[Solved] Bios Mod Thinkpad X250 - Disable 0251 CMOS Error

Hello everyone!

I have a Thinkpad X250 with a modded BIOS including advanced BIOS menu and CFG bit unlocked. It is running macOS Monterey and everything works (almost) perfectly, there is a strange problem with Hibernation which I can't figure where it comes from.

The thing is when I put the laptop into Hibernation, it shuts down well and resume perfectly when I turn it on again, but on the next boot it throws me this error "0251: System CMOS Checksum bad - Default configuration used". I've litteraly tried everything on macOS/OpenCore side with HibernationFixup, RTCMemoryFixup, by targetting the RTC offsets which shouldn't be written but it seem that it doesn't changes anything. The problem is not present with Linux/Windows and macOS when I use Standby S3 sleep.

So my new idea is to see if it is possible to mod the BIOS to disable warnings related to this CMOS error, the UEFI module in question is named "DxeCmosInit".

Does anyone has any idea how to do this? The BIOS file is attached to this post. Or alternatively do you think it's possible to just remove the DxeCmosInit module from the BIOS, will it work?

hello everyone i have a hp t520 thin client and I want to turn it into a pfsense router but it only have one ethernet port so I bought a mini pcie ethernet so i can have two ethernet port but the problem is that when I have this mini pcie ethernet the thin client briefly shows the hp logo then turns off and it turns on again in a cycle but when I plug in a mini pcie wifi adapter it boots fine and when it is on windows i can remove the wifi card and insert the ethernet adapter to the mini pcie port and it works but when I try to restart it it gets stuck in a bootloop again. I also bought a different mini pcie ethernet adapter but it still does the same boot loop I also tested both ethernet adapter on my laptop and both works so I think that the hp thin client have a whitelist. I tried removing the whitelist myself but I couldn't I already wasted 1 month doing this and I also have a bios programmer so I can easily test your bios and can recover it if it gets bricked. 

I will try to test and give feedback as soon as possible.

Hi, I have a Gigabyte Aorus 5 KB that I'd like unlocked

Specs:
Intel i7-10750H
32G ram
Nvidia RTX 2060
Bios version: FB06
EC version: F004

(the above bios is packed in an .exe but can be extracted with 7-zip it seems)

(If you need the bios dump from my laptop directly, I may need assistance or a link to a tool to extract it)

The options I would like unlocked are XMP (or any applicable ram settings that exist in the hidden menus) as well as cpu overclocking options unlocked (I would like to be able to undervolt, as even with thermal grizzly thermal paste and pads, the cpu gets to 100c at times while gaming, even with 100% fan curve)

Beyond that, anything else that could be unlocked in the menus would be an awesome bonus

If there's any additional information needed, please let me know what I can do, and thank you for any help that can be provided

GIGABYTE GA-G41MT-S2PT & Xeon E5450

I seem to have the same problem with my mainboard GA-G41MT-S2PT and the Xeon e5450 processor.
I tried flashing several BIOS-es found with Xeon E5450 microcode - nothing worked.
HWinfo says the microcode update revision is A0B.
Some time ago I set the processor to 75% minimum from its 3.0 GHz frequency.
But I don't play games or compress videos - I need a processor capable of changing it's speed.

Any fixes..?

It came from Terra computer but it doesn't support 7 generation CPUs.

Unlock Bios Aorus 15 YC

Hello, my aorus 15 (yc) laptop overheats quickly and I want to lower the frequencies but like all aorus laptops, the bios is locked, I have zero knowledge of bios modification and I am afraid of touching something and it will break, so I am asking for your help.
I managed to get the rom from the aorus download page, which was inside the laptop's bios updater
I attach it, I would like you to explain to me how I modify it, or help me modify it and explain to me how I install it.

I'm still not sure if the rom inside the exe of updating the bios on the Aorus page is okay.

Hi guys,

I just bought a brand new Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 16IMH9, this uses the new Intel Ultra 9 185H CPU which cannot be undervolted via BIOS or via tools like ThrottleStop.

I want to be able to undervolt it so I will need a modded BIOS.

I am currently using the latest BIOS NKCN26WW from Lenovo:

SOP 8 to SOP 16 conversion for BIOS programming with CH341a programmer

Hi,
I'm trying to save my bricked ASRock x470 Taichi motherboard. After a bios update it unfortunately doesn't boot anymore. Hence, I'm trying to program it with an CH341a programmer (MiniProgrammer). The bios chip on board is a 16 PIN, 1.8V Macronix MX25U25645GMI00 chip.

I have used the black version of the the programmer with a 1.8v converter (to reduce it from 5v) in combination with ASProgrammer (Windows) and IMSProg (Linux) tool. With both I was able to read out some 8 PIN chips with an SOP 8 testing clip.

Now I'm wondering how I can convert the 8 PINs from the programmer to attach it to the 16 PIN bios chip. I have a SOP 16 testing clip. Based on my research the PIN conversation should look as following:

8 PIN CH341 programmer -> 16 PIN SOP Testing Clip
1 -> 7 (CS)
2 -> 8 (MISO)
3 -> 9 (WP)
4 -> 10 (VSS)
5 -> 15 (MOSI)
6 -> 16 (SCK)
7 -> 1 (HOLD)
8 -> 2 (VCC)

I tried to do the conversion with with DuPont cables, but wasn't able to get any results. I'm aware that the SOP testing clips can be very finicky to attach, but at this point I'd still try to avoid soldering.

Does this PIN conversion look right?
