[REQUEST] HP Mini 210-2000 - Whitelist removal

Hi All,

I've spent hours trying to modify the BIOS for this machine using the official method (from https://www.bios-mods.com/wiki/How_to_Remove_Whitelist_From_1MB_Insyde_BIOS ), however after trying to use several versions of the Ezh2o tool I had to give up since none of them would open the BIOS file.

Is there anybody who is capable of unwhitelisting that BIOS?

Manufacturer and Model: HP Mini 210-2000
BIOS revision: Insyde, F.24
BIOS link: http://h30639.www3.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55494.exe

If needed, screenshots of the system overview in the BIOS can be attached.

There's not a single unwhitelisted version of this BIOS on the net; I found one single link from 3 years ago, however the sendfile container didn't exist anymore.

It's a nice machine that's being used daily - and now, in order to extend its life, there's a modern wi-fi adapter lying around, just waiting to get used with that machine.

If somebody manages to do this, this would be like x-mas and and easter (umm?) at once. I'm gonna send a manually signed postcard including x-mas present to whoever manages to unwhitelist this (no joke, you have my word!).

Thanks a lot,
Haggi

Include SATA Option ROM in ThinkPad X201 BIOS

Hi Guys,

I have a ThinkPad X201 running the latest BIOS version (1.40-1.15/1.15, get it here: http://lnv.gy/1FsQmI2).
In the mPCIe slot I installed a SuperTalent CoreStore Plus SSD, featuring an ASMedia ASM1061 SATA controller which, according to ASMedia, has "Option Rom support through 64K Byte SPI flash".

Is there any chance to get the BIOS to load the SATA Option ROM instead of, let's say, the LAN PXE Option ROM?

Update:
The Option ROM files for the ASM1061 can be found HERE. In that thread, the OP states that
Quote:It is possible to successfully insert the ASMedia AHCI ROM module even into a BIOS, where no such ROM module is present.
My controller is a DEV_0612 one.

Update 2:
Someone has already done a WiFi/WWAN whitelist mod on the same BIOS over HERE.
The modded version comes as a .ROM file and should be somewhat easier to edit than the original Lenovo files.

Acer E1-572 SLIC mods from this forum not working...

Hello,
I have downloaded three SLIC 2.1 bios mods from this forum to activate an E1-572 on Windows 7. With each mod i've followed the instructions correctly.

1. Flash original BIOS
2. Boot from DOS USB Stick, run prr.exe
3. Run Flash.bat

Each time, the flash is 100% successful. No errors at all.

BUT... When i boot Windows 7 and run SLIC Toolkit, there is no SLIC table at all. It says "RSD PTR Not Found!"

This happens with three modified BIOS's from three members of this forum. What am i doing wrong???

Thanks,
James.

I followed the instructions listed by The Wiz to flash the bios. Whenever I process the command to perform the flash, it says that the file does not have the correct file number. The board is Rev 1.08, and it currently has a Athlon single core, I am attempting to upgrade it to either a phenom x4, or phenom ii x4. If you need any more info, let me know.

Help unlocking Samsung NP355V4C/NP356V4C/NP3445VC/NP3545VC

Hi everybody!

I have a Samsung NP355V4C laptop.
This laptop has AMD A10-4600m APU, with a 7660G graphics core (iGPU).
It also has an AMD Radeon 7670M dGPU with 1024 MB of GDDR3 memory.

The laptop allows me to run Dual Graphics, however, the iGPU is limited to 512 MB of RAM max (UMA buffer).
I am trying to mod the BIOS to set the iGPU's memory to 1024MB.

I have copied the BIOS with AMIFLASH, and tried modifying it.
My changes were loaded, for example, I was able to find and change the strings that seemed to control the amount of iGPU memory - now the BIOS shows 3 options as 256/512/1024MB, rather than 128/256/512 as before.

But, even though I have the 1024MB option selected, the iGPU still shows up as 512 MB, and I confirm this with the Task Manager that shows that I have 7642 MB of memory available (8192 is what is installed, I was hoping to see 7168MB).

In fact, it appears that the name of the option is the only thing I was able to change, despite marking many other options as "USER"...

Please explain if there are any steps I am missing or not doing etc.

Thanks!

Once I get something going, I will post the file up here.

I can post the original BIOS dump and what I have if needed, but they are 4MB each.

Hello,

I've been searching in vain for a modded BIOS for a family member's HP G62t-300.

I need to be able to adjust the RAM timings as HP apparently runs the stock ram at different settings than the new memory (same type/clocks but higher capacity).

Board model is 1484

HP link is http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52604.exe

There are several BIOS versions for this machine so any of them are fine with me.

Thanks for your time.

Hello!

I have been searching a method to unlock the advanced tab in my Acer E5-572G-732J BIOS for a week, since I really need VT-X, but I didn't find anything to solve my problem. I think I have to mention that my BIOS is InsydeH20 v1.02, Rev. 3.7. Can anyone please help me?

I saw on other treads that I need to upload the results from BACKUP_Tools, so here they are:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/o8nvtt

Also, here is the BIOS I have extracted with Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0 (There is no BIOS for my laptop on Acer site):
https://www.sendspace.com/file/qdotdc

Thank you!
