The processor temperature is observed at 60 degrees when idle
When pressed 90 degrees

Hi to everyone!
I am Marco from Italy.
I have a request for anyone who can help me on this forum.
I have a hp Pavilion dv6 model/series 3141sl
Recently I have bought a CPU (an i7 640M) to make an "upgrade" (the i7 640M is almost similiar to my i7 720qm but it should generate less heat), but with my bios I can not start anything (black screen).

I mount on my laptop motherboard (actually) a i7 720qm cpu, the mobo, instead, is an hp da0lx6mb6h1 rev h.
Yesterday, from this site, I downloaded the modded bios sp55299_AdvancedMenu_ByCamiloml that works greats and unlock everything but... Still my laptop with i7 640m on don't start and show only a black screen.

The original bios was hp F29 of november 21 2011 and it is at this link: https://whp-aus1.cold.extweb.hp.com/pub/...p55299.exe 

I attached the screenshot and a report to this post.

I am not sure for a donor bios... 
I think that the Hp dv6 models are  only a "cutted" version of dv7 models that are very similar. 
I am also almost sure that the HP Elite series have a full compatibility with i7 640M cpu but my knowlwdge are limited on this field.

HP 620 whitelist removal for Intel AC-7260

Hello,

I recently got an old HP 620, which I now use for office and inernet when staying at my parent's. It only got useable when I upgraded the CPU und RAM (Celeron T3100 --> Core 2 Duo T9300, 2GB DDR3-1333@800 --> 2x4GB DDR3-1333@800. The GL40-Chipset only does FSB800 and DDR3-800).

I wanted to replace the WiFi-/BT-card as well (Ralink RT3090 --> Intel Wireless-AC 7260, since it's the only 802.11ac-card for mPCIe I know) but by chance I stumbled upon the whitelisting-matter beforehand.

I searched thoroughly but could only find open requests in this forum. So I make a new request, hoping that by know someone can do it.  Otherwise I will have to try the method of changing the device ID. This should be the same for a bunch of other HP/Compaq devices, I already saw HP 420-users making requests here as well.

Hello all, I have an AIO equipped with an AMD A10-5700 and need to allocate more the 512mb to the gpu, the BIOS dosn't seem to support it though. I was going to attach the BIOS dump but I'm having trouble obtaining it (can't find it online nor have the know how to dump it safely) Here's the info I do have of the BIOS/uefi:

An e8600 works on the stock bios on this point-of-sale specialty PC.  The e8400 is the maximum that the technical manual says it will support, but the e8600 worked out of the bag on two different units I have.  I have yet to test quad core processors, but that is next to try.

Hope this helps someone out there.  These systems are quite quick for an older LGA775 dual core.

.SIG Error, Can't Use Older Stable BIOS

I'm trying to revert back to an older bios but it seems that HP locks their BIOS so you can't do that...?

It was originally running American Megatrends Inc. F.09 bios, (which I can't find anywhere now) which I updated to attempt to solve some issues with power and sleep settings not functioning properly. I used the HP Notebook System BIOS Update (AMD Processors)F.29 Rev.A

Unfortunately, now everything is running unbelievably slowly taking 10-15 times longer than before, and anything borderline intensive just stops responding, and the audio is crackling, and cutting out.
 
Tried and failed to update bios through the UEFI options but it throws the error "unable to open signature file."  I redownloaded the file, tried it again, same error, tried a different flash drive and same error.

 
Also tried the bios recovery by holding windows key +b while and hitting power, and after about 30 seconds a window informed me the bios update failed, and it booted back into windows.

I Just tried it through freedos using the steps found in this article: https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-H...e-AMI-Bios
but I'm also getting an error related the .sig file.  I keep seeing that the driver should be a .rom file but I have a .bin is that ok? It's the bios from the HP site (which I'm not 100% is the right one because my exact laptop doesn't produce any results on their site.)
 

Any help would be extremely appreciated, thank you in advance.
