Asus P5GC-TVM/S: Quad Core Support

I have an Asus P5GC-TVM/S motherboard, which does not have official support from the manufacturer, I have tried to search for information on the net regarding it and I find almost nothing. I would like to know which is the best processor that can support and if it is possible to put a Q6600 or Q6700.

It included the backup of the BIOS of the board that I took out with the universal bios backup tool. I've seen similar models that support a Core 2 Duo E7600 or even an E8600, but I don't know if it supports Quad Cores. It currently works with a Pentium Dual Core 1240.

[REQUEST] Lenovo IdeaPad S145 14IWL/15IWL WLAN Whitelist & Cfg-Lock (Hidden Menus)

Hello to all board members, this is my request for a BIOS hack for the Lenovo laptop BIOS that covers the following models: IdeaPad S145-14IWL, S145-15IWL, V14-IWL, V15-IWL as they use a common file from Lenovo.

Download (Windows 10 x64) of version ASCN48WW = https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob...cn48ww.exe

First of all, I would like to kindly request a Wireless unlock for being able to use other WLAN cards. For some reason, despite having purchased a Lenovo-part Broadcom BCM4350 card (NGFF) [14e4:43a3] (DW1820A) (Lenovo FRU reference 00JT494) that was seemingly accepted with a previous BIOS version few months ago, after doing yesterday a "Load Optimised Defaults" with this latest BIOS, it seems the card is blacklisted; not in Windows 10 nor in macOS can I enable it. The BIOS mentioned here was updated in July...

Moreover, I would like to request to be able to either access the hidden Advanced BIOS settings so I can unlock the CPU MSR 0xE2 register, or unlock the CPU via some BIOS settings hack on the BIOS file itself.

I had found that on some other Lenovo model there's supposed to be a hidden keyboard sequence that would allow access to this secret hidden BIOS menu but it is not working on this Lenovo S145-14iWL of mine: https://github.com/daliansky/Lenovo-Air1.../ReadMe.md

I would enormously appreciate if a kind experienced soul could unpack the Lenovo BIOS update executable, and possibly disable the whitelisting as well as enabling permanently the BIOS advanced pages.

Thank you in advance. Stay safe.

Can you open the advanced settings?

If there is a whitelist issue, can you handle that as well?

Original bios backed up. Can you tell me how to restore it if I run into a problem?

I saw transactions on the forum. Can I restore with this process like Win Logo + B?

How can I upload the modified bios file to the system?

Thank you. Smile

[REQUEST] Custom logo problem for Aptio BIOS

Good day.
Please, help me to solve the problem.
Board: X555LB (Notebook)
CPU: I5-5200U
BIOS: Aptio
https://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/X55...BAS605.zip

I have tried to use ChangeLogo_v5 and UEFITool, both can change successfully and flash successfully.

Question is logo display in half screen, I moddify origional splash logo file and add a box on logo, and I use pencil draw a line on my screen to ensure where the picture show. And it seems start from same position. I try different resolution finally ensure the largest resolution it can display is 1024x461, more than this resolution will display a black screen.

I guess BIOS support maxium 1024x768 splash screen, but for some reasons it starts to display logo from half. I don't know how to move forward the picture about 307 pixels to get a full screen logo show.

Maybe someone know how to fix it?

I have a ch341a so it's OK to try dangerous bios.

Thanks.

vBIOS modding, max frequency lock.

I have a mobile 1650 GDDR6 and the max frequency seems to be locked at 1785MHz, increasing core clock in MSI-Afterburner does not allow the system to bypass this lock.

The specific reason i want this is because the GPU manages to stay under 60C on benchmark loads (when undervolted) and using only 42-45W

vBIOS dump made with SPI-programmer : http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil...5374352730

i have looked through the dump myself but can't find exactly where this max frequency value is stored, hope an experienced member can do so.

I have a old HP notebook the back says that it’s an HP 14 so I would imagine it’s a Pavillion 14. It has a AMD E2-7710 APU with Radeon R2 graphics and the BIOS is a Insyde H20 Rev 5. I’m very new to all of this and am using Linux so let me know what you need and I’ll get it.
I also don’t mind helping with editing the BIOS as I kind of want to learn how editing it works and all of that
I’ve included a picture of my BIOS screen below
Also if the formatting is bad sorry I’m on my phone[Image: 0cc0fd368875c66cc557e4e5e3ef4965.jpg]

Upgrade RAM and CPU

Hi, I have a doubt and I would like to ask you, knowing that you are bios modding experts. I have the option to buy a nice laptop, the problem is that it has both the processor and the RAM soldered.

This computer was sold with two different processors: one with the I5-6200U and the other with the I7-6500U. Would it be possible to upgrade to the I7-6560U? Same processor family, same TDP, same socket (FCBGA1356), same chipset, same RAM, all the same except the GPU, which in the i7-6560u is an Iris 540 instead of the HD520. There are other laptops such as the DeLL Inspiron 7368 and 7569 which were sold with both the I5-6200U, the I7-6500U, and the I7-6560U. If I changed processor would it work directly or would I have to change the bios?
Same with RAM, the laptop has 8GB in dual channel, each channel has 2 modules of 2GB each. The RAM is of the LPDDR3 type, so it is soldered and there are no free slots. The ram socket is of type BGA178. The processors and the chipset support up to 32GB of ram, if I upgraded the ram with modules of 8GB each, then 16GB per channel for a total of 32GB would work directly or should I change the bios?
Soldering and unsoldering processor and ram is not a problem for me. I know how to do it and I have the right tools, I just wanted to know if it is feasible without modifying the bios or not. I don't think they put any blocks in the bios to prevent someone from changing the ram and cpu, after all they are soldered. But I have no idea how a bios works and I could be wrong, so I ask you. Thanks in advance.
