Hello,

I would like to have my BIOS unlocked on every level so i could see what is its potential, cause there are some limitation in it related to Nvidia graphic drivers under Linux. I'm using the Legacy support boot settings only.
Also i have searched the forum and i found this tread for already unlocked BIOS which is the same as mine one: https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...enovo-G710 - so, can use that moded bios?

[SOLVED] DELL Latitude E4200 SLIC 2.1

Well, I fixed this problem(?) by myself.

Indeed DELL E4200's bios has a legitimate SLIC 2.1 table already in there, but somehow it does NOT work.
I googled for another 2 hours, and finally got answer from u-2-bu (you know what I mean), under 'unlock dell' title.

All I needed to do was delete and re-insert same 'SERVICE TAG' via DELL BIOS RESET disc (finding it was very hard).

I don't know why, but if somehow bios's service tag was corrupted or broken, SLIC 2.1 table simply disappeares from ACPI table. So after I re-insert same service tag number into the system, SLIC 2.1 table reappeared magically!

So that's why there's no E4200 SLIC 2.1 modded bios file on the net, since original DELL file already has it in it.

Hello there!

I'm looking for DELL E4200's SLIC 2.1 modded bios.

-Manufacturer: DELL
-Motherboard Model: Latitude E4200
-Bios revision: A24
-Bios Type: Phoenix BIOS
-Bios Download Link: http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01530523...200A24.exe

I tried to do this by myself with phoenixtool260, but it didn't work.

Detailed how it didn't work:
- DELL's original bios file seemed to have SLIC 2.1 already in it, but re-flashing it didn't work.
- phoenixtool260 FAILED to modify bios with SSV2 method (as RW-report directs)
-> Cannot replaec MCFG offset if XSDT table present.
- phoenixtool260's Dynamic mod seemed succeeded, but modified BIOS HDR file does not give me SLIC 2.1 table.
-> I flashed bios with ubuntu linux's dellBiosUpdate tool.

- I even tried to mod old bios version A22, but SLIC 2.1 is not present.
-> I post result SLIC_Toolkit_V3.2 screen capture.

So, I'm stuck and out of option.

Could somebody help me?

[HELP] Accidentally open Advanced Option in original BIOS(Lenovo G460)

In evening, i surprised. Because i open bios setup as usually (F2). but, my finger press another key. Accidentaly, Advanced Option and Debug menu in my bios is displayed.

Actually, my Lenovo G460 still original bios, i haven't flashing the mod bios before.

The problem today:

I FORGOT THE KEY COMBINATION TO ENTER ADVANCED MENU IN BIOS AGAIN!

i cant remember what i press before Sad (like some combination of f2 and ???)

so, i cant open the advanced tab again Sad

I have tried these combinations:

F2+A, no luck
F10+A, no luck

Please, can someone give me the correct key combination to display advanced menu in my bios? this really happened to me. Im very curious... and my bios still original...

Edit:
For the experts I found in the extracted
ROM.CAB->Rom.bin
on adress 0x2AADE4 the hex values of the PCI IDs: 86 80 85 00 86 80 11 13 of the working WLAN card (VEN_8086&DEV_0085&SUBSYS_13118086). In this area there are the several FCC IDs in ACII and after them there are the PCI IDs in hex.
I'm not sure if one of them can be patched for my new one (VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_40708086) and if this is the correct place to patch.
Of course it would be better to patch it general to allow all cards.
I guess a checksums must be updated to generate a new ROM.CAB file for flashing. Bu I do not know how to do.

Hello guys,

Since I upgraded my laptop with W10, I have issue with WIFI (3945ABG is incompatible with W10).
I have check the existing sp37159 from the On site Repository for whitelisted bios but it doesn't work.
Could you please remove the WIFI whitelist?

Hello,

I have a Lenovo U310 Touch with the 65CN99WW BIOS installed. I have purchased and would like to install an Intel Wireless-AC 7260 card (7260HMW).

I downloaded and ran both the BACKUP_Tools12 and Universal Bios Backup executables, but only the BACKUP_Tools12 ran successfully.

ECS P67h2-a3 v1.0 need full 4MB bios rom

Hello bios modders, 

I'm trying to find a 4MB bios rom for the ECS P67h2-a3 v1.0 motherboard. The rom on the ECS website is only 2.5 MB and doesn't work by itself.

The story: I stupidly tried to flash from within W10 x64, the result was no post.
Reading through various online sources, I succeeded in making a cable for the SPI header and using SPIPGM I made a bios backup. Unfortunately I didn't verify it, so I don't know if it's good or not. I erased the chip and copied the 2.5 MB rom to it, but this results in power on/off forever. With the failed bios upgrade at least the power/fans stayed on.

Hopefully someone has this (rare) board, and is willing to make a backup of the rom, please!

I just bought an Intel i7 2860QM to upgrade my laptop, but I found the BIOS only allows 2 working cores (4 threads). Would it be possible to modify it so I can get the 4 cores and 8 threads?
