I would like to unlock the advanced/oc tab, so i could possibly lower the voltage & power usage, so that the gpu/cpu wouldnt throttle at full load + unlock xmp profile (power limited, not thermally limited)

Sorry not sure exactly quite where to place this request, please move to proper thread if required

First just wanna say I have been a long time user (and occasional donator) of the Boards here at BIOS mods and really luv the site, ya'll are great.

Most of my request were always for slic2.1 based, but today I have a different request in similar nature.

Windows 10 as we know, for their OEM PC's and Laptops, place the OEM serial into the BIOS which Win10 then activates based off of, I know I can and have found this using RWeveryhting.

My question is, and this pertains to Dell 2018 models, is there a tool that can write over this.

My situation is I have a workstation I want to scrape with Win10 Pro, and a Laptop OEM with Win 10 Home.  I would like to junk the workstation but write its OEM code to the laptop so I have a license essentially for Pro upon Win reinstall and activation.
Sorry unsure of BIOS brands but laptop is a new 2018 dell latitude xps 13 and workstation a new 2018 Optiplex 5000 series ( I suspect Insyde???)

Any advice or links to latest tools would be appreciated.

Hi! I probably have a problem with DRAM voltage. I can not check or change it in any way. Please help me. My laptop is Acer aspire 2920z, but it's have same bios as aspire 2920.

Hello, some background on the issue:
Acer Apsire One 725-0826 laptop given to me by an aunt who forgot the BIOS password.
Installed Linux and worked for a year with no issues.
Noticed an issue while performing internet speed tests; upload very slow.
Wanted to check BIOS but password issue still exists
Learned about ClnPWD.exe and created a DOS bootable USB
Tried to boot with DOS formatted USB: system would not recognize
Tried to boot with Windows 7 repaid disk: system would not recognize 
Only the HDD would show as a bootable device
Tried to boot with a Debian USB key: system recognizes it
Tried to boot with Hiren's boot either though USB or CD: system boots
Tried to use ClnPWD.exe in DosBox using Hiren's boot CD: failed
Took apart laptop, and removed CMOS battery then left it for 4 hours
Replaced battery, RAM and HDD, now the system will not recognize HDD
Tried to use Hiren's boot USB, screen flickering, showing the external CDROM which wasn't attached
Learned about Crisis Recovery Disk
Formatted USB using WINCRIS.EXE
Discovered and downloaded "Recovery BIOS 2.12 Aspire One 725"
Copied ZHGBIOS.fd to the USB
AC adapter and battery were both connected
While holding FN+ESC pressed the power button laptop entered recovery mode, USB flashing
After a few minutes the laptop shutdown but did not restart
Since then when pressing the power button nothing happens
Disconnected both AC adapter and battery
Held down Power button for longer than 10 seconds
Reconnected only AC adapter, no LED's turn on, tried to power on: fail
Reconnected only Battery, tried to power on: fail
When I plug the USB into two of the ports the light on it turns on then shuts off after two seconds
But for the USB port closest to the AC power port the USB's light stays on until the AC adapter and Battery are removed

I'm blaming myself for this issue but hoping there is another step I could try before taking out my frustrations on this laptop with a hammer

Yesterday bricked my BIOS. Get Wincrisis but not working...

Used FAT (not FAT32) pendrive (partition reduced to 1Gb). Opened Wincrisis with XP compatibility mode - admin rights. Then get the BIOS file $01H3000.FL1 and renamed directly to bios.wph into the Wincrisis folder. Done the process.

Get out the battery, plug the pendrive, FN+R , plug the AC and then power up. Fan noise and similar to a black reboot  (fan stops in a seconds and then power again).

Not working....

Any idea? Help please!

Hi All, 

I have a HP Pavilion 570-p044a Desktop PC currently running a AMD A12-9800 CPU.  I am keen to upgrade to a Ryzen CPU but when installed, nothing happens, fans spin up but the screen stays blank.  It appears the bios only supports 3 AMD APU's, with the A12-9800 being the highest. 

I have updated bios's before, adding microcode to support Xeon CPU's in LGA775 systems etc.  But I can not figure out how to make this happen with HP/AMD.  Is it even possible?

I have an Optiplex 3010 with an i5 3470, 16GB G.Skill Ares RAM, and a GTX 1070.

However the RAM is running at 1600Mhz 11-11-11-28-1T.

I would like to run it at 2133Mhz 1.65v, as that is the XMP profile.

I plan on adding E3 1240 v2 or i7 3770, but is it possible to add unlocked i7 3770K and overclock?

Hi there, Id love to change to bootanimation / exchange the graphics in this BIOS.
Sadly I cant find a working "EZFlash", which is described in the manual...it does not recognize the BIOS file,
no matter if its ending is .ROM or whatever....

Its an old Asus Z92J Laptop with an AMI BIOS.

i try to find my way to repair my pc, which is bricked by a fault process describe by MSI. 

By the way i try to use the recovery process for AMI and i'm block on the step "identify the wright name for the BIOS file before i put on the USB key"?

On your process, you talk about andy p's award AMI-SLIC-TOOL where i can find them ? 

If i find it,  where you find the wright name on this software ?

the process you describe for AMI was it good for desktop only? if it's yes, have you got a particular process for laptop?

Hi!

I have an HP/Pegatron IPISB-CH that have support for 2th gen Intel Core CPUs. The i5 2660 (dont have an code for it) i have in it now i want to upgrade to an 3770 i7 (SR0PK). 

Problem is that the BIOS ROM file that i have download from HP Softpaq (SP55548) has an "Non-UEFI data" structure that has an "SECURE_HP_SIGNATURE" in it. So i cant extract any microcodes from "FIT", its disabled (According to my screenshot). Maybe im doing this wrong ?

Is there anyway i can get this to work ? ¨
