Hello, dear community.
Not a while ago I stumbled upon on a peculiar problem with my DC7900 USDT. Against all odds and specification from HP, I have managed to upgrade my Dual core E8400 cpu to a Quad Core Q6600. The pc is working flawlessly and there is a really noticable boost performance after the upgrade.
However there is a little hiccup, every time I restart the pc or Power it ON a warning error 1801 Microcode Update Error pops up and the pc does not boot till I push the F1 Button. It is really annoying and frustrating. So here is my question: 
Is there anyway to update the bios with the latest  QUAD CORE Microcodes, because I am already using the latest produced bios from HP and I even updated the firmware and microcodes for my pc from their support page, but it does not seems to affect in anyway the presented problem. I am starting to wonder, that maybe HP excluded these quad core microcodes from their USDT models on purpose. So you are my last hope to help me solve this problem and to achieve one really great success on 4 core upgrades to DC7900 USDT, an upgrade which was impossilble till now.

Hey forum and all!


This is my first post so I hope I wont do anything wrong. Smile

So I would like to ask for a proper method how to update BIOS (only possible under DOS) with files/links for Asus Rog Strix G731GU laptop because my modified BIOS is corrupt but all the size and name is exactly the same as the original one (G731GU.307) so I dont know what did I miss or did wrong.

I have used AMIBCP 5.01.0014 to turn disabled/hidden options on. Also I think I need a proper DOS boot for flash this type of secured BIOS, only could try some win98, me, xp DOSes, it doesnt seems to work.

I went through on so many blogs but even with more information I have got much confused...not my first BIOS update

hello all, I am in desperate need of knowledge regarding my razer laptop; considering I have never flashed a bricked chip is there anything I need to know? Is there a specific programmer I need to buy for this laptop? It was bricked after using razer's software to update the BIOS, (others had the same problem) I would like to repair myself as I am interested in technology and view this as a learning experience.
Any help would be much appreciated.

How easy / feasible is it to create a complete new BIOS ?
I have ordered one of the eGlobal S200 / Hystou S200 /Vorke V8 machines, but it is supposedly missing IMEI in the EFI BIOS.
I have the feeling this is more or less as standard a board as they come. So what in the BIOS is device specific ?
I assume it is stuff like PIN mapping - Maybe code to a few CPU independent components (which are likely pretty standard anyway) ?
And some default values put into NVRAM 

Or is there more to it than that ?

There is a TianoCore open EFI bios. But I do not find much in the way of universal BIOS implementations.

Hi guys,
I am currently working on unlocking my bios, but i have some kind of problem. I used this guide: https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-G...EFI-Aptio4 and it seems to be working partly. I can modify the BIOS and i am able to lock it down even further, but i can't get any new functionality to show. Can someone help me?
I added the bios which i got using afuwingui.exe and tried to unlock using amibcp4.53

Please I need to add CPU 7th gen support for HP ProDesk 600 G2 Desktop mini (at least for i7-7700T/ i5-7400T).
Also it is possible to unlock any features. Also if it'll be possible to update EFI GPU GOP driver etc...
If you need tables or microcode maybe you can use bios from G3  (im not sure if it's possible to extract them from file)

Acer aspire 5740G issue with 4 cores

Hello everyone.

I have a 5740G with i5 580m, 8gb ram,240gb ssd and rx 580 egpu. Unlocked bios from this forum.

I recently got a i7 920xm and i7 720qm both 4 core 8 thread cpus.

The issue is with both of them i get a acpi read of 96.1c on hwinfo ocasionaly. While the CPUs are at 60c on all other sensors. I believe its some motherboard issue or bios setting. The chipset is compatible and they work fine until the acpi goes into those temps causing them to run below base. I7 920xm runs at 1.1ghz during that.

If anyone has any idea i would be very thankfull.

Vi guys i just update my laptop Sony VAIO SVS1513C3E bios the old bios is R1020C5 the new bios is R0142C5 and now my laptop wont start at all only if i keep pushing the assist or web button and when i release my finger the laptop shutdow i dont know what to do i searched for bios R1020C5 for aony and i cant find it i just download the dump file but i dont know if its the same or not it says for mbx261 motherboard sony all i know is the motherboardof my laptopis the same one .... now i dont know how to do a recovery ???? Please help me

Hey there, I've got a Gateway FX6800-01e that I'm trying to put an X5660 in, I know there are some bios mods for it which allow for overclocking on the forums here but I can't seem to find one that has an updated CPU support list (there isn't one out there from gateway themselves). If someone could edit the version of the 6800-01e bios which allows for overclocking to also support X5600 series CPUs I'd really appreciate it.
