Fitting BIOS of Akoya P8610 to Akoya P8612

Hi to all,

my problem is as follows:

I own a Medion laptop model Akoya P8612. It has a NVIDIA 9100M G chipset (MCP79) and uses hybrid SLI with a GT230M.
Acouple of month ago I believed there was a BIOS update released which I flashed. Unfortunately it was for the previous model Akoya P8610 with a 9600 GS for hybrid SLI. Never the less the machine is still working but not the second graphics adapter of course.
I tried to get the original BIOS in different forums and also contacted the manufacturer because they don't offer the original release for download.
But I did not have success (they wanted me to send the machine and pay about 150 € for servicing).
Now I found out that I can open and modificate the 8610 BIOS file with Phoenix BIOS Editor. I found the secondary graphics adapters BIOS as an optional ROM inside the BIOS. From Techpowerup I got a BIOS for a GT240M (GT230M was not to find) and replaced it with the 9600 GS BIOS but still the card won't work.
I think there are some other points to change but I'm lost where or what to look for as I don't know much about Phoenix BIOS and this tool.

Does anybody have an idea or some know how to share?
Any answer would be highly appreciated

After bios update sata gen 3 option disappeared (samsung np300e5xs01IN) (BIOS p07RAC)

After I updated my bios from p04rac to p07rac, Sata gen 3 option disappeared. Now my samsung 840 evossd is working in sata gen 2 mode rather than gen 3. Is there any method to enable sata 3? Please help.

I got this board to work after a long timeout with the stock BIOS it came with, but updated it and now it won't POST with this chip at all. Before it had a bunch of microcode errors in the log. I tried downgrading the BIOS to the earliest version available, but it still won't POST with the ES CPU. I think Intel locked it out, and the original BIOS version that the board shipped with is nowhere to be found.

Dell XPS 8500

I am getting ready to do some house cleaning. I was going to do a restore on this system but just for kicks I was thinking I might want to upgrade to win 7 ultimate or at least pro. I ran rw everything on here and there is a slic tab that says ver 2.1. I have a installation dvd that installs the certs and all silently during install and will let me pick the version of win 7 I want but I think it is just for 32 bit and not 64. I am thinking that even if the dvd I have will do 64 bit, it just seems a little to easy for this to work just doing a reinstall from this dvd.

I would like to ask for any advice you may have on how to make this work. And any links I may need for like a 64 bit install for win 7 or what ever you may think of. I am kind of waiting to see what the consensus is here before I do anything.

I have attached an image of what my BIOS currently looks like.

What I am wanting is advanced settings. I need to be able to change my HDD compatibility (AHCI to IDE) so that I can successfully install winxp on my machine.

Currently I can enter pre-setup but I get BSOD. I just need my BIOS unlocked so I can access my advanced options.

Hello,

A week a go i bought a Wi-Fi / Bluetooth Card for my Lenovo G505, but for my surprise i found the "Unsupported wireless card" message. I tried to mod the BIOS myself, but when i try to flash it, it says "Invalid firmware image" error.

Here are the BIOS files:

Please, tell me how to bypass, the "Invalid firmware image" error & tell me if i modded my BIOS correctly.

And if i did wrong, please upload the right modded BIOS.

I would like to unlock fan control in my bios, because the laptop is running rather hot and speedfan can't access it. If at all possible I would like to also see if it is possible to get nvidia optimus running since compal says it supports it but have never managed to get it running, but this would really be a bonus.

[Request] Lenovo Thinkstation D30 BIOS

Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Thinkstation D30 system with the AMI UEFI BIOS (X79/C602 chipset). I've managed to unhide all the hidden options with the AMI tools (ez) and update my OROMS to the latest version but I was wondering if it was possible to get XTU and overclocking options in this BIOS. I've read that it's possible with a change to the Intel Management Engine firmware, but I can't seem to update mine. I always get this error when I try to flash or save a backup with fptw64.exe:

I have a Dell 755 USFF - I'm running the A22 BIOS found here -

I'd like help to remove the CPU limitation on running Quad core chips.

The reason they've added this limitation is due to the smaller Power Supply Unit they provided on the USFF.

Can someone help?

Hello, I am requesting a bios unlock for a insydeh20 f.49 bios. I am just asking if you can unlock ahci mode and some more advanced settings. Ill have the bios dump linked on here. I really need this unlocked quickly. Ill pay if needed. Its an HP pavilion g6-1b60us with an insydeh2o bios. I dont know if it is unlockable or not. However, if you can try, that would be great.

Convert boot logo to some normal image format?

I have the logo files extracted and want to convert them to a format I can open in Photoshop. I do not want to alter them in the BIOS.

There are files named LOGO0.BIN through LOGO5.BIN with #3 being likely the most likely suspect since it's 70K. #1 is 32K and #4 is 39K.

Open in notepad, all but #3 start with SCN0 through 5, matching the number in the file name. Shortly after there is the word ICON. #3 doesn't have ICON in it either.

In some of them, if I size the notepad window right, I can sort of make out MPC in the text characters.
