Hi
         i'm using a Samsung 305E5A laptop
My problem is about my graphic card's there are 2 GPU in that laptop, one of them is AMD Radeon HD 6520G (Sumo) and the other one is AMD Radeon HD 6470M i've tryed almost everything written in Web including AMD website,  tryed many many different drivers but i could not activate my AMD Radeon HD 6470M GPU. in device manager both of them are loaded and updated there is no problem with both GPU's, in aida64 Windows Display section Shows 6520G (twice) , Gpu section shows both plus ATI Crossfire. But the 6470M never goes on (i've formated that computer like 30+ times with different windows variations, cuz as i said i've tryed everything that i could find in web and lots of em was from 3th.Party sites.)

Anyway i want that bios'es unlucked version to check if there is an option to make that 6470M Gpu to select as primary.iF any of you have any other suggestion about that situation i'm ready to try.

Mainboard : Samsung 305E4A/305E5A/305E7A
Bios Type ; AMI UEFI

BIOS ver. 04QR.ME30.20121101.SKK
AGESA ver. LlanoPI V1.0.0.8
SMBIOS Ver. 2.7
System BIOS date 11/01/2012

Thank you.

How do I read supported CPUs from BIOS microcode?

$

I have an MSI x58 Platinum SLI.  I can access the newest MSI BIOS for this board using MMTool.  Under the "CPU Patch" tab, I see 12 entries with CPU ID ranging from 06A0 to 06C2 with several repeated with differing revision levels.

The CPUID codes do not seem to pertain to any CPU code and stepping as far as I can tell..

I want to see if the BIOS had the microcode for, for example) the Xeon W3690

How can I find out what all of the supported CPUs are from the BIOS ROM file?

Asrock H97 killer, is it hopeless if there's no BCLK options found in AMIBCP?

I want to overclock bclk, but it isn't available in the bios, so I tried using AMIBCP, but it isn't even a hidden option, it's no where to be found, is there no other easy way to do it?
In the user manual it shows that it had a BCLK/PCIE Frequency setting in the bios version L0.26, but I don't think it had ever been released to public, can't find it on it's product page or google.
extra question, what happen if I change dram frequency over 1600MHz in AMIBCP on my 1600MHz locked board? is it dangerous or it won't do anything?
It doesn't look like there's anything interesting I can unlock in my bios from AMIBCP.

Aopen Digital Engine DE65-HA Borked--needs help!

First post for quite some time--not sure if this is the best place to ask questions?

I semi-bricked an Aopen Digital Engine DE65-HA.

It has an AMI eufi bios. What I get is drive seek (on Dvd) or USB--but black screen and no boot. I have tried working with the AMI recovery procedure using a USB stick, and although it enumerates it on first boot, it does not seem to go back to flash drive and do anything

Coincidentally, while I was banging around the interwebs, I found at least one other person did this--like me, he also flashed with the bios for the DE65-HAI (which I now know has differences in configuration--including support for Intel ME 8.x which is why I was messing around with it--Aopen has not patched any of their older bioses.

From this post, I see this other person was skilled enough to remove the bios for reprogramming--and was able to edit a file provided for another (similar) AOpen machine. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/need-bios-to-aopen-mp67-d.35286/

One option--remove the physical bios chip and reprogram which seems beyond my ability. (No bios backup--working when you are tired is always a bad idea!)

Second option seems to be using the clip style reader with CH341A software. Questions:

Are there better or worse sellers of these devices on eBay?

If I purchase and get the corrupted bios read and dumped, is it possible to have someone walk me through compiling a working bios?

Is there any way to implement the newer version of the Intel Management engine found on the incorrect bios, so that it would be workable on my machine?

(The latest correct bios (v. 1.03) is still available for download, although it is not the complete bios, if the other person who made this mistake was correct.)

Thanks,
Dean (I was here before as paredown--but lost my password and couldn't figure out what email it was tied to...)

MSI X58 Platinum SLI BIOS, what CPU are supported

$

I have an MSI x58 Platinum SLI motherboard which I am hoping to update to a Xeon W36xx (right now I have a W3670 available).  Currently it is running an i7-920 at stock speed with 24 gig RAM and MSI bios 3.9 (the most modern one available from MSI).

