Hello, I am looking to have all advanced features unlocked for my BIOS.

I have a Sony Vaio SVF15A16CXB. It currently has version R0250DA from Sony. The existing options are very minimal, and I have searched relentlessly and cannot find information. This forum seems to be my best bet. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

[REQUEST] Dell 3531 corrupted bios with dump

Hello folks, I'm new here, and hoping for help.  I have a Dell 3531 giving a one beep error at boot with a blackscreen indicating bios failure.  I ordered a CH341A and cable clip, and after a several hour fight, finally managed to pull a dump file out of the EN25Q32 bios chip using flashrom and the CH341A provided utility.  Both dumps match in file size, and the 341 utility gave a message saying the file content didn't match.  I didn't catch the error exactly, but I can probably reproduce it if necessary.  Anyway, I was hoping for a clean bios file to load into the chip with flashrom to get the laptop working again.

I have some electronic background from years ago, but the newer platforms of pc and laptop are a bit over my head these days.  I read in the specs for the EN25Q32 bios that it was write protected and I'm not sure reflashing it is possible, but I have it appart and the hardware still set up, so I'm hoping for some more experienced input.  I tried loading the extracted file via USB repeatedly with no luck also.  I'm not entirely sure the extracted file I have is correct though.  Thanks in advance!   Here is the latest bios version from dell  3531A03.exe

Hi,

I'm resurrecting my old P5k-VM motherboard with some improvements. I found that it has no AHCI support on the SATA controller. I've found some bioses for other P5k motherboards in this forum but not for the VM.

Attached is the latest 1001 bios (it has also SLIC already included). Could someone please help me enabling AHCI?

Many thanks in advance Smile

Hey there i was trying to upgrade my bios but things didn't go right.
Everything was normal until it was about to restart, laptop shutdown with a weird noise and it started again but this time all i can hear are the fans, and monitor has just a little bit of light but almost dark.
I tried flashing bios with an usb followed the instructions (Fat32, gave the right system to it etc..). Couldn't find an usb smaller than 8GB.
When i press Fn and Esc i hear the fans go up but then laptop shutsdown after about 5 seconds and starts up again with almost no noise for about 30 seconds then fans start making some noise again and then go off but not the same as when i try flashing the bios.
Any suggestion is welcome.

Is there such a way to change VDDP without tweaking on the BIOS itself?

I've a biostar mobo, BIOSTAR B450MH rev 6.0, the BIOS is deffective and i can't change the VSoc voltage or VDDP voltage from there. The VSoc voltage situation i have solved by using Ryzen Master. Is there such a way to change VDDP without tweaking on the BIOS itself?

For those who are interested i made a video showcasing the issue im talking about:

- Its in portuguese, but youtube made a good joob translating it. You could also put the video in 2.0x and just looking at it you should be able to understand it.

Thank you all

[CPU Upgrade] HP ProDesk 400 G1 MT problem

Hi everyone, I'm new here.

I have an HP ProDesk 400 G1 MT with an Intel i3-4130. In order to get a performance improvement, I decided to change the original CPU with an i7-4790. After the CPU change, the computer runs fine... until I reboot it.

During the reboot process, the computer seems to be blocked and the only way to shutdown is to press the power button. Searching the web, I found other people have the this strange behaviour:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Ha...-p/6055225

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Bo...-p/6620378

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktops-A...-p/5316292

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/534...otrestart/

Obviously I have installed the latest BIOS version (02.56 Rev.A). You can find it HERE.

The same CPU in another machine works well. I've tried also an i5-4590 but the problem is the same.

This problem is OS indipendent because if I press Ctrl+Alt+Del in the BIOS in order to restart the computer, the problem persist.

It's very hard to believe because this computer is sell with this two processor (i7-4790 and i5-4590). So why there is this problem ? Is it a BIOS lock feature ? Is it possible to have a new BIOS with support both of the CPUs ?

I have a Asus ROG that needs help.
We have a laptop we sold to a customer and within two days he came back in with a administrator bios password on it he had already forgotten.
I have experience with Apple PSV$ and reseting their passwords using a CH341A Black Edition and SOP8 chip clip.
I have dumped the bios, attempted to modify and reflash with no Love. I have the original dump of the bios safe and sound with checksum.

Anyone have any advise?
Thanks.

[REQUEST/QUESTION] Unlocking CPU multiplier option in bios

$

Dear All,
I have a Fujitsu Celsius M730 Worksation with the following bios (I believe the latest available bios version)

Type: AMI BIOS  /ACPI 2.0
Vendor: FUJITSU // American Megatrend Inc
Version:V4.6.5.4 R1.8.0 for D3128-A2x

In bios there is no option for setting the cpu multiplier. It looks like a pretty basic bios without any freq/voltage/latency options.
Is that possible to enable these options (or at least the cpu multiplier)?  I have no idea how one modify a simple bios code.

My aim is to overclock a xeon, here is a forum where people say the E5-1620V2 is unlocked:
https://forums.servethehome.com/index.ph...ier.15983/

Also the behavior of this mobo is very weird. According to ark.intel website, the e5-1620v2 has a maximum turbo of 3900 Mhz (39x100). But, I have never seen my processor over 3700MHz (on any core). In the mobo's spec ( from Fujistu's datasheet [attached]) these xeons are locked to predefined clocks, specificaly the e5-1620v2 has a maximum of 3700MHz as you can see in the attachment. Even if the turbo boost v2 is enabled in the bios the cpu freq never goes over 3700MHz. Bios performance profile is set to ferformace. It seems speed step is working well, and I can also turn it off by disabling some c-states. cpu-z shows multiplier between 12-39.

Any help is appreciated.
