Extremely slow boot times

First off I'm not sure if this is a motherboard issue, BIOS issue or something else. But, I'm leaning more towards a motherboard and would like to see if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this problem.

I have a Lenovo P400 Touch. The main issue is that it takes between 1 and 10 minutes to show the Lenovo Splash Screen when I first power the laptop on. It is usually between 2-3 minutes but sometimes a little shorter and sometimes very long.

I am currently running Windows 10 on this machine. It is a clean install on a GPT partition using UEFI. I have done a complete format of my drive using DBAN and reinstalled Windows 10 to make sure there was no other issues.
Once it gets to the Lenovo splash screen it boots to Windows within seconds like it should and I have no further issues. I have ran full diagnostics using the Lenovo Support Center and did not find any issues.
Something stuck out to me while using Speccy; my motherboard model shows as “INVALID (U3E1)”. Upon searching this on the internet I have noticed that other people have noticed there motherboard model showing as this, but haven’t found a fix. They also did not note the extremely slow boot time.
When using the Novo (recovery button) on my laptop which used to present me with a boot menu to take me to BIOS, Normal Startup, Recovery, etc within seconds also takes 1-9 minutes. I have the most current BIOS for my machine installed and all the drivers are current.

Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this or have any advice? I have attached pictures of all my bios screens and a picture of my machine summary in Speccy.

EDIT: This morning after having the computer shut off all night it reached the Lenovo splash screen in only 8 seconds. Once it booted I shut it back down and turned it on again this time it took over 8 minutes.

Hello everyone,

I'm missing a lot of settings of a VAIO S Series VPCSE290X. For instance, Samsung Magician tells that AHCI mode isn't enabled for the SSD. So, I'm asking for a fully unlocked BIOS for this great laptop.

Need help to enable RAID support using mods/utilities

Hello everyone,

I am not an advanced user and my knowledge in modding is not so good, but I have registered at these forums to seek a method to enable RAID on an xps m1530's PM965 Chipset; my motherboard only offers IDE & AHCI options at BIOS setup, having an ICH8M (not ICH8M-E) I/O Controlller Hub, and this has led me to search for bios modification (?) or some form of utility (?) to enable RAID support.

The end result I am intending to achieve is a BIOS-Raid 0 configuration on 2 x physical SATA HDDs, to be used with Intel's RST Version 10.1.0.1008 as the controller.

Any help or guidance on how to go about this would be much appreciated.

Regards

Here is the link to Lenovo's copy of the BIOS:
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob...cn30ww.exe

The PCI ID of the original wifi card is:
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&CC_0280
(Realtek 8723BE)

Here is my results.rar from Backup_Tools12:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/arf1re

Here is the ROM from Universal BIOS Backup:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/yvl745

I think the mod should be similar to the one for the Z50-70.
I want to install a wifi card on my Lenovo Z40-70 that should be supported, but the bios claims it is unsupported (Intel 3160). Can someone help?

Hello

This workstation is frying and it won't activate the fans at desired speeds in order to cool down. This happens after installing an operating system. I tried speedfan and all but no, I just cannot find a solution other than tossing this awesome notebook to trashcan.

I hope a bios update would help controlling the fans?

[REQUEST] Microcode upgrade for MSI X58 Pro-e (MS-7522) for Xeon Westmere-EP/06C2

Hello!

I ask if somebody could help me with locked uncore multiplier on MSI X58 Pro-e with hex-core Westmere Xeons.
As far I know the latest bios file would still need an microcode update to newer rev (14) to fully work with 06C2 CPUs correctly.

I can provide donor bios with rev 14 support. (Sabertooth x58)
So could someone who has knowledge about these things and how they are done right do me a favor and inject the correct updated microcode to my bios?

Thank you!

hi all.
i've saved from trash an old hp dv7-1060el, so i want to re-use it with a small no profit organization that need a laptop.

pc is good condition but came without wireless card.

i tried to mount an Atheros AR5007 AR5BXB63 Mini PCI-e Wireless Card taken from another dead  laptop but got error 104 "unupported wireless network device detected. system halted. remove device and restart".

i flashed bios but nothing happened: got another error 104

the page in official site for hp dv7-1060el is http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/self...O5O3KA30R1

the original bios (rev F2D) is here:

Need remove BOTH wireless card and bluetooth card whitelists.
The Old card and new card are BOTH wireless and bluetooth combination cards.
BIOS has BOTH wireless and bluetooth whitelists.
It looks like only adding wireless HW ID to whitelist will not affect. But It looks like bluetooth HW ID has to be added to make bluetooth work normally.
MDL Member [fjfc] made a mod of old version, and it works well. I link that above as a reference.

I have a Lenovo G500s notebook.  My device manager says it has the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG WLAN card, and I'd like to upgrade to the Intel Dual Band 7265 with Bluetooth.

I believe the BIOS is the Insyde chip.  It has the ID 7BCN36WW and version number 2.02[b].[/b]

I've seen other posts requesting that the whitelist be removed for this BIOS, but I'm unsure if each image is different based on the new card going in, or anything else.  If someone could send me a BIOS image that is universal, maybe (at least as far as possible)?  That would be greatly appreciated.

If I remember right, I think that's all the information that was needed.  Please let me know if anything els eis needed, and how many limbs I need to sell in order to pay (whoever does this for me) to do it!

Also, is the HP utility I saw on the main page the best utility to use, or will the Lenovo flashing utility work better?  I'm not sure if it would detect a modified BIOS or not.

Thanks,
Chris

[Request] AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Support MS 7283 Motherboard

Hey I have a MS-7283 motherboard running this bios 2NKT32A and I would like to get it to work with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.1GHz (ADV6000IAA5DO) processor I have. The system boots fine with the processor installed but the CPU fan starts ramping up and down with the processor at little to no load, so I think it is just having trouble reading the correct temperatures off the 6000+. It runs trouble free with an Athlon X2 3800+ that is the same wattage and the same heatsink. I'd also be interested in unlocking any options that may be hidden in this bios.

Possible donor bios

Thanks in advance

Big thanks in advance
