[REQUEST] Acer Aspire V5-552-X814

Hello. I am looking into unlocking some features in the BIOS on my laptop. I did a bit of digging, and it looks like a simple hex edit should unlock the BIOS, but I am unable to determine what values I need to change. I am basically wanting to increase the dedicated video memory for my laptop. After looking, similar V5 laptops, after modifying the BIOS, are able to change this option. It should be in the hidden menus. I am just unable to determine what values I need to change. Or I could be completely mistaken, which could very well be the case.

Not sure how I can extract the BIOS image from the exe. I opened it in 7zip, and it doesn't have an obvious image file. Looks like it polls a server and pulls the image from Acer's servers. To be honest, I am completely lost. I have never modified any form of BIOS in my life. If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it. And of course, donation and everything.

gx270 install win 8 problems

Hello!

I have a Dell optiplex gx270 tower pc.
And I want to install win 8.
I insert te disk, the win logo apears for 2 mins and then i get the 0x0000000a error code. Found out it has to do something with vt-x not enabled.
Tried this: http://www.ehow.com/how_7649523_unlock-v...essor.html

And I don't have this option. I read that the cpu supports it, just that there is no option because the bios is 2007 last version...

Any ideas?

M2N68-LA Narra2-GL8E motherboard

Hi all,

I want to replace my seemingly malfunctioning motherboard - M2N68-LA Narra2-GL8E - but I can't seem to be able to find exactly the same one.
What I noticed is the "Narra" increase (Narra 2,3,4 etc), I assume that's a revision???
My question is which motherboard should I get that would be compatible with the rest of my system? I've been researching for hours and can't find an answer. You guys are the first I found that seem to have substantial knowledge in these matters.

Thanks in advance.

Requesting for SLIC 2.1

I have never done this before so I hope I did it correctly.
I have used a flash drive to mod bios on a couple of computers before
I was lucky enough to find already done. That is the extent of my experience.
I have not upgraded the bios to the version the link refers to yet.

Thank you for your time.

Enabled Intel Menu, but PhoenixTool says file is "4 byte too long."

Hello, I have an R0070J4 BIOS and want to enable the hidden Intel menu. I have backed up my BIOS properly (Universal BIOS Backup) and added compatible platform data from an official R0030J4 BIOS update. I am having issues repacking the BIOS (I am using PhoenixTool to unpack/repack the BIOS and am only modifying TEMPLAT0.ROM (with HxD), I am NOT applying any SLIC mods, etc.). The file size of TEMPLAT0.ROM is 35072 Bytes before and after I add the Intel menu in HxD, but the PhoenixTool says the file size (of TEMPLAT0.ROM) is "4 bytes too long" . Is there any way I could fix this without disabling the "Preserve Module Size" option (which results in a success + more modifications (byte by byte compare) than I made)? Also, can I get someone more experienced than I am in BIOS modding to add the Intel menu to this BIOS image? I want to compare your work with mine to see if I am doing this right (so far, I have been emulating the BIOS in PBE). I removed the "Multi-Processing" option (Intel menu contains this option as well, so no loss) in the advanced menu to make more room to add the Intel menu without changing the file size (Core Multi-Processing Jump Table Offset for Advanced Menu: hex search in TEMPLAT0.ROM: 530D , offset 0x02A6).

R0070J4 (Intel Menu Mod) [modified w/ Intel Menu, PhoenixTool to Extract/Repack and HxD to hex edit, made from above file, I bypassed "4 bytes too long" error by disabling "preserve module size" option which resulted in more mods (hex compare) than I made but worked when tested in the PBE emulator (full Intel Menu!), the TEMPLAT0.ROM file was the same size before and after modification (bit-size compare), mod performed so it would not mess up rest of the file]

NOTE: I do NOT want to perform any SLIC mods, I do not need any cracking software (I have Genuine Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit). After this small issue is fixed and I confirm that my tested-working BIOS can be flashed with CRISIS using my USB Floppy Drive, I can test this BIOS. If any more information is needed, please ask. Any help or info that could help me would be very highly appreciated!
