hi guys..i would like to make a request to unlock EFI Utility in my Insyde BIOS v1.05 Rev.3.7.. i have an Acer Travelmate P243 laptop, with Acer BA40_HC MoBo running Intel chipsets, Core i3-3110M CPU and 2 x 2GB RAM Sticks [1 is Kingston DDR3 PC3-10600(667MHz) and Elpida DDR3 PC3-12800(800MHz)]..i just want my RAM to run at its original speed(800MHz).this laptop when i bought it only came with 2GB Elpida RAM,i added extra RAM but the system uses the slower RAM speed(667MHz)..any ideas??

Help with Bios CPU support

Hi,

Wonder if some one can help me out.

I have a motherboard MSI MS-7225 and wanted to use it with a CPU Athlon 64x2 4400
but everytime it boots it says that the CPU revision is not supported. It does boot in to windows but I have to exit the bios settings every time.
I been reading about updating the bios and adding agesa code to make it compatible.

Can some one please give me instructions on how to modify the bios or point me in the right direction??..

Remove after market SSD boot restriction which was first introduced in BIOS version F.14. Previously, restriction can be bypassed by choosing legacy boot. However in F.15, restriction occurs for both UEFI & legacy boot.

HP claims that the mSATA SSD that ships with this laptop can only act as a cache. This has been proven false as I have replaced it with a 128GB mSATA SSD which I can install Windows and boot from prior to BIOS version F.14.

Also, the sticker on my box say's "AMD Athon 64" but CPU-z seems to think differently

Xeon E5450 works, triggers max power warning, also voltage mod possible?

Hello

With the help of others at Overclock.net I have modded my BIOS to accept Xeon codes and run Xeon E5450 on my Biostar G413DC Rev7 with full functionality.

Max TDP of board is 95w, and highest listed quadcore is Q9550 2.83Ghz@95w with MPD of 132.48w.

The E5450 SLBBM is an 80w chip @ 3.0Ghz. MPD is 133.25w and 108.5 (sustained).

It seems to me that my board should safely run the E5450 at stock, and should accept some OC? My problem is that on boot, I get a "max power of CPU is higher than 95w" warning with countdown timer from 7 seconds to shutdown. If i press F10, it bypasses and boots perfectly and runs at normal temps and speeds.

Goals:
-Modify BIOS to avoid warning (go away)
-voltage in my BIOS is locked and greyed out. Is it possible to unlock this?

Any help is appreciated.

First of all great forums. been reading down here for quite a while now. signed up today because i was hoping maybe somebody could help me out. im running at the end of my rope on this laptop.
So my girlfriend has a
Packard Bell Easynote LV11HR - 3145NL
Model NO: VG70
After attempting to reset the bios password. (Bios settings>Change Password>Blank>Enter) It now asks me for a password and just hitting enter doesnt function. now ive tried many combinations. old password blank. possible backdoor combinations. (Till i figured out insyde doesnt have a backdoor) Then i
- Took out cmos battery
- Left For 24 hours. (No results)
- Searched the entire motherboard for a cmos clear jumper in the typical positions (underneath ram) i could only find jrst2001 and the jrst2002 jumper these will reset the computer but it still asks for a password on boot.
-Attempted to flash new bios from boot block. finds usb but possibly because the bios is not broken it doesnt flash??.
-Contacted Packard Bell. said that they want to charge me for a repair.
Im at the end of my rope. anyone have any other ideas? willing to try anything

Also. the cmos battery holder seems to be broken. it doesnt hold. not like it matters. everything is stored somewehere else anyway with these new dammed insyde bioses. why do they even have cmos batterys. so i took it out permanently

Its honestly kicking my butt trying to find the bios download. Even trying to find if I have an updated bios..
Is there a way to "pull" it from my computer?

[AMIBIOS]Default value not getting reflected on flashing BIOS

Hi all

This is my first BIOS mod.
we use a AMI BIOS from our OEM (Quanmax - KEMX-2030)

Currently i am trying to change the default value setting in the BIOS .For, which i use AMIBCP for editing the default load values.

Since, i am in Linux platform i use FLASHROM for flashing the bios.

ISSUE:
After flashing the BIOS when i restart the computer the values are not getting reflected.But , when i enter the BIOS and select - load default bios option it sets the values as expected in bios. I was for to perform below mentioned work around to achieve this. On BIOS flashing why it doesn't reflect the default values.

What should i do to achieve to load default values on flashing the ROM.Please guide


Workaround: when i reset the CMOS from OS from flashing the BIOS ROM because of CMOS checksum mismatch it loads the default settings and works as expected.
