revert back to F.01, which is very sad. I obtained a copy of that version, so i have the rom i guess.

Also the chipset is capable of RAID 0 (QM67) and this models workstation brother can use it, but in the 2560p only RAID 1 is enabled. I would like to have RAID 0 support too.

For the first problem, the RAM frequency support, maybe an unlocked advanced menu could enable the user to set higher frequencies in a F.02+ BIOS. I guess RAID0 support is possible too, maybe with the change of the RAID ROM?

AFAIK HP uses RSA signed bios since some time, and modifying that is impossible. At least could I flash back some unofficial way the F.01?

But maybe F.01, or F.21 version is not yet RSA protected, and could been modified to unlock advanced & power menus, also changing the RAID ROM?
EDIT: I checked with andys tool, and nor F.01, or F.21 is RSA SIGNED Smile

Could anybody help me with these things?

Here is the official F.01 and F.21 BIOS from HP

Any information or help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

I have Fujitsu a514 laptop. Recently upgraded the HDD with a SanDisk SSD. The SSD is capable of SATA III speeds, but its running in SATA II mod. I believe SATA III is disabled by the bios. Could someone provide an unlocked bios so that I can enable SATA III mode. I checked the motherboard detail, it says Intel lynx point and it supports SATA III. Also Fujitsu manual also confirms its SATA III, but still I'm getting SATA II speeds. Someone please modify the bios to enable this.

Added bios.cap attachment.

Thanks in advance,
Mithun

Hello!

I've recently bought a HP 2560p, and would like to get RAID 0 support, like the brother model (8560w) have with the same chipset. Is this possible with the change of the RAID ROM?

AFAIK HP uses RSA signed bios since some time, and modifying that is impossible, but maybe F.01, or F.21 version is not yet RSA protected, and could been modified?
EDIT: Neither of them are RSA protected.

Could anybody help me with these things?

Here is the official F.01 and F.21 BIOS from HP

was wondering if I might be able to get a working BIOS that would support UEFI.  While I wouldn't mind testing it, if the build ended up bricking my system, there would not have a spare to fall back on, so I would, at the very least, ***NEED*** to be able to run Windows and revert back.

If I could get this however, that would be amazing  Big Grin