I have not yet tested it with the Xeon, but I will do so tomorrow.  The BIOS update info suggests that they added Gulftown processor support prior to the v3.9 bios.  But I suspect it may be only for the 980x, 990x family, and maybe not the Xeon versions of those cpus.  I am not sure what will happen if the CPU is not recognized by the BIOS.

Do I need a modded bios for the W36xx series of xeon cpus?  If yes, is there one already made that has support for the w36xx series or even more modern LGA1366 Xeon CPUs?  Where would I find it?

If the W3670 works well, then I may look for a good price on an unlocked W3680/W3690, or maybe a later CPU as long as I can be pretty sure it will function properly on the mobo.

ASUS MB - How to Flash Mod'd Bios

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here so I hope this is in the correct section.   I'm also new to BIOS mod'ing.

So here's my project - I'm trying to modify the BIOS of my Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe to support NVME booting.   I've used the MM tool to modify the BIOS based on some other reading on the internet.   But I get  a Security Verification error when trying to load the modified BIOS using the Asus Easy Flash utility.

So I think I need to use some sort of alternate flashing utility/tool.    Or I've read about flashing the BIOS using a bootable DOS TD.   Any guidance would be appreciated before I dive deeper into this project.

Thanks ! Chris

Lenovo B590 variants

I'm confused. I have Lenovo B590 which now has bios version H1ET85WW(1.23) and 20208 would be the most likely version according to other users who also have this bios version . However if I enter my serial number at Lenovo website it proposes H9ET92WW as latest bios update. This does not work when updating and throws an error.

My laptop has Core i5-3230M and HM77 chipset and already updated ME FW version 8.1.72.3002 . But planning to disable/remove it when getting more at ease with bios modifying.

What does H9ET92WW.exe check ? Is it slic code ? So that only devices with TP-H9 slic code get this update ? CPU-Z shows laptop as being version 62742BG . I understand there are also 20206 and 20208 versions....

I'm also trying to remove whitelist. I extracted body with uefitool. Can someone tell me what language this is in so I can read up on the syntax and understand the subroutines and functions. I found it at
jmp     short loc_B39 => mov     r8, cs:off_258  ; "1802: Unauthorized network card is plug"...
But how to change so it jumps over whitelist check ?
Trying to figure it out for myself instead of having to ask people. I would be glad to learn something new Cool

How can I flash H9ET92WW ? End goal is: keep w8 key from MSDM table and slic 2.1 and remove whitelist.
Slic should be no problem as marker tool fl2.exe should write it again according to TP-H1.DAT file ?

Thank you for pointing in the right direction Shy

Hello.
i have an AMI aptio 4 bios, downloaded the afu files for aptio 4 from 2 sources (bios-mods and AMI site) used them both several times incase i'm doing something wrong but nothing changed.

i've got my backup with AfuWin
edited that With AMIBcp and saved
Loaded with AfuDos/AfuWin both

Everything is fine every step is succeded but the bios never runs as i edited

AfuDos didnt go for any notice or fail gone all the way read-erased-programed-verified / after restart nothing has changed in bios (:

Tryed same file with AfuWin everything is perfect no problem no notice nothing than - restart and nothing changed again (:

dont get what i'm doing wrong

i'm loading the Edited Bios Rom

Will be glad if u can check and tell me about my mistakes  (btw i'am trying to get my GPU options like activate/deactivate ApuGPU - primary secondary Gpu selection - power express .. ETC all the Menu's that will help me about GPU performance.)

Thanks Alot ... Have A Nice Day...

Edit 1 : I realised that bios flashing worked well i can see the changes that i made in the already seen tabs like security or system info but the hidden tabs like Advanced or CPU i still cant see them any ideas how to make em visible?

[REQUEST] Asrock X299 XE BIOS unlock

Hello, i was wondering if it would be possible for someone to unlock this bios to expose some options that Intel provides but Asrock does not.

Namely having the option to add a negative offset for specific per core overclolcking, maybe some control over Speedshift, and enabling the  Intel watchdog timer.

I would be willing to compensate anyone who helps me out through paypal, but can't seem to find the specific rules for that on this forum. Might be confusing it for another site.

I have attached the latest BIOS from Asrock.
