Black screen on replacing wifi card with ngff exp gdc beast pci adapter cable

I have Acer Aspire 3 A 315-31 Model - N17Q2
When I replace my wifi card with ngff ExpGdc Beast external pci adapter cable there is blank screen on booting. Even if I do not connect the HDMI to the adapter and conect only the ngff slot with no power still boot with black screen. If ngff cable is removed display comes. Is there any bios mod for fixing the same or what can the problem be?
Processor-Pentium N 4200

Lenovo W540 BIOS dumps needed because of failed BIOS update

Friend of mine bricked her laptop after BIOS update. One of the BIOS chip(smaller chip) gets different read on some of the sectors all the time and I believe that is why the bios update failed .

Where I can find both the dumps and what tool I need to change the BIOS dump serial number and so on?
I  can attach the dumps from the computer if needed (direct reads from the chip).

vivobook pro N705UN backlit keyboard ?

Hello,

Sorry for the language because I am french! .I would like to know if the BIOS for Asus VIVOBOOK PRO N705UN could unlock for the option backlight keyboard.
Indeed, my original model (N705UN-BX066T) is not equipped with a backlit keyboard. I ordered and installed the keyboard equipped with the backlight (original and new Asus), installed the tablecloth backlight , ATK driver and .... nothing.
Nothing either during boot, and I checked several times, the keys fn + keyboard top keys work well except fn + f3 / f4 (backlight).
Which leads me to wonder if it is not at the level of the bios that should intervene to activate or unblock the option for the backlight ?.
Current bios version 306.

I have an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard.

I went to update the bios to 2603 but first modded it for HP SLIC 2.1 using the dynamic method. I hadn't done any bios mods for a few years, and forgot about the eccentricities of the ASUS efi bios. I used the dynamic method because that's what PhoenixTool 273 defaulted to. Unfortunately I had forgotten that a few years back, I'd already installed the ASUS SLIC 2.1 (permanent)  in the bios, using the new module method. 

I then installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 only to discover that I no longer had the "Dim the Display" option under "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings". I reinstalled Windows again, same result. I tried a different Windows 7 disk, same again. It was fine before the bios flash, so I'm assuming that my activities were responsible.

It's just a little thing, but I want it back! Everything  else works, it will turn off the monitor and it goes into Standby as expected.

What I want to do is return the bios back to stock and then reinstall a modded bios when all is working.

Can anyone help me with the return to stock bios?

hi guys, im newbie around here so if i make a mistake by doing anything sorry for that already.

my problem is i use this laptop and i dont know why but its fans run all the time even when i dont push it to the limit. 

i sent it to the service but i guess they didnt care too much and they sent it back to me and said nothing is wrong.

anyways i cant change the fan speed by using speedfan or etc. and also i cant do it from BIOS either.

and because of that im asking you guys to modify my bios to unlock that fans speed control section. this is all im asking for.

History: Tried replacing i5-2300 with i7-3770K machine gave 4 short beeps and refused to display anything. I popped my old CPU back in and started googling and whining on other forums and apparently for order to have sandy bridge ivy bridge compatibility I needed to update my bios. Acer had some bios file but they spat out "rom file does not match existing bios size" and 1 hour of googling later someone said they changed the board revision number or some crap and then on a chinese puppeteering forum someone directed me here saying that ask them you "just" need to add microcode to your bios. I used some program called AFUWIN.exe which came on those acer bios update files and used "@ECHO OFF AFUWIN ..\ROM\ copy.ROM /O" which in my understanding made a file of my BIOS hopefully to fill the requirements on the forum readme. I am very sorry if I caused any potential person who opened this thread a headache and burn me at the stake if you deem worthy.

Hello Bios-Modders,

my name ist Hashtopher and I would like to change the Intel-8265 wifi-card to the Intel-9260 or Killer-1550. I also would like, if it's possible, to put a mini m.2 ssd into the wwan slot. After research I found out that only the custom change of the bios will allow me to do so.
That's why I ask if somebody can help me changing the bios.

Acer aspire 5741g date/time not preserved

Date/time is not preserved at bios as well in Windows 7. I measure voltage at bios battery and it is 2.7V. At the battery side there is info about 3V.  Is it enough?
When I set BIOS for correct date and time, Windows 7 system show date and time 6 year earlier (2012). When you set time in Windows suddenly bios date is set to 2024. Hardware is Acer 5741g.


How to correct this?

Hello.  I'm currently running the latest BIOS release.  I have tried both releases that BIOSTAR offers (H81WR521.BSS latest and H81WR128.BSS orig).

This BIOS does not have SATA Configuration option for RAID.  It only shows IDE and AHCI.  I would like to setup a RAID array for my 3 x WD Red 2TB SATA drives.

I have contacted BIOSTAR, but yet to receive feedback on this.  Is there a modded BIOS for this mobo that I can use to enable the RAID options for SATA Config?

I've attached my current BIOS file that's flashed.

BGA CPU upgrade - should I expect problems?

I got one of these Acer plastic craps (this very configuration) which does not turn on, it does nothing at all. My guy with resoldering station claims it's bad CPU, as always. It's the Silvermont Atom aka Pentium N3520. So I've been thinking about replacing it with N3530 or N3540 right away (these are such craps that every MHz counts), it is the same silicon just with slightly better dynamic frequency (both CPU&GPU turbo). He claims there will be problems with BIOS etc., I think it's nonsense as it is the same thing, the frequency is driven by the CPU itself, not BIOS, right? Whaddaya ppl think?
